I saw it was £15 to get unlimited calls to US & Canada landlines and mobiles phones, I thought brilliant...I'll use this to call some friends. So I signed up to it.
Now on my first call, her phone went after 15 minutes and then found out later you get charged for INCOMING calls...well at least for her particular mobile phone plan.
So just a quick question, what Canadian mobile companies offer a pay as you go plan what doesnt charge for recieving calls....an idea I find moronic.
I get a lot of people that 'text speak', I don't mind American variations such as:
(American / English)
humor / humour
tire / tyre
movie / film
gas / petrol
mom / mum
I don't use them but I'm not going to be a stubborn arse because at the end of the day I know what they mean...well if an English person uses American terms maybe
Just text speak winds me up, because many people do this now and while I understand the purpose of it...people have started using it on everything but hand writing. There's a point where it becomes counter-productive because it takes me 30 minutes to read a 200 character long text message!
I feel sorry for the people who have to decode an English person's message into English, especially those not natively speaking the language.
the graphics card is already installed...its the card in it with the fan...everything you have thats not in the computer is not needed...it should work from the box..
Just plug everything in...screen, mouse, keyboard, power and sound...press the power button...
You'll need to install an operating system if you didn't select to have one.
I have always gone with Nvidia myself, but looking at the price VS performance ATi look easily the best choice, even considering the 275gtx.
I have to admit if my motherboard was hybrid crossfire/sli I would have probably gone with what I know and stayed with Nvidia, but I'm not 'wasting' my money on an ATi product, the card is much better than the one I have especially at my resolution with AA/AF, and its half the price of what I originally payed for my 8800GTX.
I genuinely do think the games looked crisper and better on my uncles computer (using the same monitor) then what they do on mine, and he's on a 4870.
"Note - All systems are built and installed on demand and usually ship within 48 hours of the order being placed. During exceptionally busy periods this time can increase by 48 hours. The system can be supplied assembled with or without your choice of installed operating system but is supplied without keyboard, mouse, speakers or monitor (all of which are available elsewhere in this on-line store)."
You should give them a call, they should have built it for you.
Thanks for all your help, strongly leaning towards the 4890 tbh, as said I could always add another...
I found the comprimise with the 4850x2 card vs 4890, and that is...the card is pretty loud even when just watching a film, and also uses more power than the single 4890 core.
So yea its pretty much there in front of me to do it.
Good information though! Thing is I can't really wait...I was gunna stick with the 8800GTX but already offered to my cousin for £50 with my old PSU...he has no computer atm and would rather get em both sorted asap for some TF2 fun!
Would 2 X 4850 cards be better than the single card 2x4850?
Yea...I went for cheaper parts...originally was going to go for an i7 but ended up doing a 50/50 split on a laptop and upgrade pack for the main PC...(don't ask but that laptop is like an omen in this house).
Here's the exact spec as it stands...I would post pics but my cable management is embarrasing at the moment!
Case and PSU
Hiper Osiris
Zalman 6-channel fan controller
Replaced the case fans with 3 X Noctua Vortex Control fans
Corsair 750W PSU
Main Specs
MSI FX790-GD70 Motherboard
AMD Phenom II 550 Black Edition (Thermalright extreme heatsink with 2X Enermax Magma fans)
2X2GB Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600MHz 9-9-9-24
Creative fatality pro sound card 8800GTX - yer this is the last part to be replaced
So yea...I spend a wee bit more on the cooling to overclock it which I haven't bothered as of yet...all I can say it MASSIVE jump in fps from my last computer.
Now, I'm definately looking at an ATi solution since my motherboard is Crossfire only...infact it has 4 GPU slots...why?...I dunno...
My budget would be up to £180 or there abouts but preferably not more than that. I see the 4850X2 card is better and the same price as a 4890, but surely there was some price modelling with ATI...there must be a comprimise with more power for the same price...this is where I get confused. See I could potentially get a 4870 since they are around £110, and buy another one just after...but is it worth it...guess I need to figure that one out myself. A few options...any recommendations?
It will play them easily, and pretty sure on max settings...since my graphics card (8800GTX) is around the same as the 4850 so yea. And my last CPU played games well too...and that was alot worse than the one in that one...
What I would recommend Jordan is the PC configurator...you seem to get more for your money, like a bigger PSU of the same brand (and Corsair are practically the best)...faster RAM (although cant see timings, so take with a pinch of salt) Not only that you can get a 1TB hard drive on top and get the same price with the difference of a few quid, or even a better motherboard.
My mum recently changed her name since she got married so have to inform the DVLA. She had a paper provisional that lasted 50 years. She sent an app off with photo, and they sent her a new 10 year one free of charge.
Theres a section on the application for just changing your licence from paper to photo.
They banned them for the fact that they KNEW the wheel was loose yet continued to race. What are the chances you get hit by a flying wheel? What are the chances you get hit by a small spring flying through the air?
