Watched the last 10 or so laps at work with no sound, JJ was getting out of control there, was a pretty entertaining finish though. Not sure how Stewart passed so many people at the end, he seems a little safer to be in the Chase now. Him and Junior can't have any trouble at Richmond though.
Everyone runs into some bad luck in the Chase eventually and I'd say Johnson is due. I can't deal with him winning again. I still can't believe Denny blew it at Homestead last year.
Anyone think someone has a realistic chance at winning the $3 million this weekend? I'd have to go with Kyle Busch if anyone's going to do it. Brad K is on a huge roll, I just don't see him winning again this weekend, would be nuts if he did though. I can't believe how much he's jumped up in the standings in the past month.
No way I'd sit through a whole Bristol race without ear protection. A couple laps on restarts sure, but it has to be deafening in there when they get spaced out. You were in the lower Junior Johnson stands? That's pretty much exactly where I'd want to sit, down low like 20-30 rows up.
Modifieds will be better but yes I'll be watching the trucks also haha. Made the mistake of making plans for this Saturday night before considering the Nascar schedule so I won't be able to watch the whole Cup race, getting my Bristol on tonight instead.
I have a feeling next year at this time I'll be at Bristol. Its next on my list of tracks I REALLY want to go to, did Daytona this year and I want to do a short track next year. Pocono, the Glen, and Bristol in a 4 week span could make for an awesome August next year haha.
The Whelen Modifieds are racing at Bristol on SPEED tonight at 6 EST, not sure if there will be a stream up somewhere but they usually put on a pretty entertaining race.
Not until each of those tracks has a hard hit like Reutimann and Ragan at Watkins Glen, then there will be a knee-jerk reaction about how "unsafe" the tracks are and SAFER barriers will be in place by the next race.
I agree, I wasn't questioning that caution at all, he was shooting debris everywhere and then was on fire. Just in years past they'd throw a caution for a blade of grass on the track when it really wasn't needed.
I don't understand how they don't realize that they don't need to throw cautions every time a tiny piece of debris is on the track. Even before the caution that set up the green-white-checkered, it was going to be a great last couple laps watching Ambrose run down Busch.
Pretty wild finish there, Kyle threw it away and Brad K almost pulled off two in a row. Ruetimann destroyed that wall, you can pretty much guarantee there will be a safer barrier at that spot next year.
Well that's two weeks in a row I went to the race and got rained on, was still a fun weekend at the Glen but it would have been nice to see the race yesterday. We didn't stick around and try to see it today because the weather still doesn't look all that great. It was fine all Sunday morning there, wish they would have just started the race early and got it in.
Sounds like Danica will be running some Cup races for Stewart next year, ugh. I don't know how I feel about this, I can't stand Danica. I just named my kitten Stewart too, and now Tony has to turn around and do this to me.
