I went to my first dirt race of the season this weekend, and I'm way up in NY. Must be almost time to hit the track down there I'd think.

Saw a yellow Lambo last week, didn't get a chance to catch which model it was because he was too busy running a red light and almost taking out a minivan in the process. There are a couple more Lambos around here as well as some Ferarri's. There's a guy with a light blue R8 I see every once and a while. Last year I saw a Corvette ZR1 on the highway outside the city here. Think the coolest thing I've ever seen is a Shelby Cobra, I'm guessing it was just a kit car but man that thing was sweet looking. I was walking down the street and it popped out around a curve and I think I almost broke my neck watching it drive by.

Quote from lizardfolk :I hate how you get penalized for things that aren't your fault....I hope the higher ups are better...

If you're still racing the rookie series, yes it gets much better as you move up the ladder.

I hate the new layout. I'm sure its just like when Facebook changes their layout though, I hate it for a week or two then get used to it and don't care any more.

Quote from DieKolkrabe :But Bill Lester only got as far as the Trucks I believe, I don't remember them making a huge deal out of it

Danica in an ARCA race was a huge deal, and that's below trucks. Danica is just a media whore though. I have no problem with this Wallace kid coming to Nascar, and I seriously doubt it will turn into the circus Danica-mania has.

I only watch a couple F1 races a year at most, was it a big deal when Lewis Hamilton started racing? I don't remember anyone making a huge fuss over his skin color.

Quote from BlakjeKaas :You just said it'll get cheaper, so why not just wait and have an exclusive painting and a cheaper experience later with better/more tech?

Because if you have the money, why not go for both?

Quote from SidiousX :And I said I didn't want Hamlin to win because of it. Then you said something about "somebody was going to win after a caution", well no shit lol.

Ohhhh you should have said that sooner! I didn't realize you were just saying you didn't want Hamlin to win for the same reason haha.

I said I didn't want to see a HENDRICK CAR win because of a caution, I don't understand how you're just ignoring that part of my sentence.

Quote from SidiousX :That's not what we are talking about. We are talking about somebody winning BECAUSE of a caution coming out.

That's not what I said though. I said I didn't want to see a certain driver win because of a yellow. I don't see where you're trying to go with this.

Quote from SidiousX :Well as I see it, that's the same reason that Hamlin won.

Well obviously someone had to win after the yellow. I just didn't want it to be Gordon. I would have been happy with Kenseth or Newman as well.

I do love Gordon's quote after the race though, if Kenseth is going to take the win from me I'm going to make sure he doesn't win either haha. Did Gordon really not think Kenseth was going to lay the bumper to him with 2 to go? I mean come on, its Martinsville.

Quote from Falcon140 :Hamlin wins in true Hamlin style: aka like an ****.

How that's? Kenseth moved Gordon then Gordon paid him back. Hamlin was in the right spot to take advantage. The only person that Denny screwed on the last restart was his own teammate by chopping off Logano's nose.

Glad Gordon didn't win, would hate to see another Hendrick car in victory lane because of a caution with 10 to go.

Quote from Danke :Have they given any indication which license the V8 Supercar series will be? IIRC from this thread a lot of the cars in iracing have open diffs. And I thought I heard somewhere that V8 Supercars have locked diffs. Might be interesting to see how a different diff handles in iracing.

Not that I've jumped into the iracing boat yet, but I will one of these days...

I haven't seen any official word on the license, if I had to guess though I'd say C. The C6R is at B right now and I see that as a higher level car than the Supercar.

Pretty pumped for Martinsville practice in an hour, looking forward to seeing them all with spoilers again. Even if it doesn't change the racing, I couldn't stand the look of that wing much longer.

I'm pretty excited for the V8 Supercar, it should make for some very good racing.

Quote from TiJay :Fantastic story

On an unrelated note: Was overtaken by a few WRC cars on the road into Cardiff on Rally GB finals day, what happens to their speeding tickets?

They can get tickets if the cops see them, example:

Quote from DeadWolfBones :Yeah, I know. Just having some fun.

For those not in the know, he was competing in the Rally America event alongside guys like Ken Block and Travis Pastrana.

Ken Block IS actually competing in the WRC this year, Mexico was his first event and I'm pretty sure he crashed out.

I can't find any actual results for the Rally America event, best I could find is this: http://www.rallymexico.com/content.php?page=rally%20America

But there are no final results that I see there. I have no doubt that he finished 3rd in his class though, just didn't happen against the WRC guys obviously. And still its an awesome story regardless of where he finished, I mean to run a full rally with no help whatsoever is amazing. Just reading how all the Mexican fans were cheering for him was awesome too. If I could accomplish even a fraction of what Caswell did, I could die a happy man.

I am not a fan of the "How A $500 Craigslist Car Beat $400K Rally Racers" headline as that's not really what happened, but it is an awesome story.

Saw this posted on another forum, although I am not familiar with the track its always sad to see a race track getting ripped up.

That was a pretty tame race at Bristol, not a ton of action and only one big wreck. Busch sure looks dumb for taking 4 at the end when Addington only wanted to put 2 tires on, not sure if he would have been able to hold off Johnson but I think he would have had a shot. Glad to see Tony jump up to second place with the 2 tire stop at the end though.

Anyone else see the wreck in the Legends race after the Nationwide race on Saturday? Pearson is seriously luckily to have only broken a few bones after the way that other car T-boned him in the drivers side.

Man I really want to go to Bristol, I'm sure I'll get down there some time in the next couple years. I go to a lot of 1/2 mile tracks around here, and to imagine a track that small surrounded by 160,000 people, it has to be an amazing place to be on race day.

Quote from logitekg25 :thats a ford, muscle car looking to cut corners money wise -_- muscle cars are never known for their handling at all.....they are MEANT for straight lines

my moms is a pontiac with everything in mind from handling to speed.

Well, the Trans Am is just a Pontiac body slapped on the Camaro chassis, so to me that's about as muscle car as it gets.

My G8 could probably give your mom's car a run for its money, only thing holding me back is mine's a much heavier car.

Quote from Scawen :I'm not asking you for faith. I'm asking you to make sure you are subscribed to the newsletter.

It's a funny thing how when you create something good for people, eventually you will be insulted by some of them.

Anyway, I am happy that most people did understand my post and haven't taken it negatively.

Making a post got me subscribed to the thread again but I'll switch that off again, to avoid this kind of distraction.

I do hope LFS development is back in full swing some day. While its disappointing to fans of LFS that development has slowed so much, LFS was still one of the great simulations of all time, and that is surely a huge accomplishment for a one man dev team. I have moved on to other sims but still frequent these forums every day, and I'll surely be back when patches start coming out for LFS again.
