The thing is, you cant tell he isnt grateful from a forum post...for all you know he was shouting and jumping with joy when his parents said they would pay. His wording did sound a little self centered but give him a break.
You are very fortunate to be at this stage so quickly, you should be proud and try your best. Good luck
They will do a free weekend next time they release some unlocks for a new character. At the moment we have Medic and Pyro, Valve are releasing there unlocks once per time as to not upset balance I think...or just to extend its advertising period or both.
TF2 though is extremely good fun, and its only $19.99..
Thanks mate, I choose the LG L227WT 22" widescreen which you can see on the 'post your LFS screen' thread.
Thanks for all your help, I couldnt afford one of them expensive panels. This one however is miles better than my last one for colours, backlight and viewing angle. Its one uber screen!
Just got a new 22" today, it isnt massive but its big enough. Also very impressed with these newish LG TFTs, the colours don't noticeably change until at extreme angles and even then they are still good.
Sorry for the quality of the pic, took it on a phone...so.
Also I have...logitech speakers, headset, wheel and mouse....if they made screens I would have probably got one of them too!
Does xtrememusic have hardware acceleration in games? I know one or two of them dont, its probably the xtremeaudio though. I cant seem to find an x-fi comparison chart.
The internal bay is very handy for me because I am always switching between headphones and speakers. The remote too because I use my computer as a media centre.
I dont mind, a week ago the only racing game I have ever owned for the PC was LFS and richard burns rally...yet I payed £150 for the g25. LFS looks to be the king of physics yet I wanted more racing games to use my wheel with...so I settled to the fact that I already had the more realistic one and any others would feel poor in the physics department. I got rfactor and GRID this very week...rfactor because it does look quite fun despite not being as good as LFS (and I know that because I tried the demo)...and GRID because I had fun playing it even though its arcade.
You have dissapointed me about this mod not being released though, but its just tough on my part.
We're all sim-racers here, and I have to say...I have purchased GRID from steam...why?
I watched a video a few months back about grid with some developer commentary, and he explained they were stepping away from simulation to arcade....I guess Codemasters never managed a good simulation so I see it as a lazy attempt because they cant do a good job at realism. It simply wasnt meant to handle realistically and the aftermath means it handles like no other racing game I have played before. I do enjoy it, I tried it on the PS3 as a demo, and the day after I bought it on steam for the PC.
The people here complaining about the unrealistic physics...well...its like complaining Ridge Racers physics arent realistic...its all arcade at the end of the day. You're either going to like the 'unique' handling or your not.
Only £18 on play so meh, I know it wont beat LFS for physics simulation after trying the demo but after watching a couple of mods, like this mod you've made () and the realf1 mod I thought what the hell.
Dont bother about him, most of his replies involve calling people idiots...its how he gets his usual fix of; 'I am way more intelligent than you!'.
Less about that killjoy, you question is broad really...I have a favourite watching sport and a favourite playing sport. Love watching motorsports, and love playing football
If your interested in 'designing' then the best option is really to make a mod or level of an existing game that people play.
If you have Counter strike/team fortress all them source games, you'll have Source SDK on the steam tools which is a user-friendly(ish) editor.
Why not design a map/level from ground up?
Infact, if you create a map for CSS or TF2, I would be happy to bug my friends that run Endless Gaming to host the map on our public servers for a while (maybe even all the time if its popular). Its a proposition that will hopefully give you motivation
Went to an end of year show at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN).
The game's design course from what I saw of their work entailed artistic illustrations followed by implementing them in 3D, whether it was level or a character. Some had done both, and even super-imposed them on PSPs.
They had 2 rooms though, every other department had 1, so it just goes to show it is a popular thing to do at the moment...so you'll need to have the willpower to be one of the best.
Red Orchestra started out as a mod, but they won the Nvidia 'Make Something Unreal' contest...along with a nice cash prize they also got complete rights to the Unreal 2k4 engine to use it from thier own commercial use. I say it was well earned because I havent found an FPS with this sort of simulated realism yet. If you wiki Red Orchestra theres a section that details some mods on thier.
I once spent about 15 minutes trying to snipe an opposing sniper, he was that far away I couldnt tell how high I had to aim lol. Great satisfaction when I finally killed him.
Also the tank's dont take linear damage, its not like a 3 hits and your dead structure, you have to hit the right places. I survived 10 minutes of punishment in a German Panther tank simply because I parked the tank ontop of a hill just far enough for my teammate to have visual on the enemy tanks....and the tanks returning fire kept hitting the front sloped armour, their shells just kept deflected off. It was great fun.
