Watched the last 10 or so laps at work with no sound, JJ was getting out of control there, was a pretty entertaining finish though. Not sure how Stewart passed so many people at the end, he seems a little safer to be in the Chase now. Him and Junior can't have any trouble at Richmond though.

I'm hoping it rains some more today so its gets postponed until tonight when I can actually watch it.

Everyone runs into some bad luck in the Chase eventually and I'd say Johnson is due. I can't deal with him winning again. I still can't believe Denny blew it at Homestead last year.

I'd like to see him win it too, could be an exciting Chase this year.

Anyone think someone has a realistic chance at winning the $3 million this weekend? I'd have to go with Kyle Busch if anyone's going to do it. Brad K is on a huge roll, I just don't see him winning again this weekend, would be nuts if he did though. I can't believe how much he's jumped up in the standings in the past month.

No way I'd sit through a whole Bristol race without ear protection. A couple laps on restarts sure, but it has to be deafening in there when they get spaced out. You were in the lower Junior Johnson stands? That's pretty much exactly where I'd want to sit, down low like 20-30 rows up.

Quote from Cornys :Well, I'm leaving from here early tomorrow morning to watch the Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series race Junior Johnson tower about half way up Should be beast of seats First time to a short track Cup race, my 3rd Cup race (2nd of the year )

Couldn't be too much more excited

So how was it? Did you camp at the track? I've already begun the process of getting friends on board to make the trip down there next year.

Modifieds will be better but yes I'll be watching the trucks also haha. Made the mistake of making plans for this Saturday night before considering the Nascar schedule so I won't be able to watch the whole Cup race, getting my Bristol on tonight instead.

I have a feeling next year at this time I'll be at Bristol. Its next on my list of tracks I REALLY want to go to, did Daytona this year and I want to do a short track next year. Pocono, the Glen, and Bristol in a 4 week span could make for an awesome August next year haha.

The Whelen Modifieds are racing at Bristol on SPEED tonight at 6 EST, not sure if there will be a stream up somewhere but they usually put on a pretty entertaining race.

Quote from DieKolkrabe :IMO, SAFER barriers ought to be oval only. What's next, SAFER barriers at Infineon, RA, Road America, San Jose, Long Beach?

Not until each of those tracks has a hard hit like Reutimann and Ragan at Watkins Glen, then there will be a knee-jerk reaction about how "unsafe" the tracks are and SAFER barriers will be in place by the next race.

Quote from Mustangman759 :that caution had to be called because of a car (Menard) on fire anyways. But was funny how Kyle was mad about a few drops of rain LOL

I agree, I wasn't questioning that caution at all, he was shooting debris everywhere and then was on fire. Just in years past they'd throw a caution for a blade of grass on the track when it really wasn't needed.

Quote from Mustafur :The first Nascar road course race where they didn't throw a caution for a tissue being on the track and it made a massive difference.

I don't understand how they don't realize that they don't need to throw cautions every time a tiny piece of debris is on the track. Even before the caution that set up the green-white-checkered, it was going to be a great last couple laps watching Ambrose run down Busch.

Pretty wild finish there, Kyle threw it away and Brad K almost pulled off two in a row. Ruetimann destroyed that wall, you can pretty much guarantee there will be a safer barrier at that spot next year.

Well that's two weeks in a row I went to the race and got rained on, was still a fun weekend at the Glen but it would have been nice to see the race yesterday. We didn't stick around and try to see it today because the weather still doesn't look all that great. It was fine all Sunday morning there, wish they would have just started the race early and got it in.

Sounds like Danica will be running some Cup races for Stewart next year, ugh. I don't know how I feel about this, I can't stand Danica. I just named my kitten Stewart too, and now Tony has to turn around and do this to me.

You'd think they'd put up a catch fence there by now, that's not the first car I've seen launch over the wall exactly like that at Williams Grove.

Quote from RiseAgainstMe! :Just drove past Dover yesterday
yayyyyy vacation, driving past tracks, but having to miss all the actual racing action for two weeks...

That's why all summer vacations should be scheduled around races.

I'm going to Pocono in two weeks and then Watkins Glen the week after, can't believe I haven't been to a race since Daytona.

I do want to go to Dover soon, I think its the closest track that I haven't been to yet.

My only hope is that since Pocono is privately owned, they'll do it right.

Pocono is getting pretty bumpy and I wouldn't be surprised to see it paved some time in the next couple years, sure hope they don't screw it up.

I hadn't changed them all year, I figured it would be a good idea for Sonoma though.

Forget to change your drivers after setting up for all road course drivers.

Haha I did the same thing.

Even though I hate Cup guys dominating Nationwide constantly, I'll be pulling for Stewart.

Just went back and watched the end of the February race, that was an awesome finish.
