Quote from Crashgate3 :After the first page or so of speculation, I'm glad it's the new Scirocco, not the '87 version. Its about time LFS got a modern looking car.

What would its three-letter acronym be? VWS?

We should get a subaru and just call it STI. And people will be wondering if they want to get the game because they might get an STI. (get it?)

Quote from Kid222 :Well, i can imagine Clio V6 being a looker in USA, but imho here in Europe it is average car.

Eh, we need to hire more European designers to do OUR econo cars. Or there must be more imports... I want to just be able to go "oh, sorry, guy, can't take you to lunch, my car is a two seater, guess you will have to eat the crappy school lunch today." "what? you have a hatchback" "it's a clio v6".

Quote from Huru-aito :Nothing wrong with it, actually it could be a much better choice for a new car than what the Scirocco is. But it just happens so that the Clio V6 is no longer in production, and in addition it's not a Clio V6 they're giving away as a prize in that competition but a Scirocco.

It's about whatever opportunities come across LFS's path, not about what people want or what they would prefer..

I get it.

Screw that, I want an old school Caddy 53, Austin 7, or a deuce coupe.

(no, seriously the caddy and austin were the first cars with the three pedal, shifter layout)

Quote from Dajmin :But they all look different. Big fins in the 50s, lots of chrome.

Did the G-body cars have chrome and fins? The ford monte carlo?

Quote from JJ72 :and from that perspective the AMG mercs are modern muscle cars as well

So the diesel like engine makes the AMG merc's Muscle cars?

I have to kind of hover my feet actually, when I brake gradually, until the vaccume goes away. Actually, nevermind, it would be nice if it was gone. I think power brakes are enough.

Oh yes, reminds me of my buddy... he bought a celica, he is now stripping it down and rebuilding a monster... a 500 bhp 77 celica with a Mark III supra soul. He is just a Toyota fanboy.

You know, I watched drift bible, and it seems like, drifting is not about the horse power or smoke. It's about car control. The main thing that they want to do is to slide out naturally and manipulate the car as if it was your own body.

They keep saying that "dynamic drifting" is the ultamate form of drifting. High speed sliding.

Quote from f4sttr@ck :well as for power to weigh ratio, i agree, the power to weight is better, however at a starting price of 34,300 American dollars, ill stick with the camaro for 15,000 or less. the revs, im not sure, would have to find it. And for the job, since they are growing so fast they are hiring pretty much anyone who applys, and my mom does the payroll there, so i have a bit of an advantage over other ppl

Is there any freelance stuff around the company? Can you hook me up?

Quote from Rustic-Imposter :Hey mate, your right, I don't know you. Whether you like it or not you do have an attitude, everybody does. I am also a young driver, i am 19 years old. My parents have had farms since i was born and i have driven many, many cars in these low traction environments since my early teens - so don't feel that i am trying to condescend you, i am simply giving my opinion as a peer. I have many friends who are into performance cars, they are all very experienced and have spent a huge amount of time and money learning to drive properly. Yet i have still seen too many crashes to condone a young male in that sort of car. Kids in fast cars is just out right dangerous - no matter who you think you are!
To be honest, if you were really keen on performance driving, you probably would be buying a Silvia or some sort of well balanced light car. Camaro's are cruisers with straight line power, they suffer terribly in the corners let-alone on a race track. The fact that you think 0-60 times are important when buying a first car concerns me.

Maybe he wants to drift or drag?

Quote from f4sttr@ck :Well to answer your questions, the Camaro comes with both auto and manual transmission options. I am choosing the 6 speed manual transmission.

And again as for the american V8 being the inline 4. It seems most 4's that can keep up with one are turbocharged, and hey, i can turbo mine too

But then again, how high can it rev? The Honda S2000 has better power/weight ratio, and it's not a torquey car.

Quote from Luke.S :Ok.

Man that camero is sexy i am so jelous

Not really, the fourth generation camaro is kind of... bubbly... not that aggressive. But the new one has a really aggressive stance.

Oh, and by the way @ Jakg, the only people who don't deserve nice cars are the spoiled brat kids who just want to pose in the cars. Who destroy the brakes, and ruin the gear box of the car just because they can't drive. Same deal with the stupid CEO's that drive Porsche 911's those knobs are the ones that give the 911 the bad name. The boxter is a poser car, I have nothing to defend it with.

