I just had a guy spin far in front of me and he spun back onto the track. He did not, however use the brakes. So he was at 90 degrees with the track and rolling across the track... right into me. Suspension damage on lap 4... yipee! So when you spin, use your brake, don't let the car roll wherever it wants to., Especially if it is rolling onto or on the track.

Did I say I love the game so far!? I don't' know what I'll feel after two months from now, though, but I'll probably buy it for a year. I mean rent it (A)

And about my SR: Those 93 laps are races only, so no TT or qualifying. I did a few TTs and one qualifying on top of those six races. And 93 laps is correct, as races at Laguna Seca are only 11 laps. So, that's 60 at LRP and 33 at LS.

Yeah, well Laguna has a lot more turns so you get a higher safety rating per lap boost.

You up your safety rating by 0,01 point for every 10 clean corners. You had 93*7=+0,65 safety rating. When you pass 3,00 you get instantly like 0,45 so you total is 0,45+0,65=+1,10 You start at 2,5 so 2,5+1,10=3,6. I dont know where you got the rest then... And six races is 120 laps if you finish them all on the lead lap.

You should have seen the first corner we had. Absolutely everyone was taking it easy. It's a big diff if you get to race once every two hours and are punished with incident points and the race is long. I do mind a lot that everyone is slow off the line, though. Makes crashing into people very easy. I don't know what they are waiting for...

OK, forget everything I just said, I just did a race with 1 incident point. Let two guys easily past me cos right now I need an incident point like I need a third nipple.

Safety rating +0.16, 0.45 to go. Just 3 more races like this and I'm golden. Nine more races like this and I'm cruising in the Skippy

P.S. I forgot to add in the post, my antivirus gave an "I need a restart" message that minimized the game. Hence, I got 4 points from that one and lost another lap as my car was totaled. And I'm not making this up, this was, without a doubt the worst race in my entire life of simracing (12 years or so..)

Thanks for the encouragements, guys I need 61 safety points by end of July. At 10 corners a point I need to do 3 clean laps for every 2 points, hence 93 clean laps. How I am ever gonna do this is beyond me, but I will do it by end of July.

Is the safety rating going up in time trials at the same speed as at races?

I just had my worst race in my whole life.. EVER.

Solstice at Lime Rock

The thing started with extremely long waiting time for the grid to form and then the lights took an awful long time to change... When they changed, I nailed it. But the lights changed to red. So my race is already ruined before it even started. This must be my second ever false start in my life (including LFS).

Then I wait like a nice boy for the green lights and drive in the pack to the pits. But no wait, the guy in front of me forgets how to drive in every corner. The only reason I set a qualy time is to be ahead of dumbasses like him. So in the final corner he gets so much out of shape I end up driving off the track to avoid him. I spin (+2 points). Wait for the pack to pass. Then point my car at where I think the pit entrance is, but it's not there. (I never drove into the pits before. BIG MISTAKE). Then a car comes suddenly out of nowhere and grazes me (+4 points=6). He spins out of control. I decide to drive another lap and have another go at the pit entrance (so now my lap wont be scored). When I get to the spinner I slow down to let the poor guy go ahead of me, because I feel guilty for his spin. He then proceeds to try to spin the car in a violent manner so that he comes across track and right in front of me. I T-bone him. This happened so fast and I was not expecting it. I just hit the brakes, I was coasting anyway, but I still hit hard. (+4points=10). I finally get to the pits and guess what. I dont know what to do. I try stopping like in LFS and I also used the escape key. Still no use. I drive back out again for another lap that wont be counted. The second time I get to pits I finally see the guy with the lollipop. I serve my penalty and off I go. I go out of pits and suddenly see the leaders in my mirror. In that time I accidentally cross the pit exit line. ((( Another black flag. But this time I know what to do.

I commence lapping the car around the circuit untill at one point one of the leaders comes to pass me. I let him in the inside of the first corner, but hey what's that, he veers into me. No worries, its +0 points. A very light touch. Now wait a minute, oh no my suspension is bent (((( And there is still 10 laps to go (((

Some laps later I come across a moving chicane. He really was a moving chicane, god damit. I approaced him so fast I could not believe it. In order to avoid him I go off (+2points)

Race total 18 points. 6 laps behind. And smth like minus 10 for my licence. I now stand at 2,39 (((((((((((((( I'm never getting to 3,00 and I deserve to get there for sure.

Why are you assuming that this is a place for you to exercise free speech? Let's say that you don't like a certain newspaper. You send them a letter criticizing them and want it to be put up in the "letters from readers" section. They don't do it. Is that in violation of your right for free speech? I think not. You have all the rights in the world for expressing you views. But this is a place of business for the LFS team. And if you go into someones place of business and start badmouthing and criticizing them in front of their clients, then you should always expect to be promptly expelled. That's what happened here, isn't it!

Anyone who is into FPS shooters I would certainly recommend this game. Its another WWII setting, but quite arcady and fully infantry based. Its basically CS:S but harder to control recoil (you have to fight automatic weapons etc) and now they have just added achievements like TF2 and some new maps too.

Personally it is better than counter strike, but not as good as team fortress 2. Comparing them as half life 2 mods of course

Those would be my words exactly. If you ever liked CS or any multiplayer shooters, then definitely get that game!

Also, what else you need to get, if you have any source engined game, is this mod: http://www.pvkii.com/ It's free and very fun. I recommend you play the island map and at a time when there are 12-15 people on the server. During the daytime in Europe there are less, during evening there are more.

I think LFS is a relatively simple to install and configure. And it works for most people. If it does not work for you then you need to do smth differently. After you get over your emotions I'm sure you'll get it to work. Like they said: try a fresh install.

By the way the edge for the cutting corner rule is when you have more then half of the car off the track or off the curb. And you can clear the "slow down" penalty by slowing down for a second or two after a minute later aswell, if you cutted in the corkscrew you don't need to lift off immediately after the corner.

Smth similar happens to me also when the PC is turned on for a long time, I start up any game, it plays for a few minutes and locks up with red bands (GeForce here, old GeForce did the same. Not ATI though).
