Quote from isamu :You didn't answer my question....I ask how driftable is the L49. In other words, can you drift it ala GPL?

Yes he did..

What you should of asked was how controlable is it when the rear becomes loose.

Quote from DeKo :Been trying to get into this BF and really can't, as much as I want to. The maps are terrible, the lag is terrible (at least 50% of the time me and the other guy kill each other at the same time, or around corners etc...), crashes maybe every 2 games if I'm lucky, and I just cannot make myself like it. I'm pretty gutted, the new CoD is obviously terrible, Arma is good for ****ing about but not online, and now BF isn't very good either. What am I supposed to shoot things on?

Quote from Scawen :No, I don't. But someone I believe said it was probably something like 7%. That would be about 80,000 of our registered users. It's ok to alienate 100 people or so, but not 80 thousand people.

It's just not the right time yet. XP was really the thing for a very long time and loads of people out there are quite happy with their computer that still works.

Yea, but thats 7% of registered drivers, from 2003.. how many of them 89,000 have even looked on the forum let alone turned a lap in the last 3 years...

and anyway its not like you will loose the 7% of the people because if you ever release a DX10 version im pretty damn sure the majority of that 7% will be upgrading to play it..

Quote from Scawen :Sorry to upset you but it is fictional that you need continual updates from Microsoft for your XP computer to continue to operate. I switched off the updates years ago, I do not install anti-virus software and never got a virus. It's quite simple, don't install viruses or run an exe without being sure that it is safe and you'll be fine. I do use zonealarm on my XP computers - an old version which was still usable unlike the recent versions. That's good because it lets you control which programs connect to the internet.

i know that, you know that.. but you see this is where its slightly contradictive.

the majority of anyone who knows how to keep an XP machine running without breaking wont be running XP in the first place because they know bigger and better is already out there.. and the people who dont know will just update to a better operating system because media hype tells them to..

end of the day, you have to move with the times, yea its unfortunate that 2% of the population who play LFS wont be able to play anymore but there are many more people who will..

its all good and well wanting to keep supporting, its admirable.. but just look at what can be achieved using DX10/11... the pros outweigh the cons by far..

plus.. do you actually know how many people use XP atm who play lfs?

they might use it but they wont after april next year.. when microsoft completely shuts its doors on it..

id be willing to bet you will gain more people by upgrading to DX10 than you would loosing them due to not supporting XP...

Quote from seniecka :Ouch. Everyone who states LFS is dead is right. It's just ridiculous that 5 years have already passed by and NO SINGLE UPDATE. What we did pay for? For an suspicious update report which gives no clue, no promise and is pointless, basically. Developers went out of motivation and that's it, 'cos otherwise it's hardly explainable how on Earth we are still waiting for S3? They promised a new content back in 2008, and after an announcement, suddenly "no, we have some issues, let's wait until it's sorted out', and we are waiting for 5 years already. Kunos in a meantime managed to make a new sim with highest technology, best physics and best graphics. Does Kunos Studio consist of thousands employees? No. A bunch of dedicated guys, as, I thought, Scavier are.

you paid for S1 /S2... and you have got S1 /S2..

whats the problem?

ive just never changed it..

i think ive sorted it tho, i think its because dampening was on in windows, took that off and set gain to 75% and got a 1'20.3 straight away, the car still feels a bit ... meh.. but tonnes better than before.

im going to try scour the AC forums for some decent settings.

well i can pick the full lot up for £350 brand new after factoring in the price i can sell the G27 for.

ive seen mods to make the throw of the gearstick shorter which id be interested in, one think i do like with the g27 shifter is i can stick it on the desk.

i would only really use the 458 wheel the standard rim would sit in its box forever or until someone needed one for a replacement i guess..

i do like the G27 but the knocking thing is starting to do my crust in (english for annoying) and its pretty much the only reason why im thinking about replacing it.

I am in the position where i can go from a G27 to T500RS with 458 wheels and TH8 RS shifter but the question is.. is it worth it?

will i really see that much of a difference between the two thats its worth the cost to upgrade..

i deffo want the 458 wheel and t500rs base/pedals.. the shifter, as long as its 6spd etc i can look at alternatives..

Quote from Dennis93 :Well, tread depth alone means grip.

As I pointed out, the more tread there is in the tire the more it can wrestle around, work the whole tire.

A tire with less rubber usually feels hard and very stiff to drive on, like there is never enough heat or even too much.

The more depth in a tire means more grip in real life.

maybe i'm misunderstanding your point here but more tread doesn't directly equate to grip..

Ignoring compounds for a second the more tread you have the less of the tyre is making contact with the track and the lower the amount of contact patch the lower the grip..

this is so basic its untrue so i cant sit here thinking you actually meant it in that way.. but i cant see how else you could of meant it..

Quote from Christopher Raemisch :That car looks nothing like Chris's car. Blueflame I think you need to work on your observation skills

Nicely done Chris, good to see you out there running some laps More than I can say

What's your plan for next season? How much does it cost to enter the time attack events?

plans for next year are nothing.. the amount of time the TA takes up we decided that we are just going to trackday the cars instead of competing.

ive already done one trackday at donington park on the end of the zandvoort weekend and im planning to do blyton park this sunday.. then its going away for winter.

European Time Attack Masters - Zandvoort

Some of you may know we won the 2013 Time Attack season for Club/Pro RWD, and on the back of that season win we was invited to compete in the European Time Attack Masters which was held at Zandvoort, Holland.

I received a call on Tuesday from Mike (driver and owner) telling me we had been invited and even tho we both agreed at brands that the season win was it, the last time we would compete i just replied.. how are we going to get there? So Mike made the arrangements and I traveled to Luton late Thursday night after work so we could set off early on Friday morning to make the Tunnel.

quick coffee stop

Nearly there..

Arrived, this was our hotel.

parked up

strangely when we was shown our room, we came out of the hotel, down the street and into some house.. a bit strange, but it was comfy enough.

we set off in reasonable time to the track (2 miles away) got there and got setup, luckily we knew the guys with the HKS stall so they were happy for us to steal the back of their pit garage.

Saturday was testing day so we booked 2, 1 hour sessions and made use as much as we could.. neither of us had been to Zandvoort before but i had a couple hundred laps on the computer. One of the dutch speedster owners came along to show mike the propper lines etc so he could see where he was supposed to be going.

Mike managed to do a 1'56.4 which was pretty decent according to the dutch speedster guys.. so we was happy with that, i had a go but best i could do was a 2'04.x but i was fully held up by traffic, i was faster than mike in the first section, equaled him in the last but the middle section was woeful stuck behind a beemer i think plus i had a passenger .

The testing sessions were soon over, and we chilled out for the rest of the afternoon, went out for something to eat and went to bed.

Got to the track early and got the car warmed up and sorted for the days first session, watched some drag racing and wondered around the paddock.

went out in warm up and didn't do too bad

and then qualifying

remember tho, we were the only car on normal semi slick (V70a's) vs everyone else on qualifying slicks, the results just seem that much more impressive. The Lotus Evora which was beating us is a GT4 Race Car, driven by Cos Euser who is a full pro (lemans 24hr etc) and Zandvoort is his home track

pics during the events.

We went out in the final but despite Mikes best efforts.. we couldnt catch Cor in the Evora.. but. we was never in with a chance.. we went there to have a bit of fun, as a nice end to a 2 year journey..
