i have been in an S2 and the boot was shite for example, the vx has boot lining, the vx doesnt fall to bits likie the S1 or even the S2.!. in my opinion the vx is alot better made than the elise also alot rarer. Even some elise drivers (that are not stuck up their own ass) have commented on the build quality of the VX compared to the Elise.

ill say it again tho, i have been in both and maybe it wasnt a well kept car but there was parts of the dash hanging loose and the door lining was falling apart, this was a 2005 elise, and mine is a 2001 and its still in alot better condition..

if you buy an elise you are not buying better build quality, ride comfort etc, you are buying a name, a reputation.. to me thats not everything, id rather have something rarer that works how it should.

no its not a VXR, it is indeed a 2.2 n/a, i got this one for a reason, its my first propper rwd car, and i didnt want to buy the turbo / vxr and write it off after a day. so got this to get me used to it..

alot of members have said that it is better round a track than the turbo anyway, but not quite as good as the VXR.

its got 150bhp atm, but looking to get that upped to about 170ish..

it will do 0-60 in 5.5 atm, and top speed of about 140, but its not all about that.. if you was to drive one of these on the twisties.. oh my you will just fall in love!

and i got this over the elise because i didnt want a car to fall to pieces on me, the VX is better made than the elise and its actually more rare aswell! plus i think they look nicer.

well i just tried it with the setup that is on inferno..

i managed a ... wait for it.... 1:29xx

and i thought i was going pretty fast..

but i top out at 200 down the main straight.

the WR is like 1:22 aswell lol

im gunna give this a bash now, ive never really raced with the BF1. so this will be a challenge for me.

just a quick tip, if you are spraying in a garage the garage is going to be cold, so when you get the spray can (assuming thats what you are going to use) put a lighter below the can for about 30 seconds,

this increses the pressure in the can and gives it a far better spray patturn, you will notice it moe when you are running out of spray, you will get blobs of paint dripping onto your hands.

its the n/a version, but you can go to TMS and get a full GEO setup which will remove that understeer, its only apparent in the wet i might add, on a dry day you dont get any understeer unless you really turn hard and are going quite fast.

one thing that is wrong about the car, lotus who designed the chassis of the vx designed the front wheels to be 16's, but vaux in all their wisdom decided it would look better on 17's. and as such you tend to get slight understeer.

Why'd you paint the calipers though? Never understood that one, your brakes are what they are, painting 'em won't change their brand or performance , although even worse is painted drum brakes behind stupidly oversized wheels on a punto or something

well they are AP Racing discs,

and they are just black horrible bear metal at the moment..

so red goes with the car i guess, i just wanted it to look abit smarter.

well i had it less than 24hours and the radiator blew up, common problem apparently, but ive sourced a replacement and will be fixed very shortley.
so since it has been in the garage,

i have managed to
drill out pre-cat (very restrictive)
cold airfeed to airbox
painted front calipers, need to do the rears yet.
and gave her a good long polish
