If you want, I can set you up with a dedicated server that runs on the same machine as our other LFS servers. It will be USA based, but it is on a good network and you should get ok pings to it. Just using the actual Halfords Server is out of the question. but like i said, I can set you up with one. Let me know via PM (i get an email when i receive one)... i dont check the forums often.

Buy S2 if you want good racing, thats all there is to it. If you stay with demo... well, all the power to ya... but the arseholes that are blatantly apparent in the demo do not exist in S2. So, let me rephrase:

If you want GOOD, CLEAN and FAST racing, buy S2!

And just some friendly advice to the REST of the demo racers... you guys are damn lucky you have access to a demo! Especially with online capabilities and no time restrictions! This post is an example of a useful topic!

If you other demo racers out there cant make posts about anything other the "ZOMG I WANT THAT BODY KIT ON MY CAR!!! THE EXTRA 50LBS OF PLASTIC WILL GIVE ME SUPER SPEEEEED!!!" or "ZOMG I WANT A BIGGER TAILPIPE AND NEON DASH LIGHTS!".... stfu please!

thats because we were not correctly informed of the situation, and also the fact that some of our members noticed that you, or someone affiliated with you, were acting like "god" on the server. Not something we condone...

Quote from SamH :Please PM me the S2 licence name of the person whose account you used, thanks.

This is just pathetic and quite immature. Ok, cracking isn't allowed, but do you people have to make it be a PUBLIC WITCH HUNT every time?

I'm not condoning that guy's actions by using a cracked copy of LFS nor the way you guys handle it and allow a complete flame war to start. Completely absurd!

Quote from eXSsnl :Actually, when I see a slower driver up ahead I say "Blue flag let me pass please :: Blue flag let me pass please" once or twice to prevent accidents. Also, when I'm faced with a blue flag I tend to get of the gas and go a bit more wide to let the faster driver pass, might not totally be according to the rules, but it's a nearly 100% guarantee that the faster driver can pass me without causing problems for one of us.

On the other hand, it might be because of the servers I drive on

I'll be sure to push to not let you past then. Maybe even push you closer to that barrier so you hit it.

Ok... i've read thru this entire thread and I have quite a bit to say.

Firstly, a lot of you people are being extremely predjudice against Bryan... i find it absolutely absurd that you guys infer that he was trying to sell it to kids, he's a dealer, blah blah blah. You guys don't know anything more then what he has posted... so why go off on a stupid rant?

Anyways, Bryan, I can say that I have some experience with court and cops.. etc... mind you it was never for any drug-related charge. (I'm definitly not proud of it though, it was about 2 yrs of hell... im not going to go into it though). I will tell you from experience that cops here tend to overcharge everyone that they arrest (Especially the O.P.P.!!!) and just let the courts sort it out. Whatever you do, DO NOT ALLOW DUTY COUNSEL TO REPRESENT YOU! They dont give two shits about what the outcome of your court proceedings. (im talking from experience).

Im assuming this is your first "criminal" offense.... and you are under 18. In all honesty the worst that they are gonna do to you would be probation/alternative measures program. Neither of which result in you haveing a permanant criminal record. I can tell you that the laws surrounding marijunana use in Canada are pretty.... lax. Check out this site www.thepotlawhasfallen.ca (Written by a well known professor at the University of Toronto). That site contains some very valuable information which you might be able to apply to your court proceedings.

As for appearing in court, as many have said to you, be respectful, address the magistrate as "your worship" and show remorse. I'm sure you'll be fine.. especially considering your age. I can almost guarantee that none of the charges will stick.... if any do... it would be the simple possession (but even that's unlikely considering the amount you had on your person).

Bryan if you have any questions, feel free to PM me. I'll try to give you as much advice as i can if you'd like it.

Im definitly not proud of my past, but it gives me the drive to mentor youth who are facing the unfortunate situation of having to goto court.

Quote from Jakg :Says who?

I remember reading it on the site too somewhere and Fanatec has also made numerous references to adding/improving features that "us" (beta-testers) suggest. Whoever ordered their wheels already will obviously miss out on the improvements/features if they decide to implement them.

Quote from Skills :Nice review niels.

It makes me wonder though that if you think that Fanatec has created a G25 competitor after it fixes all the issues, at a $100 dollar premium over the G25, shouldn't it be crushing the competition, not just competing?

One minor nit pick, you mention that the wheel's engine cover is metallic, its actually plastic.

Pretty sure he meant it was metallic in nature... as in shiny plastic. :P

And i'm sure you realize that this isn't the final version of the wheel.

wow.... is Logitech trying to pull an early April Fools prank or something? That looks like a total piece of crap... i'd rather have the OLD DFP then that fugly thing. And not to mention, since they supposedly designed it with Polyphony Digital.... why is there no clutch? Why is there no H-Shift?...... What a let down by Logitech. . I was amazed when I went from my DFP to a G25... it was like night and day...

On the plus side, maybe this means more sales for the Fanatec 911-wheel (yes, i am in love with my 911-wheel) LOL

Quote from oqvist :Teedot I tried the same now was the throttle potentiometer loose for you? It was loose for me and I had to hold it in place when mounting the pedals... Of course the potentiometre wasn´t in the right position so I need to reposition them again... But I can´t see how these pedals will hold the calibration when they are fitted so loose... Only supported by the top cover... Was surprised how small they are the pots on the MOMO Force red was 2-3 times the size.

Gonna have to recalibrate them since now I have a bit of brake, 60 % throttle and no clutch lol.

it took me a good while ... my clutch wouldnt work. the pots are ok... but the mounting is very ... blah

call logitech, you might still be under warranty. Not sure if its 1 or 2 yrs that they cover it for. If you are, they'll send you a new wheel.

Ok, after a couple of days with the wheel I am ready to post my thoughts.

First thing I did with this wheel is remove the foam from under the brake pedal. With that in place, the brakes feel like total rubbish. Even still, they don't feel right.... but it's alot better.

The wheel itself feels quite nice, i like the size. I can't say the same for the shifter or shifter mounts. The h-shifter is easy to mis-shift when its moving all over the place because of the poor mounts. 5th gear is also a bit of pain.... you really have to force the gear lever over and up to get it in. The centering issue is apparent, but not all the time. In LFS it can be fixed rather easily, but in other games such as GT Legends or rFactor it's not.

All drivers except version 0.42.6 cause FFB to be lost in ALL games.

Pedals and Steering occasionally cut out during races (the white/red lights on the wireless USB dongle go out then come back on... all within a second.. but it's enough to TOTALLY ruin someone's fun and race).

Overall, I find this wheel quite nice. I like the size of it over the G25, however the things I have mentioned above need to be addressed.

Quote from dontsimon :I wasn't referring to cosmetics, but quality and build / design decisions. I couldn't give a hoot what they look like in that regard.

Tiny pots, attached to the pedal arm, in a manner which caused all manner of calibration issues with last gen Logitech pedals.

Ah.

Well the pots used in older Logitech wheels such as the DFP and DF were plastic... case and all... just all around cheap. The ones in the 911-wheel are metal... much more durable and shouldn't be susceptible to the pedal problems that plagued the DFP & DF. However only time will tell...

Quote from niels1 :I just took a look at the iinside pictures. Those belts wont wear out. I use the same belts for washmachines. Those last at least 10 years. Its the samew manufactor. They will last. Very solid

Yup they are the similar to what you would find in a car as well. I also saw on the 911-wheel website that they have carbon fibre in the belts to increase strength. Quite cool!
