Quote from Ricerguy :saw no immediate damage so i backed up and drove home at 20km/h with my hazards on, steering wheel now pointing to the left.

inspected rod ends and rack ends, no visable damage, I unbolt the steering wheel to take it off and re-adjust it, the splines are jammed. I did eventually get the steering wheel off and readjusted.

Okay, this is my concern, just because you cannot see damage doesn't mean it isn't there. You should never have to adjust the steering wheel, either the steering rack has been dislodged/bent ot the threads on a rod end got stripped knocking the tracking out. Go get the tracking checked and if that doesn't sort the steering have a mechanic poke around the rack for damage, if there isn't any then it says you've done something extreme like bent the chassis.

EDIT - Watching the overtake makes me desperately want a fast petrol car

Amen. It takes me a country mile to nail an overtake, so I have to pick my spots so carefully, there aren't many I can use round here.

The suspension on the A4 is a fun one when it goes wrong. The bushes are made out of piss or something as equally rubbish, so they fail and when one goes they all go. You can buy the parts in singles, but you really want to change them all at the same time, or your car will be in and out of the garage for months.

They are a bit of a faff at times to get to some of the bolts, but they aren't that hard to work on.

Quote from jrd.racer :Nice man, I have always loved and raced R/C cars but never got around to getting a drift one. Seems fun. How hard is it to control btw? 'cause ive seen some awesome tandem drifting on YT.

That depends how you go about it. If you slap on the drift tyres (read: Hard plastic) with 4x4 very on, then it is rather easy. I drift my TT01 by removing the front drive shafts, so it is RWD and still on standard rubber. It is quite a bit harder.

Quote from Klutch :What are you? The EPA?

It is called considering other road users. **** the environment, it'll be here long after we're gone, the whole save the planet bullshit is just that. The planet is safe, we're ****ed.

But by spilling gallons of oil all over the roads you're just increasing the risks that some poor bastard will get up close with a tree before their time.

Quote from tristancliffe :If you don't like team orders, even when sensibly applied, don't watch team sports...

If it was that much of a team sport they wouldn't have the drivers championship, just constructors. It is an every man for himself sport, with the constructors championship thrown in just to give the teams something to fight for, naturally to them WCC is most important as that brings in the cash, but to the drivers they aren't in a team as they all want the WDC.

The only other sport I can think of that comes close is the Olympics. But you don't see team orders then, everyone is out to win their own event.

So is that an S1 outside and an S2 inside?
Also, why stick an Aston Martin badge on a Landy?

I like how every video where people have queried his driving has been pulled down. He knows he did wrong and after his plates got posted he is shitting bricks.

[edit: Reminds me of the expenses scandal a couple of years ago, MPs would proclaim to the media "I have done nothing illegal, all of my expenses can be checked to show they comply with the rules and to prove it, I am going to pay back all of my expenses."]

Quote from e2mustang :finally i had my 2 bimmers at one place for the first time and took some crappy photos
(notice my lg gd510 under the car on last pic.thats 3.5 inches and thats not the lowest point of the car XD )

Sod the BMWs, I want more pics of your Landy. Love the old Series Landies, they look so gormless.

Quote from Klutch :Holy shit, do you people have selective reading?

WE KNEW THE CAR WAS ****ED. There would have been NO point in stopping as it wouldn't have done anything, the damage had already been done.

It is the difference between a salvageable engine and a coffee table engine. The extra driving has turned it into the latter.

Quote from adamlfs :A couple of people on the club forum im on said this aswell. But since it's a crap engine it's got a coil pack not the single leads for each sparkplug.

But anyways, I changed all the spark plugs over today but still has the same problem. May be a Crankcase sensor or timing sensor gone I think.

Im taking it in to get a diagnostics done on it tomorrow. Hopefully that will help me find the problem.

It still works, you're physically preventing the spark from getting to the plug, so the engine will still drop when you remove an active cylinder. Works with wasted spark engines too.

Button and Webber are in the same boat, they are in the best teams they'll ever be in, what is left now is to drop down the grid like Barrichello. They are both working on things outside of F1 because they know they won't have a seat for long and the way things are going this could be Webber's last season.

Hammo wouldn't work in Red Bull and even with Webber talking as though he doesn't want to be an RBR any more (he has to be ready to retire soon), they won't take Hammo because of how badly paired he was with Alonso. He gets on with Button, but that is because he knows give it a couple of years and Button will hang up his gloves too. To be honest he knows he'd be mad to leave McLaren as they are his team, much like RBR are Vettel's team.

Hammo is in one of the 3 teams likely to ever win the WDC/WCC, so if he can't get a seat at RBR, McLaren or Ferrari he has to start on the decent to back of the grid. He'll never do that. RBR have too many drivers waiting in the wings for a seat and Ferrari will never take him with Alonso there. It is never going to happen.

Quote from BlueFlame :Well, since rumours keep floating that Webber isn't staying with Red Bull, and that Hamilton isn't staying with McLaren suggest maybe a straight up driver switch. I'd welcome that anyday. I'd love to see Vettel against Hamilton in the same car!

Horner has said out right he will not be taking Hammo next year.

Linky.

Quote from adamlfs :Laugh or help, down to you guys.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYRBhq5q1AM

Tried changing the coil pack, checked the spark plugs, check my mass air flow sensor, checked the idle control valve.

No luck. Going to get it diagnosed tomorrow or during the week.

PM me to not clog up the thread :P

Simple way to find out if you're losing a spark, loosen off the coils so they are just resting on top of the plugs. One at a time lift off the coil to break the connection. Either the engine will get worse or not change.

Quote from Klutch :oil pressure was abnormally low, we got home, popped the bonnet and oil has been splattered everywhere from the fan, we moved the car back and theres just a massive pool of oil... went for a quick drive, oil light came on

Erm, so if I read that right, oil pressure dropped and he still drove the car? Your mate is a ****ing idiot. By the time the oil pressure light comes on it is already too late for your engine. I assume you also put in more oil before going for the second drive and just forgot to mention that bit.

Although to be fair the damage was already done by that point, all he did then was just finish off the motor.
