Quote from Nick7 :For better turbo emulation you should have a matrix similar to turbo map itself, which could ease way the spool/boost is calculated, and which could keep in account turbo rotational speed too.

I guess Scawen will make it more realistic than matrix. In old versions of LFS turbo gauge was turbine rpm gauge so, if it was simulated back than we can be sure about changes going in good direction.

TrackID and google tells me nothing, if you mean song at the beginning.
Quote from biggamehit :I didnt watch the vid...

but im guessing he could be talking about

-popping from the anti lag system

-loud squeak from very abrasive brake pads

-tweat sound from the intake restriction setup and recirculation.

those sounds you cant mistake anywhere.

The euphoria from new knowledge or topic close to your interests is good thing, but the way you express yourself and 'wannabe Nostradamus' is not at gentleman level.

Quote from tristancliffe :But by shifting 0.2 seconds later, you don't lose 0.2 seconds at the end of the straight. You aren't doing 0mph for those 0.2 seconds, you are still travelling at the same speed (pretty much). Shifting 0.2 seconds late probably costs in the region of 0.0000001 seconds per lap.

A mis-shift of 0,2 second is common thing for typical driver or racer I think.
Actually if you mis-shift by 1 second and have 3km/h less at the same point of track you will have 3km/h less for 20 seconds on straight. If you had 3km/h more for 20 seconds you would travel 16 metres more, and that's what loose at the end of the straight.

Get avg speed of 150km/h which is 42m/s and you loose 0,38 seconds per blackwood straight.

I guess it will be less in real, but still.

Quote from hazaky :I would support just simple car sounds mp3 files, some games use it and the sound is impressive. Just fades the sound.

It is impressive, but it's sh*t overall, just like american action movies.

Since I saw/heard how flexible and powerfull the sound generator in lfs is, I'll stick with it.

I've made truck engine with tweak. As a result I got real truck sound, from XFG!

ADX: Here is a thread about sound randomisation. Have a look.

Google translate doesn't know what alslam aleklml means...

I suggest to rename this thread to 'Rage of movie makers and furious drifters' oh, kidding

How arabians have manage to drift if they have only straight roads with sand around?

Now, how many Ferraris do you own?

Quote from AndroidXP :Not sure if I understand your question correctly

I meant it would work slightly different in comparision to double whishbones we have in lfs.
Wasn't sure, but K-- put some light on it:
Quote from K-- :This setup allows the car to have 'soft' independent suspension when only one wheel is excited (say over a kurb) and quite a 'hard' suspension when both wheels are simultaneously loaded (down force at high speed, pitch under acceleration)

My thought was, they didn't put this fancy suspension to be fancy, or save 400g of weight, because there is one spring less... I didn't know such things about ss's

Would be great to have this on BF1 or FO8.

I guess specs of this suspension differs from what we use in lfs to get the same result?

Quote from Flame CZE :In Czech, which I think is very similar to Polish, everywhere is written "layout" - untranslated. I don't know any Czech translation of the word layout which means exactly what it should mean. It could be something like "layout of objects" which would be too long I think. That's why there's only "layout" in Czech.

I hope this will help somehow.

Yes, I can't find any matching word too. I saw 'layout ' in Czech instalation and I was like "what?" Hrvatski version is untraslated there... Hungarian has smth like organised cones....

Edit: Now I think that once a fresh user will 'get 'it looking at KJS, he will forget it and use slang anyway - lejaut

I've tested Polish instalation and uninstalation. All works fine, but translation and instal window size may need light changes.

First, (pic 1) in all languages the word 'Speed' is in the lower line. It could be more estethic if whole Live for Speed name was in the same line.

Second thing, is how letter shortcut "LFS" is used in Polish. In pics 2 and 3 you can see how we use foreign names/words with Polish grammar, but I think it not official speaking enough. We say:
w Live for Speedzie - in Live for Speed
w LFSie - in LFS
coś do LFSa - smth for LFS

It's ok to use in chat with friends but not in official release IMHO.

I've asked my ex, witch studies Polish language, and she says it can be just "LFS", without any letters.

Another thing is .lyt files called KJS. It's very good because everyone here knows what to expect, it's the same as autocross. But .lyt files are used also to change runoff areas on tracks (forced by servers etc.) right? In this case layout has nothing to do with KJS, but I will just point this out, I've no opinion about this.

Cross your fingers for friday release everybody!

Long straight has also practical side.

Imagine that she starts to sing to microphone. Long straight is a most safe place to take your chorus part, when you don't see the track for few seconds.

Quote from ColeusRattus :Who said anything about the OP being a demo user (except you, of course)

No one, directly.
Quote :In how has a long straight track anything to do with variety?

Long straight as a part of the track. Long straight where you can reach 100% of Top Speed of a car is a variant which LFS doesn't contain now.
Quote :kyoto?

No it's boring and not long enaugh (oval). I thought about something like semi-public road course, very thight and quick, with huge bumps and places to break suspention at top speed

Yeah, demo user made a thread: fire 9000 Redeemers on him

Don't you think variety of tracks doesn't hurt anoyone?
There is a place for fun and adrenaline in 80km/h rally through forest, the place for it, is also in racing 100-200km/h on track but there is no place for fun in racing h2h at 300km/h in FZ5?

+1 for track with very long straight

Edit: ok, I went off topic in my head. This thread is about long drag strip!

Since dashboard updates in road cars, TC LED in BF1 has changed from blue to orange. AFAIK blue was the real color for this car. I guess it's somewhow connected with TC light in FZ5?

Go to work for one day and buy it yourself. Or, if can't go to work, keep looking for threads like 'attention demo racers', 'win S2 voucher' etc. Good luck with searching for kind and rich people anyway.

Some cars have separate tail lights and brake lights, some have twin light bulbs or two bulbs in one reflector. It is very common and it is not affected by age of car, it is just style choice of car creators.
