You have 3 unlocks available, you are using 1 and 2 are in reserve. If you use 2 or 3 per week, every Friday you will get 1 more.
Every time you logged to your account after the game was played by someone else, you are spending 1 of those 3 unlocks. So keep that in mind, I guess different people logging to LFS on the same computer isn't a great idea....
Are you aware that iRacing costs literately hundreds of dollars?
In a situation like yours, enjoy demo until Christmas and then spend 15 bucks on S1 or even whole 30 on 99% of what LFS offers at the moment. S3 brings only one track more ATM, so I wouldn't go for that if I was you.
You don't have to go straight to S3 license.
From what you have suggested, buying S1 license would bring you almost exactly what you are looking for (see here https://www.lfs.net/contents) and it costs only about 15$
But what about "More robust multiplayer system", aren't we better protected from those attacks now (I'm really a technical noob, so don't mind me asking )?
You shouldn't have bought S3 license straight after 10 years break. You should have gone through the forum first where you could find tenths of threads about the topic you are rising now. It's all there...
Not one of us is satisfied with the progress, on the contrary... but, if you remember, it is December 2008 when it all started . New tire physics which development stretched to the next almost 10 years. You should've asked for advice before buying the license, not just buy it and then start a rant
LFS is "as is" kind of software. You buy it with no guaranties for future developments, Scawen himself said that a few times. Buy it if you like it, don't buy it if you don't.
Man, I'm sure you haven't tried FO8 yet Taming that beast is still quite challenging for me even after 11 years of playing. And it feels everything but boring. I suppose LX cars too... I don't drive them much.
Just driving them is one thing, but trying to be competitive, as guys above suggested, is totally different story if you have passion for doing so.
The sign "FINISHED" stays only for a few seconds and then just moves to showing your final position. But if that's not enough, MandulAA gave you a good suggestion
About that: when I open LFS fullscreen, then plug the wheel in, it doesn't respond unless I go windowed mode. So it has been a routine for me for years to go to window mode and back to fullscreen and then I press all three pedals a few times for LFS to calibrate them (wheel is calibrated automatically).
Also last night: after (one of the million) crash(es that I've had ) FFB became weaker, so I had to increase the value while racing.
It happened before, so I suspect it's in the program, suspension values got different and thus the steering got lighter. But it never got inverted, so far
I'm not sure if we are thinking about the same corner. I'm talking about the second to last corner in WE1 configuration where, if you put the rear tire a bit over the end of the kerb, it throws the car so violently.
(screenshot attached)
Maybe ironing a bit that end of the kerb would do until new tire physics are introduced?
