Quote from LFSn00b :And we have a team with Räikkönen and Häkkinen

I can imagine it now, the interview room with a McLaren 1-2. WHAT EXCITEMENT those guys would bring to the podium interviews.

I'm not a big fan of spa, donnington, or laguna seca. personally I like Interlagos and the Hungaroring.

But rather than pay for real tracks I'd rather just hold out for S3 and get more LFS tracks. I enjoy what they've made for us.

Quote from Shotglass :
and yes it is nanny business ... besides a tc wont take all skill out of throttle controll its just there so drivers dont lose it in case the do mess it up
which btw is very easy to do very much like not taking your foot off the pedal if the engine is screaming at high revs isnt

isn't that the same as taking all the skill out of it?illepall

couldn't you install LFS on her laptop, unlock it, then copy the folder to your computer after that?

Quote from mrodgers :I thought "burning the tires off" was new when we got the S2 demo back in April of 05 .

I think I remember everyone going nuts over tire temps and such. After all, we didn't have pitstops in S1, did we?

disclaimer, I was never an S1 driver, only S1 demo. I bought both licenses when S2 was released. So, I may be wrong.

ok, you couldn't technically "burn them off" but you could spin them and get next to zero traction.

does nobody remember it that way i do?

Quote from AndroidXP :I hate to break it to you, but last time I checked the longitudinal grip curve hasn't changed at all since S1. I can't remember sitting at the start burning the tyres back then, either. I guess it's just your imagination.

you don't remember not being able to "floor it" at the start of a race before?

Quote from (SaM) :The reason people didn't full throttle before in S1 is because the engine damage was more severe then, if you'd full throttle at the start, you could already damage your engine before the race!

In S2, the engine damage isn't that severe anymore so people just full throttle without having to care.

that's not it at all. with cars in S1 if you gave full throttle you would just sit there burning your tires off while everyone who was feathering the throttle would blow past you. the starts were FAR more fun when it took some skill.

Quote from Flycantbird :I think I do recall what you are referring to. I think it's still there, but not as severe. I know in Fox or MRT you have to do some slight wheel and throttle feathering to get the maximum start. But I do recall there being a lot more cars spinning tires ( or spinning sideways) at the green in the past.

back then i used to race mostly the FOX and the GTR cars. if you gave full throttle at the start you'd be left sitting in a cloud of smoke. i miss those days. it's like we've got launch control now. :weeping:

Race starts after last patch.......

I can't remember if this came up or not because the last change was quite a while ago but......

I remember before the last change that if you gave 100% throttle at race start you would sit there and spin your tires while most other people passed you by. Now it seems that 100% throttle is the best way to start every race.

I loved it when you had to feed the throttle in "back in the day"

Anyone else miss this?

Btw, if you want my image edits removed I'll delete them right away. I'm not wanting to make fun of anyone in those pics, you do know that?
If those pass as harmless fun then so be it, but just PM me right away if you have second thoughts.

The kart track looks like a dreamland, I have to say. And congratulations too!

isn't there some sort of anti-monopoly law to stop this?
and did they simply sell out for money or was it taken over in some sort of hostile move?

Here's the situation:

I went down to Venezuela to marry my Venezuelan wife for the second time for her family to attend. We did the first wedding up in Canada. Related thread.

My cousin and his wife also came down for the wedding. Two of my wife's cousins were (nicely) fighting over who would be paired up with him to walk down the isle in the wedding party because they wanted the photo with him. Here's were the problem starts.... the photographer got a picture of each couple in the wedding party EXCEPT them.

I've included 5 pictures. She is in the purple dress in 3 of the photos, He is on the right in the other 2 photos. If someone could put the two of them together with some sort of wedding background I would be GREATLY APPRECIATIVE. From looking at the photos I think one of them should be flipped on the Y-Axis so they are facing each other.

Can someone help me out please?

Terrible to hear.

Can someone post a picture of the style of kart he was driving please? are superkarts the ones where you lay on your back like olympic one man louge (sp?). if so, they look fun, but i´d be terrified to race them competitively. i´ll stick to regular karting

a year ago or so i downloaded an entire race with onboard footage from valentino rossi´s bike. it wasn´t only one camera, it was forwards for a while and backwards for a while, but it was REALLY NICE to have no commentators babbling and just focus on the sound and the action.

Quote from Gabkicks :how so? he aint the smoothest driver... but he is the world champion.

its like he makes the car understeer so there arent any suprizes when he opens up the throttle.

keep in mind that he´s coming out of the pits on tires that aren´t fully up to temperature and only does one lap.

in north american Champ Car racing they show this camera angle every race, at least they did last year. it´s quite interesting to see just how little they can see down there. you should see it in a street course like monaco, it´s nuts illepall

i just came across this thread and i´m not reading the 100 previous posts, so pardon me if i´m repeating something that someone has already said.

the last few imports i´ve owned wouldn´t even let a car start in gear without activating a "clutch interlock override". yet another reason to not buy domestic. (ford, gm, crysler in this case as i´m in canada)

Well, the beers all made it unbroken and unfrozen.

i put each bottle into a ziplock bag, then dropped it into a sock. i pulled the sock all the way up, gave it a twist and then looped the same sock back again. i did it again with another sock to give 4 sock layers.

Quote from wheel4hummer :I didn't know the Chevy Corvtte C6R was made in japan or germany....

you're picking one extreme example.

go buy 10 fords, 10 hondas, 10 VW's that are all 10 years old with 200,000 kms on them and see how they're all running.

and i'm not sure if fords that are sold outside of north america are the same or different. i've heard they're much better outside of north america.
