This is more of a test than any form of finished movie, hence the music is just kinda slapped in and i've not sync'd anything or choses the most suitable of tracks

But thought i'd share it anyway as I hosted it for my own convenience

Quote from Becky Rose :I hope ten unique air horns, independent of the crowd noise, is sufficient ?

I like the idea, but at the mo it sounds like you're driving through the deal or no deal studio

Think the crowd needs to sound a bit more meaty and maybe add a few air horns which are always at MS events hehe

Good work though, EAX for lfs is so desirable

by better I mean they can actually offer a challenge... every other game you can beat them without trying...

with LFS, once the AI have had about 60 laps (and stop crashing) and aren't on the Oval, they're actually quite quick.. my ADSL goes down all the time, and as a result I have some really well trained AI

The funny part is that the AI is actually better than 90% of other driving games, now many AI's could hold a slide the way they do!!

Hahah apologies! since it's arrival i've worked from home Hehehe (not a coincidence!!)

Poor man delivered it on time, box was HUGE and VERY heavy which I like when I buy something expensive.

Took no time to set up, although my optical connection didn't seem output anything more than stereo so switched to the 6 channel direct.

First test was to watch the LFS movie Aspirations as that was on my desktop ready... and WOW... the sub was pounding even on the default level!

Opened up my THX/DD5.1 demo DVD and it was frankly unbelievable. I've upgraded from a packard bell 5.1 which, although ok, lacked clarity and punch too, so this is a big step up!

LFS Sounds superb (I use the CSR though) and FPS games are incredible in 5.1 hearing people sneaking up on you. Gears of war on the 360 is even better yet...

(counting the superlatives?)

Anyhoo here are some pictures

a big box

3 D Cell Maglite for scale

If I ever have my TV/360 in a different room to my PC, i'll probably buy another of these, it's that good.

Quote from Tweaker :It is said they should. You need to make sure the stereo system has those 3 inputs (green, orange, black), or an optical port (optical cord isn't included). http://img.systemaxdev.com/pro ... ca95a6e6_CTEN_500x500.jpg

I believe it also has a 3.5mm input jack on the side of the control unit for stereos and mp3 players?

Quote from Tweaker :The optical cable should be even better. I haven't tried it in optical mode (dont have that), but I am sure it is even better that way .

The cable from the control unit to the sub isn't "that" long, but it is long enough (I think it is 6ft/182cm long, though it is late now, and I can't pull it out (It might even be 4ft/121cm)) that you can put the control unit on the side of your desk, and have it reach behind to come to the sub that is either below or sitting beside your desk. Keep in mind that you do not want it right next to your computer. The way I have it now, I have my old desktop on the left side of my desk underneath, and the subwoofer away from anything it can harm on the right. It has a big magnet, and came with stickers and tags all over it warning me about the magnet and putting it near electronics. It probably isn't that bad as I made it out to be, but it's just a precaution. It also told me that I should commonly turn off the entire unit whenever I am not using to save it from surges or other power issues. The whole unit is turned off from the subwoofer with a switch. The power on the control unit is just it's "sleep mode" like any normal device. The power button is lit with a somewhat bright red LED when the power is off, and then it lights up blue when the power is on. The knob is very nice and smooth with soft notches in it for controlling the volume and settings in the menu.

The cables are nice and long for the sattellites, you shouldn't have a problem with those reaching the corners of your room.

Excellent, that sounds fine, I dont need it to be too long so 4ft would be plenty really.

Turning the whole unit off is fine with me, the sub will be easily accessible and I'm quite fussy about turning things off at the mains.

Sub will probably go between bed and end unit, as the bottom Drawers are full and never used.

(Please note, I RENT, and can't be arsed to decorate, hence the lovely wallpaper!! hahah)

Sorry Nikimere I didn't provide a link as I was aiming the thread at owners like Tweaker

Tweaker, excellent news, thanks for that! I'll probably be using the optical cable from my soundcard, will that be ok too? I'll also be using the optical from my EggBox360 so will have to swap but no big pain really.

Quick question, how long is the cable from the Control unit to the Sub?

Thanks again!

Quote from Bawbag :Nice one, bloody thing is huge to!

One of the guys in mercury got one and was broadcasting it throuh windows media player, was quite cool to watch, graphics looks very very noice!

Ok so about this regional thing, does this mean that the region free consoles will be able to play the UK games, or will this pour f00 have to keep on buying foreign ones?

I believe that the UK games will work on all PS3's, however, UK PS3's will only play UK Games and Films

Quote from Thorvertonian :It's actually bigger than I thought, knew it was big, bu bigger than sky+, thats just ridiculous, best I suild new support beams for my TV stand...

Only thing is PS3 is regional, so unless you chip it (And can't go online) you'll have to import your games.... (AFAIK)

Only the UK PS3 will be regional. US and JAP are region free.

Oh it worked online too straight out of the box

Well my housemate spent £620 importing it... so it's relative to how you value money really

He has a 2nd income from playing online poker though, so far easier for him to justify spending that much on a games console than your average joe like me though.

Well it depends, like the XBOX 360 you can connect it via HD components (R G B phonos) but also by standard comonents (Yellow vid, and red and white for sound) and I guess there'll be Scart connectors etc.

But yes, to get a HD picture (720p, 1080i etc) you'll need a HD READY TV.
