Quote from wark :Oh, duh! no wonder the numbers didn't add up! :dunce:

Sorry, I just wanted to add some information. At first sight 'L' with negative value seen like resistance from Cx, and 'D' seen like dowforce. It is easy to get it wrong. For sure, a get 'see' verb wrong

And LFSTweak doesn't work with BF1

Hey Mr T, you can't use BF1 in this challenge

So what car type did you use? I tested all and no one had exacly same rev tacho as sauber. Also with formulas you can't use 4x4.

Quote from Breizh :I just checked, and there are two figures, a negative "L", and a positive "D".
Isn't that Lift the negative downforce, and Downforce, the positive downforce?

L is lift, D is drag.

I discovered that while testing "will F1.06 really could drive upside-down at 170km/h?"
Well, it could

I think if you higher front suspiension in FZ5 and run 260km/h the orange bars near wheels should be much smaller if there is lift in LFS.

In Viper Racing air was nicely modelled. There was even crappy plane using aero physics. Had some fun bombarding AI from air, using 'shoot ball at horn'

Detective Kojak is curious why F1.06 was used, while it is not supported by LFSTweak V pointed in rules?

Aye?! So we don't have to believe you :elefant:

Actually you are not included in rules. There is only over 5,5, and under 5,5. None of them includes flat 5,5.

So I'm for including your time to under 5,5 . But if it was 5,501 you are over 5,5.

Better give us twk and replay, beacuse I may be wrong

Yes, I was also amazed how realistic LFS is. XF has transversal placed engine like typical hatch IR.

Now even if there is variety of gearing setups in the field, everyone is accelerating the same because shiftlight always gives you the best way.

Not to mention everyone starts in same milisecond...

btw, there should be splashscreen info at LFS start-up: "This software contains manual gearbox, even in US and A"

Quote from Scawen : It's only a few psi difference when the tyre gets quite a lot hotter.

I read at some car sites, that tyre with 200kpa (2,0 bar) in 20*C will have 266kpa (2,66 bar) in 80*C. Which is suitable for slicks. The difference is about 10psi, wchich is not that tiny.

Another info: 20*C @ ~2,2bar --> ~1,5bar in -15*C [happened to me, same conditions and pressures]

Bladerunner how do you feel it? In-sim plugged with mikrovolt impulse generator linked with your perilympha and butt?

Driving without shiftlight is more fun, but slower. I always rev too high.

Quote from sweetreid :Have you tested to see if these things are already included?

No, I will try maybe, but it could be usefull to have full list of things implemented in LFS already. It would be nice advert of LFS by itself.
For example how can somebody know that there is tyre pressure changing by inner air heat? And how do I know I'm pumping +0,1bar to actual pressure or pressure in 'starting race' temp (diff for normal and slicks)? Is pumped air cooling inner air temp down? Am I offtopic? :shhh:

Quote from AndroidXP :I'm pretty sure the tyre diameter is already taken into account.

Point for you

Quote from MagicFr :i dont have knowledge of car using viscous diff for front or rear transmission.

350z has rear viscous diff. Also Panda 4x4 is front wheel drive with viscous in the centre and open diffs in front and rear.

I think some people may expecting open diff or viscous behaviour of car, then thinking LFS has some physics issues with oversteering

edit
@kernelpanic: guess why drifters use locked diff

Oh locked diff... it is another case, so please forget it in this thread.
Tyre mass
pasibrzuch

While decreasing tyre wear, tyre should become lighter.

Suspension will be affected due to less unsprung mass.
Acceleration will be affected due to lower diameter of wheel and overall lower car mass.

Just thought about that after Kubica disqualification. His tyres where completely wear out, and bolid was 2kg to light.
Clutch Pack overused

As in title, I think it's overused in LFS. Every self-made, WR, or even standard (!) setups have clutch pack in default. If available. But only UF1 hasn't it.

IMO some cars should be restricted to only viscotic clutch or open diff.
In my feelings simple LSD feels more realistic. Floor gas at corner exit and inner wheel is spinning, then a little punch and everything is ok. With clutch pack there is lack of 'roadie car feeling'. And even in GTRs I change diff to visco, because it is easier for me (mouse) at feels better.

And I don't understand RB4 center diff really. There's percentage slider front/rear, and LSD or open.
How can you operate the torque with open diff?
I will understand clutch pack in center diff, OR just front/rear wheel drive with only visco in center diff.
It doesn't make sense for me now.

IR clutch pack is used only in: Honda Legend, Alfa 147 GT*, Lancer EVO, Subaru Impreza, tuned Mini Cooper 4x4, Enzo.

350Z, BMW M3 and others have visqo or open diff so... what you think?

But maybe it is true... anyone was damaging clutch for fun in 8000hp car?

In insane condition there are weird things going on....
Including self pushing burning clutch. Who knows, who knows

Quote from Woz :Personally I would like an extra option added called gusting wind that changed speed more. But thats me, sick and twisted, I think it adds some spice to LFS

I was thinking about that too Add some sliders and put some more complex wind settings to generate the wind I was dreaming about for years

As I watched the wind in drag forces in F mode, it changes the direction only in small zone, like N-E, but smaller.
I'm curious about wind speed showing at start, is it avarage speed or max?

+1 for the wing in FZ50.

Tristan will just set it to 0* and beat you all.

I have weird feeling that many people are negative to any change in LFS, but when it will come from devs they are falling on knees and kissing they godlike foots in thank to genious wing in FZ50.

just kidding maybe

Quote from AndroidXP :Anyone who finds this offensive has a serious lack of black humour.

Or lack of family member which died this way... anyway, there are worse things in tv 24h/day and LFS isn't teletubies, so I don't care about that skin.

ps. this kind of skins could be easly done in Viper Racing. Just spraying and painting the 3D model Would be nice to have this in LFS.

Bravo for the driver! He thought about cleaning front light from zombies blood to be better visible on the road.
