I laughed at that too, but apparently you can't have HDR lighting (or whatever lighting they use) and AA on DX9. I think Far Cry 2 suffered from this too - I am aware one of the other recent big releases did anyway. only DX10 supports AA AND HDR lighting.
I hate touch screen, that's my main problem, much prefer to feel the button i'm pressing! Oh yeah, and it's not good looking at all either, it just looks too common, plain and dull.
Plus I didn't like the menus, things just seemed a bit wrong, the fact that everybody, their dog and their hamster has one is just taking the pi**. I'm sick of seeing them, sick of hearing people say "ooo look at my 3G iphone". And as stated before, I can't stand Apple.
I'm sick of the fact that everything these days has an 'i' infront of its name too... I'm trying my best not to buy anything that's an "iSomething" and so far I'm doing well at it!
I'd consider a Nokia N95 or even one of the newer ones N97 I believe they're up to now.
My N95 is excellent in just about every way, haven't yet found a single fault with it. Took a long time to get used to after a Sony Ericsson, but now i'm used to it I can confidently say the N95 is the best phone I've owned.
I've used an iphone before and they're awful! Plus the fact it's made by apple is a huge downside - It'll break as soon as the warrenty expires in traditional apple form. (but I may be biased).
Just wait for new ATI drivers. Released on wednesday I believe.
The game as rockstar have said is made for med-high end computers today to run at medium, for next gen PC's to run on high and above, they want this to be futureproof (yeah i don't quite understand either). Turn everything to low and work from there, or wait for new ATI drivers, or here's a better idea for you, buy the fecking game!!!
I now understand why PC gaming is dying, and it's down to people like you.
I put everything on medium and have had zero problems from day 1 (looks better than 360/PS3 and runs at 35-45fps)... The main problem is people putting the settings far too high for their PCs, or not being patient enough to wait for Rockstar to patch it. Oh, and people on single core systems trying to run it, as well as everybody with an ATI card.... Most nvidia users (like myself) are wondering what the hell everybody's problem is!
Oh, and my PC isn't top of the range: C2D E8200, 4GB DDRII 800, GF 9600GT 512MB, Vista 64bit
You should maybe go out to the shop and buy the damn game then!
My plea to the genuine LFS community people; when you see a post like this one I've quoted above, please report it. Let the mods know talk of illegal activities is going on here - if Rockstar saw posts like this then they'd be the first to start a lawsuit against either the above quoted person AND/OR the LFS devs/mods for allowing this on their official forum.
I'm fed up of seeing people who think it's fine to crack other games and freely admit it on here (MotorM4X another prime example).
What makes these people worse is that they are always the first to jump at a Demo player accusing them of cracking LFS.... How is it any different?
EDIT: back on-topic... GTA IV is a great game for PC as well as Xbox 360.
Yeah my dad has a new Mondeo and it's huge, too big for touring cars that's for certain. I'd love to see it in touring car form though. At the same time, can't wait to see the Focus in its touring car form.
Sorry to come into this but working in a small computer shop I see every day what Norton does to computers, includes slowing them down to below snails speed, and when it wants a license renewal it really does mess up the system until it is removed (using the removal tool, add/remove programs just doesn't do it!), it generally does more bad than good to PCs. Removing Norton from a PC gives a speed increase more than a memory upgrade does, for Norton users it's the cheapest way to upgrade your computer!
I'd never recommend Norton to anybody at all, and advise anybody with Norton to get rid of it once they have gone and got some decent AV protection. Same goes for Mcafee.
