We are more conservative than you overall, yes, but I'm happy to say that he is way out on the conservative, xenophobic end here. I actually think a majority of Americans are pretty culturally understanding, because of how our nation has been built over time. Unfortunately, they one of those groups in which the people are extremely vocal about their batshit ideals.
I have Muslims who live on my block. They are fine people, and for all his talk of Muslim conservative radicals, they are extremely liberal and modern.
So how's the Delta Wing looking? The times seem to be somewhere in the slower LMP2 cars, which is pretty decent all things considered I think.
But I'm wondering about the speed differences to other cars in the corners especially, and I wonder if it will cause them trouble all race long, and put them into dodgy situations.
Really? I know plenty that are still together from high school... one of my best friends is getting married to the girl he started dating in freshman year of high school. I can think of several other couples from my class that are still going strong too.
I met my girlfriend in high school and was good friends with her from freshman year, even if I didn't start dating her until the very end of it. Still together, years later, despite being long distance for a lot of it
I was in grandstand 1, right behind pit lane, and we had discovered on Saturday that you could walk in front of it right next to pit lane if you went all the way to the end and around two corners. Didn't require a Pit Lane pass at all, but those people were like three feet closer than us, for a lot more money So we spent a lot of the break time wandering around, basically on pit road, watching the drivers interact. Tony Kanaan was really animated for a while before they went out and inspected the track, and we followed him up and down pit lane, talking to drivers and officials, until he finally grabbed Will and they kicked the Pace Car driver out.
We were also down there before the race, and it was really interesting to see the crew members and drivers before the race. The crew members were out there an hour before the race, and they seemed nervous. They kept adjusting tires by an inch, or moving a wrench from one place to another, and then back again. The drivers walked in 30 minutes or so before the start, and if you stand by the porta-johns, you can see them all feet away We discovered this by accident, as we happened to be standing there minutes before the national anthem. There was a line of them waiting to pee before they had to get in the cockpit at one point. Only one I didn't see up close was Rubens, he was too far down
The rain certainly would have made things interesting. Was about 5 minutes after the end of the race, and it only lasted 5 minutes or so. But it was fairly hard. It might have been just enough to force the off slicks for a few laps, before changing back.
I love when the live race action that I paid for, and spent all weekend supporting, then waited around for almost 2 hours, is cut short by TV coverage. Wonderful.
Even if they smooth the track out, it will be bumpy again in 2 years. The climate here is awful on the roads. Not like the City of Detroit has any money to throw around either. Any repairs will likely come out of Roger Penske's pocket.
Rahal had everyone in turn 1 cheering him on half-way through the race. He pulled the bravest move I saw all weekend there, and made it stick. Then he did it again. Fantastic to watch.
When he couldn't fire back up, everybody groaned, then he got standing applause when he got under way again.
Did they ever say on TV exactly why the race was shortened? We were kept in the dark about all that at the track, and the announcers were massive idiots. (OMG, rain!!! how will this affect the race???? .... C'mon now. There were all of 3 drops, and the cars weren't even going for at least an hour after that.)
The only thing I could think of is the patch could only withstand 15 laps.
Fairly disappointing to be stuck there for all of that Feel bad for those who had good drives screwed by incredibly bad luck. Some ended up with results they didn't really seem to deserve, while others who deserved great results were caught out.
Rehoboth is one of my favorite places... we have family with a house there, so we go there almost every year. Usually rent another one, and pack 20 people into it.
Though, as I've gotten older, there aren't too many girls available to hit on, and not enough drinking Too family-oriented.
I nearly got arrested with my cousin there last year for drinking on the roof of our rental at 4am, and being too loud.
Took forever to clean up... I guess that white Mustang had to have dropped fluids on the track a good way around, because it took a long time to restart after they had cleared everything in front of me (my seats are across the track, almost to pit exit)
Just got back from Belle Isle for the day... Grand-Am race was great, though I do wonder how the Red Dragon car got away without a penalty... he very blatantly blew throw a red flag at pit exit on the last caution. Leaders had some sort of curse today, I'm convinced
World challenge was a load of shit Pole sitter's transmission broke off the starting line (That's what he said, we saw an interview with Pobst as we were walking around later), got crunched by a car from the rear, and most of the race was under caution... they probably got 7 laps of racing in. In 1 hour 15.
Indy Lights... small grid, alright race.
Off to find highlights if they are available somewhere, can't see the other side of the track for what happened
After watching the race on tape, my biggest impression is that I find Ashley Judd incredibly annoying. Also, the announcers say really, really stupid things.
Not quite... they aren't full length games (70, not 90), as they are youth. And some of them are Friday evening/night. It's a tournament. But yeah, basically from when I wake up to nightfall, I'm working. Not complaining about the wages though, It's more than I make in a week with my other job
Using that, it would only cost me 83.25 EUR to fill my tank though... granted, I have a smallish tank (12 gal, 45.4L), but to be over 200, his tank would have to be massive.
