I doubt it.

It seems to me the devs have lost an active interest in developing the game. I mean compare what kind of development went on 1.5 years ago and what has happened during the last 1.5 years.

I too have lost active interest as a result. Haven't played the game for at least a year.

Sort by margin of defeat. Notice that a loss by 1 point has happened 8 times.

Actually in 1999 during the last race MS could have let Irvine through. Then MH and EI would have been on the same number of points but EI would have still lost due to less wins.

Alain Prost's loss by 0.5 is a very unfortunate one. Prost won the race that awarded half points (he got 9/2=4,5). Had he allowed the race to continue, let Senna and assuming he would have then finished second (collecting 6 points) he would have won the championship by 1 point.

She doesn't even have to turn left, never mind right.

If it makes the OP poster feel any better than I've been playing LFS since the beginning already and I am still unsure of what heel and toe is (mostly because I used to drive keyboard and never got into that). So you are way ahead of me even if you can only slightly do it.

Quote from Vinnylegends :Hi guys,
Lately i have been using the Heel/Toe Tecnique because I think it gives me better laptimes
But I am not able to do it anymore because I had a Kart crash a while ago and my right leg suffered some injuries. Now my right foot is pointed more to the right and I cannot hit the throttle when downshifting because my foot doesnt go any further.
I am undergoing some medical help with some treatments lately.
I am wondering also if someone also has this problem???

Sorry to hear about your problems. Have a joyful Christmas time and a happy new year

Quote from DevilDare :god.... this made me think "is lfs community ever happy?"

no progress - ravel ravel ravel....
new car - rave ravel ravel....
new track - ravel ravel ravel....

whatever the devs do there is always people who are not happy......

That's not the point, and you know it! It's a fact that you can't please everybody. Stating it here as some kind of proof is pure BS.

The matter of a fact is, and which you are so conveniently avoiding, that if Scavier is working on smth. then whatever that is people want it to enhance their game play experience the most. And adding the VW Scirocco is not on top of anybodys list of game play experience enhancing shit!

Now you on the other hand are the type of person who gets all exited about a new nob on the dash board that takes 2 months to add and don't get why everybody is complaining because its for free.

I mean no disrespect to the devs, I just want to make it clear why people might be unhappy and that whilst you can't ever make everybody happy, you sure as hell can do much better than the VW Scirocco (real car or not).

Quote from Danas :alot of problems for me, btw i get the green bars and all kind of other things in the 16bit mode, when i change to 32 its gone, but the other things are still wrong. GeForce FX 5500

Quote from Juls :WOW, like the shadows, cars are not flying anymore!

I have a probleme here with this version. I use a quite old graphic card (GeForce fx 5200) but until now it was working very well (80 fps with low quality).

Now most of the screen is blinking and there are artefacts in textures. But it seems this blinking only affects objects depending how far they are from the camera.

edit: I see the same things like Danas.

Seriously, guys, why haven't you reported what graphics drivers you are using (what version number)? Nvidia just made new drivers available. Are you using those and did the problems start with the new drivers or with the new version of LFS?

Quote from TFalke55 :I like the medal system to be used in dead heat, but not as relevant scoring system.
How about giving 10 points to the winner, and every 5 seconds after the finish crossing drops automatically by 1. Plus for the Ranking... so:

Winner crosses finish: -> 10 pts -> points for the second automatically drop by 1. if he does not cross the finish line within 5 seconds of the winner, it will drop by another point.

e.g.

Allmendinger would win -> 10 pts
Tracy finishs with 2,650s Gap -> 9 pts
M.Schumacher follows, but with 5,103s Gap to Tracy -> 7 pts
Bourdais spun in the last lap while trying to pass tracy because of having an exploded tyre, passing the line with 16,221s gap to Schumi -> 4pts
Now it's close: Vettel, Scheckter, Massa coming 3wide onto start/finish... Scheckter crosses first and having 3,298s to Bourdais -> 3pts
Vettel next with 0,019s to Scheckter -> 2pts
and finally Massa with 0,123s to Vettel -> 1pts
...

and, if it is needed... A.J. would get gold, Paul silver and Michael bronze...

This is a really ridiculous idea. The points would depend largely on safety car situations.

I think it has smth to do with handling also.

Quote from gezmoor :Maybe this will put it in to perspective:

Road Bike:
Ducati 998 SPS (1998) - 123 BHP @ 190 Kg - 647Bhp/Tonne
Ducati 999R (2005) - 150 Bhp @ 181Kg - 829 Bhp/Tonne

MotoGP
Ducati Desmosedici GP5 (2005) - 230 BHP+ @ 148Kg - 1554 Bhp/Tonne
Honda Honda RC211V (2005) - 240Bhp+ @ 148Kg - 1621 Bhp/Tonne

Thats over twice the power to weight ratio. MotoGP bikes are so powerful these days that they have to be power restricted in the lower gears in order to be even remotely ridable.

For comparison:

McLaren F1 (Road Car) - 627 Bhp @ 1,140 Kg - 550 Bhp/Tonne

You are leaving out another obvious comparison:

Ferrari F2005 - 900+ Bhp @ 605 kg - 1487 Bhp/Tonne

And then of course there is he issue of the driver that is added to the bike so in more realistic terms its:

Honda Honda RC211V (2005) - 240Bhp+ @ 148+70 Kg - 1100 Bhp/Tonne

Quote from Intrepid :For shits and giggles? That's why Schumacher angered some at Ferrari when he spent so much time preparing for the Kerpen round of the 2001 World Championship. Even going to the lengths of hiring Kerpen and restricting testing for rival teams... With an F1 title to win he still invested MUCH time in some pissy go-cart race... what an IDIOT!

I think I recall Senna not wanting to do some pissy Formula Ford Festival because he wanted to race in the world championship and if not for his F1 schedule he would've competed at others. and the most DECENT driver Senna ever raced NEVER left karts? WHat's that about??? if only decent drivers get out of karting then Senna must KNOW F&CK all about drivers...

Vettel actually said the only way he could prepare for the wet of Spa (...and Monza) was by going down to Kerpen with Schumi's kart team.... I mean this guy must be a complete idiot? Vettel must be completely rubbish.

The DECENT drivers all seem to have some common appreciation of karting and respect as much as F1.... the shitty drivers who are scared of racing decent drivers are generally the ones that dismiss karting off hand....

You can't GET DECENT DRIVERS OUT OF KARTS... Dan Wheldon even flies over HIS OLD mech to work on his kart... he was racing the RoboPong 200 this weekend as well... but what has Dan Wheldon ever won??? he's an idiot too...

Someone touched a nerve or smth!?

Quote from 5haz :Build bloody massive concrete walls, telegraph poles and small houses within a few feet of the edge of the track.

Thats why there was never any problems with corner cutting back in the days of Jim Clark.

Yeah, I loved the days when a car would go off track, hit a fence and the fence would decapitate the driver. You just don't get that nowadays
