2 questions.
1. how do i get VoIP working in game? - i know Ctrl is the PTT button.
2. HDR - my bro is having probs with major differences between dark and light where im having none at all, HDR is still there as i can see it but the effect is much less.
we have exactly the same PC's (built at the same time) the only differences are the keyboard, mouse and monitor.
is there something he can do to just reduce the effect of the differences? i know HDR cant be disabled as ive just trawled through a number of pages online.

well chances are if they didn't see me then i probably would watch to make sure they are alone.
if they pose a potential threat etc then i probably would kill them.
ive just been on now in starry sobar and a guy shot me and killed me for no reason then again in some trees, well we actually killed each other but both times they shot first.

90% Of all players would kill on sight anyway, im just doing what i need to to survive.
If they are holding a gun Im just going to shoot on sight. If its holstered or they have an axe ill just watch and let them go.

I cant believe i played from 5:30pm to 11pm withought even realising! Me n my mate have ventured up to some massive antenna and made camp just outside. Found shit loads of food, ammo guns and all sorts now! Problem is i want more weapons! Lol im running around with an ak74u atm, i did have a lee enfield but i only had 2 bullets left but i really wanted to keep it!
oh well needs must i suppose. I went to a hospital to get some blood early on and some guy just kept shooting at me he didnt hit me tho, i layed on a hill with the enfield just lookin around and he sat in a doorway.... Boom! Down he went! As i approached the house he was in i think someone else had the same idea and started shooting at me with a makerov and god knows how he didnt hit me but i managed to get a shot off and got him aswell, quick loot of all bodies and i dissapeared before either came back for revenge!
My current char is about 7/8 hours old now, killed about 12 zombies and murdered 2 ppl.
Id there some general consensus of what you have to do to deem your friendly or is it a case of just do what you need to stay alive?.

well i just tried disabling SLi and it seems to have tripled the FPS 
just need to jump on dayz and make sure it works....

FPS.. In towns mine is terrible, in the open its fine. Anything i can do to sort it? Or at least make it better?

I spent a little time last night moping around one of the towns, found some goodies, no weapons tho apart from a hatchet. I stumbled upon 2 peeps hidden away in a supermarket and i decided id have a bash at killing them, didnt go well lol.
Im going on later.. I got chores to do.

After playing a couple hours last night im in love!
Was playing with a mate who started far bottom left of the map, i was far bottom right and we met up in bolova is it? With an old unused runway? Anyway... I decided to attack a zombie and it left me with 1000 blood and i keep falling over now lol. Ate some meat that i cooked and im back up over 2000.. I think i need to travel to a hospital and get some blood lol.
How do you put stuff in your backpack? I can open it but then i cant get anything in it.

ok i bought it..
installed both arma and the addon.
played arma for 5 mins to make sure everything is working etc.
installed six launchers etc, downloaded the mod for me now when i click quick launch it says cant find file.

ok i managed to sort that out, i wqas using arma instead of the arrowhead one.

i REALLY want to play this mod but i have a dilema.. i really dont know if i should buy it..
i never got on with ARMA II, it always felt clunky and i felt unattached from the game, if i needed to react quickly the game would just not be quick enough for me. i suppose thats because im so used to (or was) the COD series. my second worry was how it was going to run, i used to have really bad probs with frame rates when i tried it before and it never felt smooth.
so i downloaded the free version knowing it has limited graphics and no story mode, but in fairness it runs pretty well, everything maxed out with a 2000 distance. i set up a couple of men in a town and went to kill them, which i failed to do lol, i got owned haha. but again it didnt feel as bad as i remembered.

Setting Up Dedicated Hosts
Just trying to setup a server for just me n my buddies, if i use dedicated host downloaded from LFS.net then run it (after changing the options etc) it starts but when i try look for it on the list its not there.
if i try manually enter the host name it just says connection timed out.
any ideas?
can i run a dedicated on the same machine im using to play or will i have to use something else? like a laptop maybe?
