I have been trying to just buy 6 things at a time. This lets me take full advantage of the discount for multiple items, but still leaves me more stuff to buy so I can get the discount on future things that may come out in the future. It also spreads out the total cost and I keep getting that new content feeling over and over again.

Still expensive though, I'm not going to lie. And it doesn't help that it takes about 10 seconds to buy something new, really hard to hold yourself back some times when its that easy.

With the hints about a new track being announced in May, I want to believe that Indy is coming.

Quote from UncleBenny :I don't think so, I don't have surround speakers so I'm pretty sure I put it on stereo.

I also have to turn my volume way up to actually hear anything in iRacing, so when I go back to Windows the volume is like 2 or 3 times as much as what it usually would be. PMD do you have that problem too? That isn't a huge problem since I've gotten into the habit of adjusting the sound going in and out of the game, but I wonder if certain sound cards just don't play nice with iRacing. I've got a SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS, for the record.

Solved my problem. I actually had the pit spotter volume buttons mapped instead of the voice chat, and since I didn't have the spotter on I didn't notice that was what I was turning up so loud. When I actually mapped the right buttons I was able to turn up the voice chat volume and now I can hear people.

Quote from anttt69 :I have a question. If you take the month free trial with access to the Radical & Silverstone & then bail out without renewing. When you do decide to purchase a membership do you still get to keep the Radical & Silverstone?.

Sure do.

Quote from jasonmatthews :Never tried it, never tried Demo either, just went head first into AS Club in the FOX, then couldn't get off the damn thing for a year. Then someone told me there were other cars and tracks

Almost the exact same story for me, I did it with the FOX on BL1 though.

Quote from StableX :I had those issues when I changed the ingame sound to my creative card in the iracing options, rather than what it was originally stating default mapper. When I changed it back the volume increased and voice chat was louder.

I tried going back to default and the in game sounds were still really loud. I wasn't online so I don't know if it fixed voice chat or not, I'll see about that later on.

Quote from SilverArrows77 :really? thats excellent, i was wondering about their server locations. Thats me sold then i think, if they do that

EDIT: yep ill certainly be going into it on short term outlook at first until i get a fair idea of how much i like/dislike it

So you haven't tried it at all yet? Make sure you do the free one month trial through Radical, that way you get a free car and track to start off with.

Edit: apparently this has been mentioned multiple times already

Confirmed that Nationwide Impala SS is coming soon.

Hmm, sponsors on the hood and quarter panel? I thought I remembered hearing something about that at one point, maybe that's coming soon as well?

Quote from sam93 :Does anyone else find it hard to concentrate on school work? I have to catch up on 4 pieces of ICT coursework because I got bored of it and could no longer concentrate on it, so now in the Easter holidays I have been trying to finish it, problem is I can't concentrate on it lol.

I can watch TV or go on various sites on the internet and stay glued to it for ages, but as soon as I have to do work, I just cant concentrate and go off task. I know there are medical type conditions which cause this, which I have, ADHD.

What I am wondering is does anyone have any suggestions that they use to concentrate becuase if I don't finish this work, I wont be able to get into six form.

When I was in school the best thing to do when I absolutely had to finish something was to get as far away from the computer as possible. If I was anywhere near a computer, chances are I'd get distracted.

Unfortunately now at work I have to do everything on a computer. So it is much harder to get anything done. I'm at work right now actually.

I guess it makes sense because they don't want everyone jumping to leagues and not doing the normal weekly schedule. I know people were hoping for more control over their leagues though, especially if you have to pay a fee for it like was mentioned. I don't really care either way because I'm not planning on jumping into any leagues in the near future, I'm kind of enjoying the freedom of not having a scheduled time I have to race during the week.

Quote from PMD9409 :I have this problem too. But the weirdest thing is that if I use my speakers instead of headphones I can hear everything perfectly fine.

Weird, I'm using headphones too. I should try going online without the headphones to see if that works.

Does anyone else have the problem of not being able to hear what other people are saying over the noise of the engine? I mapped the chat volume buttons to keyboard keys and tried to turn it up as high as possible but I still can just barely hear that people are talking.

Quote from spacedskunk :iRacing is grabbing my attention, and its purely because you work in a progressive career. I mean, I would quite happily drive on iRacing, in 1 car over 2 circuits for a few months until I get happy with my ability and until it says I am good enough to progress.

Yeah, having something to aim for is nice. The pro series for the top 250 in road/oval seems interesting. Not sure if I'll ever get to that point, but having a goal like that makes you want to keep improving your driving.

I'm still only Class D but just getting out of the rookie races seemed to improve the quality of driving considerably. From what I've seen so far the ladder system they have set up for iRacing works pretty well.
