If I was trying iR again for the first time, I wouldn't even think about buying the content etc. Would be in the same boat. I just got lucky being in beta and also slowly purchasing content as released and getting discounts. As a new customer, it's not that it is intimidating, its just that unless you have enough spare money and time to dedicate to that one thing (bare in mind if you think its even good enough), then sure, why not, else move along to the next etc.

Taking fixed out is great. The base/fixed sets are already very good. Minor changes and you can get to some good times after a few laps. Plus plenty of people post setups on the forum.

And with Canada, maybe iR will give us super softs for the track so we'd actually have some rear grip for the F1.

It's the same logic as "marry the rich". She brings in the money, so Tony will keep her around until she doesn't.

Quote from vipex123 :Raikkonen quoted post race as saying he could have made the tyres last to the finish. Really sad to see that, because that's another potentially race winning scenario scuppered by the Lotus team, think back to Silverstone only a week ago, not bringing him in under the SC. I'm pretty sure Kimi will be on the move, he wants to win, and Lotus seem too inconsistent to grant that.

It seemed possible since Button did 30 laps (17-47) and Kimi would have to do 31 or 32 laps on much less fuel (not counting SC laps). Who knows if it would have actually worked, but it would have been nice to see the attempt done. I thought the late pit was a mistake myself.

JJ48 wrecking his team mate for the win, woohoo...

In other news, the 78 team is now 9th in points which is epic.

AroX is in the army currently, he's forgotten what beautiful women look like. I'm guessing it's a life or death question.

I was just posting the link James, I don't really have an opinion on it.

Random observation: Noticeable difference between DIR's blowout in Spain compared to here, in which it completely disintegrated. In Spain it simply got 'cut' and didn't disintegrate hardly at all. Could be the speed at which it let go, or the part of the tire that actually let go (sidewall vs surface).

One of the oddest races I've seen:

http://www.twitch.tv/pmdtv/b/423564985
Timecodes to look at:
9:20
46:30
52:00 for a bit through the yellow
1:34:30
1:49:00
2:01:30 on

In between the cautions was actually some good racing, but those time codes highlight the race quite a bit.

I'll say October with pre-order in July and demo in August/September.

Quote :"It will be absolutely open to a wide range of users" , he told Marco Massarutto , Production Director Assetto Corsa. "From the point of view of difficulty driving, operating stability control, traction, automatic transmission and so away, allows you to adjust the model to guide their own needs and preferences, also depending on the controller used, whether it's the keyboard, gamepad or steering wheel and pedals. The difference is not in the dynamic model of the car: that is, the dynamic model is not becomes "arcade" or some kind of simulation by changing parameters.'m driving assistance systems to become more or less invasive, depending on the ability of the pilot to make the car controllable, obviously within certain limits " .

Quote :Version 1.0 of Assetto Corsa will include several cars as Abarth 500 SS, BMW 1M, BMW M3, BMW Z4, Ferrari 458 Italy, Ferrari F40, Ferrari 599XX Evoluzione, Ferrari P4 / 5 Competizione, KTM X-Bow R, Lotus Elan, Lotus Evora, Lotus Elise, Lotus Exige, Lotus 49, McLaren MP4-12C, Pagani Zonda R, Pagani Huayra and Tatuus FA01.

Quote :The circuits already announced are: Imola, Monza, Magione, Mugello, Silverstone and Vallelunga. But after the launch Kunos release two DLC, both free of charge for those who will pre-order the game. About two months after the launch will be released the first DLC, the Bonus Pack 1 that will contain Spa-Francorchamps and some cars. The first DLC will be followed by a DLC "historic", with circuits and historic cars, Historic Pack 1 .

Quote :Presumably, the release will take place between the months of September and October , while details on other tracks should be revealed soon, when you open the pre-order.

Most certainly Jeff Gordon will. Ricky's amazing run was 788. Jeff has never missed a race in his career dating back to 1992 final race of the season (his first race of his career). The longest ever streak since first career start, and it's already up to 705. Bobby was actually at 704 so Jeff was ahead even if Bobby wasn't going to sit out this weekend.

After that, it probably won't be touched until Kahne or Logano in 10-20 years. Kyle or Kurt Busch would have been close, but they each have missed a race after having well over 200 straight starts. Jeff Burton is at 608, but I think Gordon will outlast him in the Cup series.

Because Todd Bodine is an idiot.

Plus Bobby was 704 consecutive starts, while Todd has only 219 TOTAL truck starts.

Even though DJ was the driver who really started at Gibbs, and won the Daytona 500 in their second year, Bobby was the guy who really led it into a true dynasty team (as a driver, similar to Mark Martin at Roush). A decade of success, Championship, Coke 600, Southern 500, Brickyard 400. Can't really ask for more than that. His brother Terry will also end up in the HoF one day.

Also, funny stat about Bobby: In the Busch series he had 10 wins, 100 top 10s, 10 poles.
