Quote from Pistolero 667 :In multi most of racers are 4 or 5 seconds faster. Setups i think...

It does take a bit of time to get close to World record lap times (and some people drive close to that on some servers - remember they have years and years and years of experience).

LFS has quite a lot of stuff to offer. Have a look at the LFS Manual.

Feel free to ask questions and drive safe!

(PS: on multiplayer - when you are on track with a car, type in chat "/w wr" to query the current world record for the current car/track combination. Your LFSWorld PB can be queried using "/w pb". There are more useful functions like that).

Thanks for the screenshot; I cannot notice anything irregular. They all look okay.

When you say it works great with other games - are they also on PC running via G HUB? Or Xbox?

I'm not sure if its relevant; but maybe this post would help/has some relevance? Maybe the wheel is still in Xbox mode?

If you join the track (car in pit/track) and press "shift + c" to reinitialize controllers, does it make any difference?

Try a different USB port to plug in the wheel and check if that makes any difference.

Have you made any hardware changed other than what's been listed on the first post (changed any power adapters cable to the PC)?

Rolling back on the G HUB updates might be possible, to troubleshoot. But then again I'm sure a few of LFS racers use the same wheel and would have encountered the same issue if the G HUB update has messed up something...

Its better to check with Logitech support/forums (if any) before doing anything drastic...

Quote from MusicRacerAu :Hi.. needing something to pass the time during this whole corona madness...

Hey there! Crazy times indeed... LFS is pretty immersive with wheel (and more so with VR), but it can be pretty additive and entertaining with keyboard/mouse. Most of us started off that way many moon ago Big grin

Quote from Pistolero 667 :With next level V3 motion, Valve index VR headset, Fanatec Direct drive wheel and buttkiker, The formula BMW on Blackwood is just amazing!

Hello and welcome! Glad to hear that you're having so much fun in LFS with your impressive setup.

Hi!

I haven't used a similar wheel/G-HUB so I don't have any first hand experience on this...

It it possible to plug in your wheel and play LFS without G-HUB? As a troubleshooting step to see if G-HUB is causing the issue?

Is it possible to attach a screenshot of your Options>Control once the wheel is plugged in (to see if anything is amiss)? Please select the Axes/FF tab to see the assigned axes (I wonder if the axes aren't assigned to steering and pedals...).

First, double check if axes have been assigned?

Quote from Scawen :Of course the moon and planets are a way lower priority than getting the tyres sorted out. So I don't imagine seeing the moon very soon.

My heart skipped a beat with the opening post. Love your passion and the attention to detail when it comes to LFS. Keep it up!

Yeah, the initial players and those of us who have been at it for a few years (a while back), may or may not be around forever - but I'm sure the kids growing up now will be as blown as away as most of us were when we first tried out LFS. Heart

Wow, good stuff!

Was this the biggest LFS-related prize? There was a VWS given out back in the day, too, right? What else have been noteworthy prizes?

A M6!

Quote from MarcoLiverpool :I am driving with my T150 on a huge selfmade rig mad from PVC Pipes. Since one week I upgraded from a 22' Screen to a 32' which means an absolute new racing experience to me.

Hey Oliver! Welcome to LFS! Do you have pics of that rig? Would love to see that!

Hello everyone! Wave

How are you all doing?

There have been many people from across the world that we have raced with, seen online or on the forums. Some folk are still here and some have disappeared over time - but I'm sure that some do still pop back in, time to time (like me).

What have you guys been up to lately?

Quote from stig902 :Hello, is it banable to use skins in public servers?

Hey there, welcome to LFS! Nope, usually there ain't any issues with using skins in public servers.

However the following might be causing some issues for you...

1) At present there is a test patch on going, with some changes to the current version, which as caused some issues with skins not loading. You can read more info about it in the relevant thread.

2) Skins are basically the "skin" or the paint job/stickers on the car. These are allowed online. However, there are 3rd party add-ons which change the actual shape over the vehicle in game - these are not allowed online due to wierd glitches in-game. You might be getting banned automatically if you are using these.

3) Offensive skins might get you banned from servers.

4) Using a specific type of skin (i.e. cop car skin) on a "cruise" server, might get you banned (hopefully after a warning or two),as they have their own rules for the game play in that specific server.

There are a few posts on the forum regarding mouse settings for drifting:

I searched and came across this (not sure if its what you are looking for, as I've never driven with a mouse);

Quote from Fors :I have
0.80 Center reduction
10.00 Control rate
Personaly cus i like having " fake " FFB, slow in the middle.
I can adjust the sens on my mouse tho to get the perfect speed for that.
So you might have to adjust the speed of your mouse.

It takes a few hours to get used to it, ive driven like that since the start of S2.
Both for Racing/Drift.

Best would be to search the forums for best keyboard setup. I've heard that once you get used to it, driving with mouse (mouse + keyboard) is much better than just using the keyboard...

Try these settings:
https://www.lfs.net/attachment/108432

Quote from rageshgr :Personally feel return rate should be between 40-80% of the steer rate. I also change my steer/return/limit according to track/car combo.

For AS3/FXR I use:
Steer rate: 0.79
Return rate: 0.41
Limit Multiplier: 1.01 - 1.03 (depending on setups)

My PB with this setting is 1:42.55 which is 1.95 seconds (101.8 %) outside the HL WR.

I use higher rates on tracks like Fern Bay where quick direction changes are required

I use much lower limit multiplier for RWD cars like FZR, XRR.

Hello to other new drivers! Hope you have a great time here with LFS... if you have any questions, post away in these forums and I'm sure someone will help you out! Smile

Well, a downside of that is someone who's having trouble downloading, installing or using LFS the first time will not be able to post their issues.

Yes, I know you can contact the devs via the web page or use the search function to sort out whatever the issue that they've got.

How about restricted access instead? Limit areas of the forum that a new users can post in - they need to drive x km online / upload a hot lap etc to obtain access to all public areas.

Until then they can only post in a dedicate sub forum?

What do you mean by making curves red? As in the re-colouring the green designs red colour? I'm confused...
