What was your laptime? lol

Huh the pits started flooding. I would like rain but that was a bit too much lol.

It looks like its almost guaranteed to rain either in the quali or race.

Exciting...

I know from eye tests that I have a bit of trouble differentiating hues, so I'm quite pleased:

I really don't know actually, just thinking about the worst rain races I could remember.

And never say never, though you're right it shouldn't.

As for predictions, if it doesn't rain I think Kimi might be able to take it, but if it does rain Mc seem much stronger than Ferrari so I would say Hamilton. I'd like to say Kovalinen could win one but it keeps going wrong for him.

Quote from tristancliffe :The Olympics in Britain? Probably be the same as previous olympics really...

They say the Olympics stadium will be so big it will cause a small black hole to appear.

Or was that something else?

Quote from mookie427 :if you're a fan of Rossz you need to get My Downfall, it's an absolutely epic album. Hell, if you're a fan of Venetian Snares you need to get all his albums, although I suspect you have quite a few?

I recommend if you don't already have them:
printf("shiver in eternal darkness"/n); - his first proper release
Meathole - has the absolute brutal track 'Szycag'
Winnipeg is a Frozen S**thole - the most aggressive, hate-filled breakcore album I own
Huge Chrome Cylinder Box Unfolding - a intricate, complicated masterpiece
Doll Doll Doll - features the epic 'All The Children Are Dead'
Cavalcade of Glee and Dadaist Happy Hardcore Pom Poms - happy, bouncy, brilliant
Songs About My Cats - absolutely awesome, only just got into listening to it

Thanks for pointing those out. I haven't been listening to him for long so I need most of those

Quote from Becky Rose :Interesting comment at the bottom of the source code for that page for the more geekily inclined.

Yep lol, and the bit that says:

if (!(typeof worldHasEnded == "undefined")) {
document.write("YUP.");
} else {
document.write("NOPE.");
}

I don't know if this has been posted yet but:

http://hasthelargehadroncolliderdestroyedtheworldyet.com/

On a serious note, even though my studies of particle physics seem like a distant memory, I look forward to seeing what they make of the tests in October.

And seeing people get all worried about the world being destroyed is quite entertaining too

I'm far from an expert of this type of music (I'm a guitarist) but I have gotten into Infected Mushroom and Venetian Snares quite a bit.

Rossz Csillag Alatt Született is a great album.
New pedals or a G25?

I have a DFP right now and I'm quite happy with the wheel, but getting more and more frustrated with the pedals (mostly the brake).

If I upgrade, would it be better to go for a G25 or just pedals that are a similar price?

I like the look of the Act Labs RS2006, but can someone tell me how much shipping to the UK would be? or if there is a chance of buying some from the UK.

Basically I just want something with a better feeling brake pedal. I'm not quite sure what my budget will be yet, but under £200 for sure.

lol @ a keyboard causing lag.

Well glad you fixed it, enjoy the game!

Yeah it was the sound that caused problems for me also. I had to change the number of audio chanells to 12 in the audio.cfg before the game was playable, it kept crashing before that, but no lag though just random freezes.

Quote from StableX :I think for less than 100, it could be an ebay job

I need to find someone from the UK who can sell me a Act Labs set, otherwise shipping and duty are a bit much...

No luck on eBay though

Quote from Mackie The Staggie :How are these 4/5 drivers supposed to come to an agrement without a rule book. Personal interptation differs, as we have seen, from one to the next.

Yeah good point, 4-5 experienced drivers with a rule book then

Quote from Bean0 :I think they would just full course yellow and bring out the safety car.

I seem to have a vague memory of them doing this somewhere before, can anyone confirm it ?

I was thinking of something like 1994 in Japan, but yeah, it depends how heavy and fast it comes down, like always.

Talking of setup, does anyone know of some good pedals not more than £100 that are standalone?

Yeah I know this should be posted in hardware, but go on, tell me anyway

Quote from samjh :They'll cope just like they have at any other rainy race. But I will feel most sorry for the poor sod pulling over 3Gs around Di Lesmo or Parabolica when the rain hits. :yikes:

Yeah loooots of people off. In which case they probably would have to stop the race, but lets hope not.

Hmm, god knows.

Try looking here and if you can't find a solution post there, they will have a better idea than us.

Hope you get it working.

Strange. Try using both RichardBurnsRally_NoSSE.exe and RichardBurnsRally_SSE.exe, running it without the CD (1.2 lets you do this). If that doesn't work post the contents of RichardBurnsRally.cfg and I'll see if anything is wrong.

If it just suddenly rains during this race I don't know how anyone will cope, they would have to red flag it proberly?

Anyway I'm looking forward to a race of non-controversy lol.

Quote from Mackie The Staggie :Hang on, are you saying that if it could be proved a penalty, by science and fact......that you would still not recongise it and disagree.

Well what I'm really saying is, just scrap the rule book for a second. Maybe get 4-5 past F1 drivers who know what racing is about to make consistent decisions and who obviously have more experience.

Kinda like what Jackie Stewart has said:

Quote :Like Lauda, Stewart believes the officiating system in F1 – with a permanent FIA race director (Charlie Whiting) and advisor (Alan Donnelly) but different stewards from race to race – has caused inconsistent decision-making and needs to be overhauled.

“F1 attracts the largest capital investment in sport, but it is being overseen by people who are not doing it full-time and we get inconsistent decisions,” said Stewart.

“In football, rugby, tennis or cricket you have professional referees and umpires who do their jobs day in, day out, and you have accountability.
“We need that in motorsport.”

That would make me happier.

Quote :Triple world champion Niki Lauda condemned the verdict as landing F1 in its “biggest mess ever” and said it would drive people away from the sport, while fellow legend Sir Stirling Moss branded it “an absolutely appalling decision”.

Cool well I have these people on my side

EDIT: I hear ya samjh

Quote from Patrick Symonds :"It raises lots of interesting questions, and I am not talking about 'Are the FIA on the side of Ferrari?' We have to believe that they are impartial, the sport would not exist if we didn't believe that.

"But I think it does call into question (the sport's) philosophy, because everyone is saying we need more overtaking in Formula One, we need more excitement, and we need more personalities.

"And yet it seems to me that everything that actually happens seems to be against that.

"Here we had a great race with people really challenging each other and for why? If it's taken away, then why take that risk?"[/I]

I agree with this guy, and this is the reason I am against the penalty. And I can understand why people have different opinions on this but I just hate it when the championship is decided off-track and over an incident that didn't really affect the race outcome anyway.

No amount of argument or proof will change my opinion of this, and I guess for the people who think the penalty was justified no argument of proof will change it for them. So I'm just going to try and forget about all this until the decision on the appeal comes through, I've said what I feel about the issue.

Quote from spanks :wow...I can't wait to crash a 79 lotus f1 car haha

If any F1 car makes it into iRacing I will be jumping for joy A 70's or 80's F1 car would sooooo good. No offence to LFS but the BF1 is about the best modern F1 sim experience you can get these days, and its not exactly great.

iRacing has the bumps and the noise and the feel to make it something special.
