That Arsenal goal shows how confident they are. Wilshere's volley back to Giroud off his heel was sweet.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :I don't know what people are doing on their phones.

I used to think iOS was OK. I didn't like it, but I thought it was OK. Then I had to upgrade my iPad at work to iOS 7 and that is one ****ing ugly environment!

I see it's continued the trend of adding some features that were in Android two years ago. Maybe it will even get a decent keyboard one day.

Quote from sinbad :Gets expensive very quickly. Insurance really should be compulsory if you have a pet dog imo, for a lot of people that sort of vet's fee would be a very difficult decision, and the poor dog is the one that suffers.

I agree. He is covered, and I can't imagine the claim will be a problem, so we can get on with worrying about the dog.

We haven't had the results of the 24hr ECG yet but our practise has a cardiac specialist who's been doing the diagnosis so no doubt he'll know what the best treatment is. He's definitely got chronic atrial fibrillation though, which is commonly a symptom of boxer cardiomyopathy, and when the AF is as obvious as it is in my dog it means the disease is the most serious kind. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Four consultations, one course of antibiotics, one anti-inflammatory injection, two ECGs, one ultrasound heart scan, one 24-hour ECG.

For the dog. Current cost approaching £1000. Could've bought two puppies for that!

Quote from Keling :About wireless range:
Even my wireless mouse works just fine from another room with a load-bearing wall blocking it.

I changed the batteries in my trackpad at work last week, and took it on a little tour of the office. I was switching apps with it from about 50ft away, even from one of the conference rooms at the opposite end from my desk. Bluetooth range is decent!

He's talking about a slightly different wheel but for all I know it's based on the same platform, just a different physical wheel attached to it. Mine is the older Driving Force Pro.

For a budget wheel it's pretty good, the wheel itself is well built and reliable but the pedals will be the first thing to fail - mine failed under warranty and they sent me a replacement. Actually that's one good thing about Logitech, they will replace their stuff if it fails without argument.

I agree the feel of the pedals is nothing like a car and yes the force feedback makes for a lot of noise when steering quickly - the sound of nylon gears whirring quickly is not great.

All that said, I've never tried the G models and never tried any better pedals either. I can't really justify the cost because I wouldn't use them enough.

Incidentally I do much prefer to use a clutch in LFS (I have a second wheel which I plug in purely to use its accelerator as a clutch!). It's very handy in RWD cars when the back end starts slipping, or indeed if you want the backend to start slipping. Also while I've got 900 degrees of steering available on the DFP, I never use more than 420. Although I imagine with the faster (and quieter!) force feedback on the G25/7 wheels you can use even more rotation.

I've only got a Driving Force Pro here, but it's the same mounting mechanism. I just measured the maximum span and it's 50mm.

The G25/7 might be different, you should see if you can find out, maybe another forumite can check for you.

Bear in mind that even if the gap on the G25/7 is 50mm you might be able to find that missing 10mm from somewhere. Maybe by butchering your desk or butchering the wheel. I seem to remember Tristan, years ago, taking a hacksaw to a Logitech Momo wheel to get it to mount on a particular desk.

The part of the Logitech desk clamp that points up and makes it a U-shape, can be removed. Those bits just clip on. Pop them off and you've got an L shape.

Hope that makes sense and answers your question. I can't really tell which part of the installation you're worried about.

Quote from Rappa Z :I know it's only 5 games in, but Arsenal leading the table? WTF?

For a couple of reasons.

Arsenal's "First team" is as good as any in the league. Arsenal's problem is that they don't have a lot of quality cover for their best players, so as the season goes on and injuries take their toll, Arsenal will start to slip down the table.

Also Aaron Ramsey has clearly made up for the time he lost when Ryan Shawcross broke his leg, and is looking like the sort of player we thought he'd become. Signing Ozil was excellent business too. He's a better Fabregas than Fabregas ever was.

That's the thing with Arsenal though. They have a lot of young talent and it's often difficult to judge how strong they'll be at the start of a season because they have so many promising players who are developing very quickly. I still think they'll struggle to stay in touch with the league leaders as their first team players get injured, but when they are fit they're a very strong team.

When Tottenham signed Bale he was a left back. They moved him up the pitch as he developed and he ended up playing on both wings and later centrally as a withdrawn striker. He's been great in every position, but Tottenham ended up playing him centrally because they didn't have any reliable goal scorers.

I would imagine Real bought him to try to emulate the play of FC Bayern though, and he'll be starting on the right wing in home games and maybe the left wing in away games against good opposition.

Quote from flymike91 :If people got to keep their money instead of throwing it into the gov. cesspool, I think they would find more profitable investments than social security disability for people with "emotional problems" or housing for 'refugees'.

Yeah, maybe they could spend it on electrified fences around their property to keep out the millions of homeless starving people you've just created.

What a lovely place to live that would be.

Quote from Woz :The English language is a mess. With rules like i before e except after C which is not a rule at all because there are loads of exceptions.

It's not a rule, it's a rubbish mnemonic probably dreamed up by a primary school teacher somewhere.
