News came out today that Penske is running Fords in 2013, are there any Dodge teams even left? Probably knew that new Charger was going to have terrible aerodynamics haha. Too bad though, I don't see Dodge being in the sport too much longer.
If they didn't get penalties for stuff even if it didn't hit the track, then teams would cheat every single week just to see who could get through tech inspection. There would be no reason to not cheat every week if there were no consequences. It would be a weekly news story, see who actually made it through tech this week without getting caught with something.
Sounds like the sun is out down there, track is drying. There's still a chance of rain between 4 and 7 though, can't wait for this race tonight, this is going to be intense. Wonder if this might work out well for NASCAR? They're getting a prime time TV spot now.
Are they going to try and race tonight or wait until tomorrow? I think a Daytona 500 night race could be awesome, you might just get lucky that it rained yesterday.
Going to try to stream the first one here at work, have bowling at 4 though. I don't get too excited for the Duels though, with the top 35 and all the point-buying that goes on, most of the big names are locked in anyway.
Why do you even bother posting in this thread when its pretty obvious that you hate NASCAR based on every single one of your posts having to say something negative about it? I don't get it.
New Dodge looks pretty good, I want to see more of the front end but based on the street cars, I had a feeling they would have the best looking 2013 Cup car.
You're right, there were way more sparks last night than I've ever seen before. I think its the lower rear end, you can see them shooting out of the back of the car when Kyle Busch got sideways.
After last night I'm even more excited for the 500 next week, that's the kind of plate racing I missed.
Daytona is still a fun experience though. I've been to 7 different tracks now and even though Daytona didn't have the best racing, it was really cool to go to. Wish I was going down there again next weekend.
Just saw your other thread about going to the race atledreier, not sure how I missed it when it first got posted. Like others said, definitely get there early. When I went last year, we parked in the infield so parking wasn't bad, but we waiting until pretty close to race time to walk to our seats and the amount of people flooding into the place was out of control, definitely plan ahead for that kind of thing.
Have fun and let us know how it was when you get back.
Edit: I just looked and we were in row 20 last year. You being in row 36 should be a pretty good view of most of the track, but you're not so high up that you don't still feel the cars going by. Those are really good seats. Also, make sure you go down and stand right on the fence(or as close as they'll let you) for one of the restarts, just make sure you cover your ears because its going to be really loud.
That's good news for you guys, did you not get all the races on TV before? Just wondering, not sure what the broadcast schedule was like up there in years past.
Haha, forgot all about that at Bristol. Darlington is going to be hilarious though, why would you enter your second ever Cup race at a place like that? This will be the only time all year I hope they actually do keep the camera on her the whole time.
