Oh god... You have completely missed the point - the tracks are constructed via a system and the only data you need to get is the configuration data (tile number 1 is at square A1 with elevation 2 with radius 30, tile number 7 is at square A2 with elevation 3 with radius 0, etc) - there is no wrong version!!!!!!! This is not full scale track building. IT's a track editor and the track parts are predefined for pete's sake - what kind of wrong version can you have!?
Like what?? Who cares about the god damn GTR interiors when you can have a track editor...
Don't preach me about the LFS ideology. I was a follower two and a half years before you got on board
It doesn't have to be exactly the same!! This rFactor project has also just started. If at the right hands it has great potential.
God... you people really don't have any imagination...
This has probably been suggested before, but as rFactor is getting one, I think it is high time for LFS to get one also. Sure, the layout thing is nice, but take a look at this:
Yeah, why do you guys (danowat et al) think that things will cost the same every year? There is a little thing called inflation and wage increases Few things today cost the same as they did two or three years ago. In my country inflation is at ~5% per annum that is roughly 10% over two years. Granted, it is lower in other EU countries, but wage increases must also be considered. As workforce is a major factor in LFS costs I'd say that wage increases should actually be used to get a fair price. It might even be that Scavier thinks that their work was under priced and a more appropriate sum should be charged. Whatever happens, an upper limit to make it not so costly for new purchases must also not be forgotten. I'm betting the cost structure after S3 becomes available as Alpha will be smth similar:
S1 - not available
S2 - £18
S3 - £36
S2->S3 = £18
I remember reading that the effect from following another car through corners was changed by Scawen to make it more real - you lose less downforce. I think that was after patch Q.
Anyone who saw the NASCAR race at Watkins Glen this weekend saw Tony Stewart spin out from first place. This happened due to his tyres starting to hope whilst braking for the corner.
I've seen this in races in Estonia where cars in the middle of a slow corner have tyres hoping.
This is an advanced tyre model feature, but at the end of the day I hope it will be included
Guy, when you get badk from your vacation, can you make sector timing device like there was for Grand Prix Legends?
Basically it records your best split (it is kept on screen) and adds up all best splits to form your ideal laptime. That's one big thing I am missing from this game.
It's definately worth it. A bit much for a Canadian???? Check out the people from Eastern European countries and china playing the game and then come here saying it's a bit much for a Canadian.
I'd like to see an endurance race when you are driving laongside somebody all the way. If anything, endurance races should have the filed more spread out than a normal race.
