"The car must be run in electric mode (no ignition and no fuel supply to the engine) at all times when being driven in the pit lane."

May be tricky according to this:

Quote from tristancliffe :(...)They wouldn't be able to turn the engine over (high compressions) or start them hot (usual starting problems of hot engines) with anything than a stupidly large battery. Hell, it's hard enough starting a cold/warm 2 litre engine with normal compression ratios using an extra large (in relative terms) battery on my race car.

If the drivers/teams are silly enough to stall out of reach of an external starter then they deserve to retire.

Quote from Crashgate3 :You can also hit one, then keeping that held down, hit the other to look behind in most games (in LFS you look further round, not behind).

If you change One Button Look to eg. 65* it will sum up when both buttons are used, so a situation behind will be pretty visible.

Quote from mutt107 :Their netcode is still far better than LFS, you don't see cars flashing back and forth every second.

Maybe it is because in iR you mostly play with people from US which have decent PC's & internet connection, while in LFS most racers are from europe?
You may do it yourself, shout 'Where are you from from?'

Quote from pasibrzuch :I'm curious how does tyre warmers cooperate with pressure settings(...)

OK I did some research for myself.

This is cold tyre with 1.6bar:

This is same setup, but warmed to 120* in HL mode:

As we can see by load markers pressure in preheated tyre is bigger.
That means pressure settings are relative.

I'm curious how does tyre warmers cooperate with pressure settings.
If I set 1.5bar in Road Super and 100*C, the result is tyre pumped with 30* air (optimum_temp-30*) then heated up to 100* so real pressure is something >1.5bar or,
I've 1.5bar of 100*C air in tyre?

I hope so

Quote from Scawen :I've been thinking maybe 10 minutes total replay time limit would be good.

Kindly sorry, as it can stand as off-topic, but...
This limit and temp. slider will stop super long tyre preparations for one hotlap for sure. People wear out tyres because it gives an advantage in current version of physics. Maybe it is good time to include a note into new physics to make fresh tyres as advantage, not weared out, especially slicks, gravels and rain tyres in future. Just a long range thought.

Thanks for current changes!

Quote from Squelch :I just retried by firstly following the car, and then locking the view. Backstepping works as expected with doing this.

I believe this is not a bug, but a misunderstanding of this newly introduced feature.

It's worth mentioning, that once the view is locked, any changes made afterwards result in jumping to that locked view when backstepping. To maintain the correct view, toggle the lock.

Thanks. It's clear now

Quote from Flame CZE :Ah I see now, thanks a lot! Now I know what the lock button is there for. Sorry then for the false alarm

And now I know what 'stop' button is there for. I wanted a static camera on the ground - works like a charm! How could I think that following camera will stay in place

It's great how mouse wheel zoom works depending where the pointer is!

Quote from Flame CZE :While I was watching mbt_dj's replay, I discovered a little bug in follow car feature in SHIFT+U mode in replays. When I follow a car in a replay and go frame by frame forward by pressing the > key, everything is OK but when I rewind frame by frame by pressing the < key (or just by moving the slider), the view stops following the car and moves somewhere else on the map.

In Z28, the view also stops following the selected car but it stays in the same place. It would actually be good if it was possible to keep following the car after pressing <. I don't know if it's easy though.

Had the same. After I place camera where i want and rewind a replay, screen disappears for a sec -> camera is somewhere in the pitlane.

BUT somehow it solved itself for me after a tried couple of times. I think once LFS see a car in field of view (in shift+u mode) it's auto selected as vehicle to follow in new system. Maybe when there wasn't any car visible = no car to follow selected it worked eventually.

I can't handle this case - follow, stop, lock...

Quote from e.M :from your mouse position im guessing you are a lefty and is it really better there? couse im a lefty too

Yes, I use mouse on left side since I use it. But I didn't change mouse buttons, so left click is still left click. For me it's better, just like writing or throwing

Because of upcoming patches I've created a new holder for my pedals

To this day I used this German ammo pack as a holder, it carries that speaker now:

But it was loose and very unstable!

Now, it is solid and pedals are attached by 4 screws.

Wooden boards from basement - free
Metal mounting elements in number of 32 - 2,5 €
Time - 3 hours

No chaos. Serious racing servers will not use ramps anywhere. It's only for fun.

Quote from JPeace :The above, is a very nice idea - but surely would take away the point of a simulation?

Car reset as magical respawn is already non-simulation feature.
IMO if a car is turned from the roof, or get out of sand trap WITH its tyre wear/temp would make 'reset' more real.

Quote from Scawen :I'll look into this today, and implement it if it is compatible. I am sure that "never" should not exclude blown tyres being changed. So "never" really means "only if blown".

Is it possible to add a switch to disable tyre reset (temps & wear) in case of car reset? The purpose is to save time when you made mistake in practising long stint.
