I didn't want to rain yet on it, I'm working on a new one, like a continuation.
And I wish I could do bigger images, but when I take 1024x768 pics graphics look kinda odd, so I turn it down to 800x600. I belive it would work on bigger res, but I don't know how to get it higher than that.

no, it woudn't. It woudn't make the sim better, just have more content. If it's real or fake, it doesn't matter. What a sim aims for is the feeling of the car, the car to do what someone would spect a real car to do, etc.

Tried limiting FPS... didn't help and on idle windows I'm using between 00 and 2% of the cpu... so I don't think it's that

Stop using so much blur! It's way too much... it only works on some pics, with an special theme or something... But too much blur will kill you pic!
You could have used motion blur instead

itsphilthy: No secrets here! Just basic editing...
But as you ask, I'll tell you step by step what I did:
1.- Saturation adjust, as well as RGB
2.- Blured the Background
3.- Darkned the shadow
4.- Added the reflection (Just some blurred lines on a semitransparent layer)
5.- some Subtle Glow, using the double layer trick.
6.- Added the smoke
7.- Added Vignettes
8.- Added the Home made logo

That's it

Lo que te podria decir sobre el sombreado e iluminacion... trata de que el auto se sombree a si mismo, lo que le daria un gran efecto, te lo aseguro!

I'd recommend you adding selfshading through photoshop, it will give a great effect, I assure that!
