Sorry, but I haven't come around to updating this article yet (and have, quite honestly, forgotten it completeley recently ). I don't think that I will update it soon, but if you look for a solid PHP5 insim-platform, check PHPInSim in the programmers section.
Did you ever bother to take a look at, lets say, a current Mercedes Benz C-Class limousine? Those are BIG German cars.
German "small" cars have a great advantage, however: Let's compare the Scirocco to the new Fiat 500. The Scirocco might be a bit larger than the 500, but the other difference between those 2 "small" cars is that a person that is taller than, say, 6 feet can still comfortably sit in the German "small" car
Also, come on... most of these "very-small" cars can't be classified as "cars" really... It's more likely they are lunchboxes on wheels!
For anyone asking for screens: Rest assured that this car looks as great in LFS as it does in real life (which is, quite frankly, absolutely freaking great). Me won't say no more :P
sad news to hear, really. They were always benchmark for all the others, the team to beat... and above all, a bunch of nice guys. Now they're gone. A pity
Lemme tell you something, not all of Germany is like Bavaria (Bavaria is not even considered part of Germany in most jokes ). May I suggest Cologne as an alternative? It's a great city, and even if it's only because I live there
There are also already nice components on the market that make it easier to create an OpenID service. My favourite is Zend_OpenId. It has both a provider and a consumer class.
The paddles break very easily indeed because the little "nipples" that push the button inside the wheel in the end are plastic by default, but because this is a problem known to Thrustmaster, they send you a package and you can exchange those things without any problems within 15 minutes. All you need is a screwdriver.
I agree, the pedals of the Thrustmaster RGT are really high-quality and feel very accurate.
Signed. However, I am happy with 270 degrees, completely enough for me
PS: Someone asked if the shifter unit is removable: It is not. The sequential shifter and the wheel are one part.
To me, it looks great already. Opinion: I think it would look much cleaner if you could use a more modern traffic light image there, an image of a traffic light with LED lights. If you wish, I can go out and take photos of those.
Now to you, Scawen... damn you. You are always late on patches, but you also always have the damn best excuses one can imagine. Best of luck to you two with your new child .
Live for Speed is featured in the most current issue of the German GameStar magazine. It is featured in there among other games in the first article about the current GameStar League season.
Translation (of the relevant parts):
The Fanatec Live for Speed premier league found its 30 elite drivers. In a dramatic qualification they were able to secure their place in the highest class of the GameStar League. In the first of 2 qualification groups, GT-A, The two LFS-drivers Hendrik von Eye and Johannes Scheuerle grimly fought for the first place - in the end, von Eye was able to claim it for him. In the second group, GT-B, things happened to be nothing less serious: With Nils Naujoks, one of the best LfS drivers in the world was on first place here. The level of skill in the qualification was generally very high: the driver on 16th place only missed qualification by a narrow 20 points.
[[ Stuff about money here; this season of GSL issues more than 30k € worth of cash- and non-cash-prizes; every driver who participates gets money for every race he/she participated in ]]
Game-TV broadcasts the thrilling matches live! The precise broadcast plan is accessible on the internet at www.game-tv.com. We wish the best of luck to all participants - and we hope our spectators will have a lot of fun.
Original article written by Stefan Eichner for GameStar.

'Nother question that might be worth considering: do you guys use Vista?
Microsoft recently brought out a patch that was meant to enable the users to install SP1, but cancelled the distribution of it since they had to admit it caused a lot more problems than it solved.
So, even though its unlikely, if you all have Vista and all have the Update 937287 installed, try to remove it to see if that cures the problems.
