Accidentaly, I found a way to do required pitstop faster.
Normaly, you should stop in pit and go to the end of long pit lane with 80km/h.

But when nobody is watching...

...and others get their Enzo's on track

Instead of changing cuurent cars, it could be better to add nowadays competitors with ABS etc. and disable that electronic stuff in ours XFG's and XRT's
...if there was ABS in lfs first...

Trying to do these burn out, I found (not pionieer I think: ) that skidmarks doesn't work properly. I have to reach some barrier with sliding speed on track to leave rubber. BTW why lfs has those problems with skidmarks? Looong time they even does not exist, and now Colin McRae 2 has better skidmarks.

It would look better with little lag than with magic gear changes. In NFS Porsche and Race:WTCC it is with lag. You don't notice lag while racing but you notice that there really IS gear change.

On some racing videos drivers are putting their hand on the stick about 1-2 sec before changing, and just moment after that both hands are on the wheel. It could look simillar in lfs.

Quote from jayhawk : Having add on wings, on my opinion, is silly and needless for demo cars.

Yes. Until we don't have downhill track where you're speeding at vmax throught bumpy road there is no need for that. Or even then...

I'm thinking about a competitor for RAC and FZ5 with adjustable wing and street tyres. Any pretext is good to have one more car

Actually nobody believe that you are so poor, and after turning all things around what you said about yourself, you don't look even silly.

I'll let your knowledge alone, because everybody can see it in your some (thousands) posts. The problem which I have, is that you laugh at people which cannot do what you can. All this sarcasm, while you drive a car for minimum 6 years, lot of kart racing, some more powerful single-seaters etc. You drove only 20 miles in F3 car, and I drove loooong 20min in 3.5bhp go-kart! All my 'practise' was on public road and there wasn't many times to push the car to the limit and wait what will happen and I'm sure that I'll spin xrt too in real when going very fast. In lfs some racing in mrt solved the problem, but, still you CAN spin every car. If you, with your crap driving, crap practise and 22 inch tv can handle the BF1 w/o TC then, how to name guys who can't? Idiots? Retired? If you laugh at people with less skill, it's like laugh that someone is poor and you're rich, someone is ugly and you are handsome. It's a metrosexualistic racism. You think people drive 75bhp hatches instead of 300bhp machine because they like? You look and think why aren't they all drive a 911 turbo? Ricers or what?

And driving a F1 car maybe would be easy, until you drive less then 500% of normal laptime, else, typical idiotic, retired driver, like me, would rather pee under himself and feel the pain from G-forces.

Oh, one more thing. I don't know is it my bad English or your manipulation, but I'm NOT the one which can laugh at your mistakes and for sure I don't have better car than you. No need to talk about practise and skill.
Maybe my TV is bigger, but who care :P

Does ride height affect wing angles in lfs now? After 'high nose' issue fix, I tought it does, but now I'm not sure.
We can change absolute angle of a wing or angle according to cars axis?

And to TheGreatestDriverWithBanditBlueVisor: I will tell you in secret, that there are people which can laugh at your mistakes on the track too, and call your car a shopping-cart also. I can tell this, because I'm not one of them actually. They have just enough honour to not laugh people in face, that they have less money, worse car, less practise or just less talent.

And filter server name to show or NOT show servers with recent words. This could prevent situations where you look at the list... "cool, 20 racers, I'm in!" and then "omg, why all of them have traction problems?!!"

It is better that he think he is 'good, safe driver' than 'good, fast driver'

Driving a car in young age is very exiting, and it's normal reaction to shareing this with others, when you're happy. Not?

He asked about speed tacho. Following off-topic was just people punishing him about driving a car. And they were right, because city isn't a good place to start learning
So Falcon, please go out of city and drive on a meadow or forest, away from childrens, which don't want to feel ABS 'trtrtrtr' on their stomach.

Sorry but I don't believe that all You 18+ didn't touch the wheel before being under 18 years old. I was teached by father how the car works, how to use it and how to drive it, when I was very young.
When teenager is talking about ultra-speeds reached in parents car, yes, maybe he is lying, but maybe not. Just look at this video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=MbVCFS8IbxA
He has proven his moron driving, but well, he is in jail now....

If you give a 13yo boy a fast car and straight road, why can't he reach 0-200-0km/h being still alive? And why Falcon can't drive his parent's car (under their control - maybe) in countryside. 99% that it's auto grbx, so what's the problem to practise? Sometimes it is illegal, but now I feel very-very safer, when I drive, than I could be just after shitty driving lessons, which teach how to park backwards in parallel parking (maybe 3 times in my life after driving examsillepall) and driving 30km/h, 5cm near end of the road. It's crap.

If you know where to teach your son to drive, there is no problem. It must not be city center, and it's mad to scream about danger about teenager learning to drive a car.

If I were 'fresh meat' before driving lessons, I should die more times, than years I live.

I can't understand it, but "Quote yourself 2006 Award" goes to you omg, I can not breath

Anyway, after test patches I was scary a bit. But now, new sounds are going towards "That's it!"

Gearbox whine still sounds like sopranos are cut off.
And there is lack of...something; when you kick the gas, gearbox in lfs is whining in chillout, while in some real gtrs', there's "weeweeweeweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" sound. Not what it is exactly.

Indeed... very interesting
Quote from mpn89 :An interesting thing about tyre temps is that LFS perhaps always displays the average reading or "pit reading" - not peaks, or it doesn't simulate peak temps? IRL tyre temps vary greatly while on track from and can go from 150 degrees f to 370 degrees f within seconds during a turn. Valkenburgh had some figures of tyres cooling at 50 degrees fahrenheit per second down high-speed straights from their peak temps after the corner. This is why you see tyres "shine" in corners and then go dull again on straights.

I was always wondering why this "shine and dull" happens
If it works like that in real, it should work the same in lfs.

Can you tell me how much low pressure is slowing you down in straght acceleration? I'm sure it should be 10x harder than it is now in lfs.

Driving with manual clutch in LFS is pretty realistic. I've tried it with my car (gearbox wasn't happy).
Drive at full throttle and press 'gear up'. Nothing. In real life it is also hard too get of the gear when accelerating hardly. When you move your feet from the gas, gearbox goes to neutral (in LFS gear up/down commend is still waiting after single hit of button). When rpm reaches available value for the next gear, click, there you have gear up. All without using clutch!

It's all about forces in gearbox and matching rpm of....elements in gearbox to get into gear.

BTW, it's cool feature of LFS, that devs can get inspiraton from all over the world

...and maybe someday we will get some cool road courses like this.

It could be done easily, just like skins are assigned to the cars.
Just add another prefix to the set name, eg. LX4_AS1r_60laps.set. Then, if you choose Aston Cadet reversed and LX4 you will see '60laps' setup.

And 'import' button is welcome too.

In 'Auto, Motor and Sport' magazine there was a test of Alfa 159, BMW 3 series, Passat, Accord etc.
In some handling tests, 159 was faster than BMW (e90), so FWD can be faster in some situations than RWD, with good setup.

A wing in FXO should be at 90* to slow it down anyway. Or forced LPG instalation
