Thanks for understanding, and not being angry... LFS is a unique racing simulator, the only one of its kind... There are a lot of similar sims, but not similar to LFS. And it's unique and fun because of the little dev team. They aren't gods, but thy know what they need, and made this beautiful game to us.
Closing this thread is a good idea, as it got TOO offtopic
I think that the direction that took this thread is wrong... you are comparing... hmm may be Atom with BMW... yes.
The atom is not nice, has nothing, only a seat and two pair of wheels. BUT the atom runs fast, really lightweight, and IMO it's one of the cars that are meant for racing. This represents LFS, being the engine the physics, but the exterior being the graphics. Some will like it because of being simple (like me) and others will just hate it. Also, if the Atom has any problem, you'll need a lot of money to repair it, and a lot of time for getting the spare parts (lets say the Patches)
On the other hand you've got BMW (as SimBin), with a variety of cars (games). They are really beautiful IMO, and have a really good performance. But they've got flaws, as not being too lightweight... and of course the Atom is faster (LFS physics are much better). You can easily get the spare parts (fast patches)... To sell more most BMW's have got Automatic Transmission (like the driving aids in SimBin games).
Another thing, Atoms are made by a really small company while BMW has a worldwide business running.
And well, it's your choice... A big company making a lot of cars bought by anyone with money, or you can have the Atom, wich you'll never see unless you are really lucky, or you really like it and look for it.
You've got SimBin comercial, big games, with a lot of fancy things and details, Driving Aids, and Licensed stuff, or you can get LFS, the simulator that almost no one knows, that keeps the core of racing, and that is reserved for real driving lovers.
oh yea sorry, I deleted it by mistake. I'm uploading it atm, so later I'll update the link sorry.
PD. Watch my super simple RBR movie in the while http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RM-uQyWpCjA
If it helps, I use the AutoClutch with the Blip off, and i release my foot when shifting. I do it so I can HeelToe when I need/want to. Also, it's more realistic, in most of the cars a person drives you have to release your foot (unless you are a GTR/Rally driver)
I think I'll do it tomorrow today I did a "test" on it, but tomorrow I'll check for the best position for the lights, and watch the video writing down when to turn them on x)
I don't see anything wrong with him having friends like him also, may be Squidhead is being a little rude, but I understand him, ´cause he's right.
Back to this Arab thing... Viktoor says we shouldn't talk about something we've only seen on movies and pics, when most of the things we've seen and discussed comes from this method... I really doubt that all LFS drifters have been in Japan, on a HachiRoku racing another Japanesse RWD (most of the times) on a Touge, but they still love it. I doubt all rally lovers have been Burn's Copilot, or Drived themselves, but they still love it. I've never been on a WTCC, GTR, DTM race, but I love it, as much as drifting ad ralling. We've all seen a Fat Guy dancing on YouTube, and we all hate him, even if we've never met a dancing fat guy.
See my point? We can't go there to comment it. I was going to go to Arab lands once, until I saw this arab "drifting" things. First of all, two of many definitions of drifting are: "managing a slide through multiple CORNERS", "Controling oversteer". Second thing, it can't be called drifting because of the fact most arab drifters drive FWD's, they are just sliding. And third, it's not about skill (FWD's won't get too much oversteer), not about experience (that much), it's abut luck.
If they wan't to do it, great. Kill yourselves out there. Squid, or anyone who thinks this is really, really weird, stupid, dangerous, irresponsable, etc. Quit posting on threads like this. It's just worthless, we have nothing to do.
I understand you Squidhead, because my sense of Irony is pretty much like yours sometimes
The wallpaper, I'll edit it a bit for myself, the idea is neat, maybe with a bit of work it will give me the chills
Buen trabajo, Good Job! (sounds like Dora the Explorer)
took me about an hour and a half hope you like it... it's made with paint.net only.
It was a RX7 FC and modified the whole front to look as close as I could to the XRT.
