if she will do banking online I cant see why she wouldn't buy.
Maybe you can buy each part and she pays you back as they get delivered? Or find someone who will work as a "buying moderator" of some sort? Or even say if anything goes wrong youll pay for it somehow (helping out to earn money etc to pay her back :shrug thats all i can think of for now.

Quote from Scrabby :near my home is a crapyard were a Capri stands alone... pretty good shape

Go buy it, can make about £1500 in parts or if it is in good shape, ship it over here!

@general: my capri isnt clean, its got grey freckles! and theres a door stripe missing which makes it look terrible! so im taking the stripes off when i get a chance! and a brooklands will set you back at least £5,000 now, get saving and ill take the light units off you just to get to the angel eyes!

the fronts look much better. Those front lights angel eyes? or just a dodgy ring round the main light lol. might fit angel eyes to the capri (yes, BMW lights fit the headlight bezels ) need to get new tyres for my capri, though i want to really upgrade to the 7J 7 spokes from my 6J 4 spokes.
The euro stretch tyres just look like some chav with 18" wheels on a nova who couldnt afford the right size tyres as well my capri may have tiny wheels, but at least its low! comes to the same height as an old mini

euro stretch :vomit::vomit: id prefer to go 265 or higher and have a nice bulge to the tyre or at least a vertical side. stretched cant be good for the car! ill go find a pic of a capri with a nice bulge. something like 215's or 205's on a 5" wide rim i think! I shall be back!

EDIT: original wheels here

Wider ones here

DOUBLE EDIT: pic can see the stance in that pic, looks better then stretched wheels

The back is rather nice too

Quote from The General Lee :It's about 1250kg with "a full tank and no optional extras" - Thats what the hand book says.

On the top speed front, me and my dad had it on a "private road" and we got it up to 120mph.
I have 17" staggered BMW wheels on mine. Running 245 on the front and 255 on the rear.

thats how much i thought it weighed, the 1200-1300 mark. think the capri is 1080kg.
17" 255's!thats huge! nice n expensive too!
capri has 185/60/R13's at the mo diddy wheels. stil does 115+ ive been told :P

Quote from Dooonster :but how does it do on fuel(instant killer there) is it the E36? its just not a first car most people choose so.

SA: top speeds good and all but thats what it said when it was new lol, its not there today unless its being patted by some granny for years, its just slow and when u put the big wheels on it well that dosnt help! i cant even remeber the silly wheels mums had on it but they were 300 quid a tyre

A:ur a new driver ur curiosity will prevail

A 1: till u drive other cars then get back in your lounge room then u will notice it.
i used to hate driving my mums new BMW, something just wasn't right

2: u win that one lol

Not really sure how much of 1% knowledge you have of cars, having something driven by an old lady round town is not a good thing, engine will most likely be coked up and not serviced. Technically big wheels would help top speed (diameter, not width) just slow off acceleration a touch.

And as for point one, yes new bmw are heavy, his isnt a new bmw would say its a bit closer to 1500kg then 1000kg myself. but still light for its size by modern standards.

i think i got confused with their 1st 775 socket MB. uses an old chipset that wasnt made for core2duo's or something.

IIRC the board uses an old chip version that has been tweaked to run the AM2 chips......or it may be the architecture changing.......now im just spouting rubbish as i have nothing better to do

Quote from beefyman666 :Be a genius and bolt them all together. Hmm V24!

Stick that in your... Capri and... floor it!

Dont tempt me!
My uncle would be up for doing that, he used to do that kinda thing. Mustang V8 mid engined ford thames van for example used to pull wheelies. maybe a 4wd twin V8 capri? engine at each end....ohh the posibilities!

yeah i was hoping for in a few months getting the amd 5000 black edition. but as the celeron is a 775 board i may just get one thats dual core compatable and get a good Intel chip when i get the money.
machine #2 has a geforce 5700le
machine#1 is using onboard at the moment. and looks like im loosing the PSU too ill try and work my way round to keeping it but we will see. Thanks guys From what i saw on a website the 2800xp seemed to out-perform the intel celeron every time. but i guess if u take everything else into account itd be faster?
Best salvageable system

Hi guys! Another one of these threads, though this one is a little diffrent. i have two computers here.

Intel Celeron D (pentium?) 2.53 ghz (possibly 533fsb?? the standard speed anyway)
DDR 2 - 512MB 667mhz
PCI-e slot
80gb SATA Hard drive

OR

AMD Athlon 2800xp (barton core 2.0 ghz 333fsb)
1.5gb DDR 400mhz
AGP slot
80GB IDE hard drive

the Intel pc wil need a new mobo (cheap one) to get running. But what i want to know is, which one would be best for gaming/LFS and paint shop pro etc?
Is it worth fixing up the intel one or just spending an extra £40 or so on the AMD machine? would like a nice list of pro's and cons. Thanks in advance!