Quote from [RF]-art555 :Its US, obviously it is

Actually, kids these days are actually environmentally conscious, so we want manual cars.

Quote from legoflamb :Lol same but you have to be careful, I once got to the point where I was having too much fun, overused the brakes, and couldn't get any brake boost, like you I was on some canyon roads. Losing brake boost there is really scary and is not something pleasant to experience.

Actually, I was just covering my brake pedal to prepare to left foot brake for a tight corner, but vacuum assist takes a lot of feedback from the brakes, so I end up depressing the brake pedal without knowing.

Actually, it is kind of easy to lock up the brakes. I remember this incident back a few years when I was getting my license. I was driving with my mom on our local canyon road outside out house. I have no ABS on my Lexus ES300, and a garbage truck pulled out in front of me from a neighborhood, and I had to brake quickly, I just tapped to brakes quickly, and I heard skidding sounds, but I did stop relatively immediately and was able to get out of the way of the truck.

Quote from J@tko :In America, the number of cylinders in your engine tells everyone else how large your penis is. A V8 (but of course, it has to have V8 plastered all over it) means you have a large penis, anything Japanese and you have a sumo wrestler's penis. Anything else and you have a medium penis.

What do you mean sumo penis?

Quote from f4sttr@ck :actually now not many own V8's anymore. You see more Honda's and Mazda's then anything else. Most ppl have 4 or 6 cylinder engines, more 4's though. As for the guy above u that said Americans fail at making cars, Not particularly. American cars are great. I admit some are quite heavy but most sports cars are on the lighter side. Although I must admit them trying to model the new ones after the old muscle cars is stupid. Making them heavy and they are way to wind resistant. Although they do look good.

Meh, I like light sports cars. My buddy is in to Gran Tourers. But I dislike muscle cars just like I look down upon European gran tourers. And in general, America's cars are mostly gran tourers, so therefore, I don't like American cars. I would like a good Japanese sports car or a European light weight. I am not particularly fond of sports compacts, but okay, they are fun and nice to own.

Quote from f4sttr@ck :I make more money then u may think. And trust me, i can afford it. And i work for my money, no rich family members lol.

Congrats, mind sharing your job description?

Quote from Riders Motion :It still look better than a Ford Ka.

I would rather have a Focus RS or ST, I hope that VW ships the Scirocco state side, and I want the concept rear drive Focus...

Quote from ajp71 :An overweight automatic muscle car is probably going to be far less tempting or enjoyable to drive fast in and as a net result will probably be much less likely to be wrapped around a tree than a small hatchback.

Wrong, they don't feel the road as well, so they need to drive faster, and with such a heavy car, it will understeer into a tree around the next turn... I am just talking. (but seriously, wtf with the new dodge challenger being 2 tons?!) But seriously, it's awsome that a kid can buy his own dream car. Each to their own, right?

Oh no, not this again. Look, you are just saying this because of jealousy. The only thing that matters is his maturity level, if he can pay for the insurance, by all means, he can have it.

If he likes it, great. The only time when someone doesn't deserve a car is when the person doesn't understand the mechanics of a car and is only going to buy the car for posing.

Oh, btw, get a European sports car or a Japananese car... Americans fail at making cars. Too much curb weight.

Quote from legoflamb :That was my fault, I should have got the context of the conversation and realized what we were talking about.

Back on topic:
I haven't reduced the the brake boost, I just like how the brakes feel when the vacuum has been depleted.

Yeah, more feedback. . I sometimes get bored at 3am(When I don't feel like reading forums, coding, drawing, playing video games, or watching porn) I go out and drive on our local back road.

I sometimes catch myself riding the brakes a little with my left foot so that I get better feel of the brakes approaching a turn.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YWg3tb5VRs

and there goes my next lfs suggestion: R/C cars!!! would provide some fun moments at BL Car Park

Ah, yes, and have the RC cars be equipped with Charges. And have them race against real cars. The real cars either run the RC cars over, or the real cars get blown up.

You guys are going WAYYY off topic.

Rotary engines suck, they are an attempt to cheaply manufacture racy engines such as the high end Honda engines. They melt and warp easily. Therefore, they fail. End of convo.
