I've got an AMD Athlon64 3800+ and was wondering what the limits are, i'm finding it quite tricky getting the info.. some have said that the newer dual core ones will go in?
I simply think it comes down to concentration, because fordman was loving the experience and totally tuned in, he was concentrating more... and you're bound to do better at something if your concentration is focused and more dedicated.
Simple really... if you find the new sounds slightly annoying and you can't gel with them to feel what the car is doing then you'll be concentrating less on what you're doing and therefor likely to be slower or make mistakes. Which kinda backs up what Tristan was saying.
As for the engine dynamics, since the new sounds play over the top of the originals, you can still hear them and thus means you shouldn't lose the edge the synth sounds provide.
I'm gonna try CSR tonight, i'll probably end up just using a few of the effects rather than the actual engine sounds but i'll see how I get on.
Another quick noob question, If i want to use a BOV from CSR, do I need to temporarily delete the BOV file in LFS?
AND (sorry) can i just use specific effects and keep the LFS engine noise? IE... use the whine, the brakes, the backfires whilst not having any new engine noise?
Is there a single easy to install package that includes all the cars yet? seems to be lots of people contributing I was wondering if there was a general agreement on what's the best?
Couldn't agree more, luckily i've saved the vegas file, so will find an alternative to the bars, want something to 'frame it' though.. blur is wind noise.. will take that away too. It's much easier to see what you dont like about it AFTER you've bloody encoded it!
Cheers for feedback, will clean it up and re-encode it before giving it to Jeff my nemesis
Another nifty suggestion, when you're following the lead car, how about some PIP (picture in picture action) with the main video being the TV view, and an incar window in the top corner? I've seen this often used in real broadcasts and is a good effect.
Although to be fair I know how tricky it is editing an LFS movie, let alone one that's over 20 minutes long so I'll keep my trap shut!
For those that don't know, the track is called SLAM by Pendulum and is the opening track from the album Hold Your Colour (color, whatever) and it's a SUPERB album if you're into that stuff
Last night (sunday 15th) I had a great race with my mate in our fave config of cars, the RA on Kyoto National Reverse... not your most popular config I'll agree there
The race was over 6 laps, which was just about possible on the Super Road Tyres. I managed to build up a 9 second lead, but at the cost of my tyres, so when I came in for the mandatory pit stop I was a long way behind with him yet to stop. He came in for his stop, AND DIDN'T NEED TYRES! grrr! BUT when he left the pits he came off the limiter too soon! muhhahaha DRIVE THROUGH PENALTY!
Anyway to cut a long story short, the video tells the tale from the moment he rejoins the race from his drive through penalty.
It's just a bit of fun I knocked up in a few hours last night when I really should have gone to bed, I'm knackered at work today!!
