Yup. Fuel mileage plus a couple of the top guys getting taken out, you had to know she'd get a couple good runs eventually though. I love how in her interviews she never bothers to thank her team for probably one of the better cars in the field every time she gets in it.
Nah they weren't a lap down if I remember right, the pace car was just going ridiculously slow and they ended up getting out of the pits before the pace car got there.
Yeah I thought the whole thing was based more on finishing position. I'll have to do some more studying in the coming weeks to make sure this is really the driver lineup I want.
Daytona was awesome. We sat down by turn 1 for the truck race Saturday night and we were literally right in front of the big wreck down there. I was rooting for Hornaday all night but he ended up getting taken out so that was too bad. Dirt race Saturday night was great as well, both of the features were really competitive. I thought the 500 on Sunday was pretty good, there were too many cautions though. We were pulling for Regan Smith most of the day since he's from NY, too bad he got taken out though. Overall, great way to start the 2011 racing year. Too bad I'm back in NY now where its like 15 degrees out.
If you've ever seen screenshots of the BetterLight mod, it looks pretty much just like that, I think the guy who made that helped them with the new lighting system?
Freaking Jr. gets the pole and then goes and wrecks in practice so now he has to start in the back. He better hope there isn't a wreck early on that he gets caught up in.
You can. I think part of the strategy is that you can pick guys up now on the cheap and hold on to them as their value goes up throughout the season. If you're just planning on changing to drivers that are running well after every race, you probably won't be able to afford everyone you want.
Smaller grill opening and something about a new radiator valve that opens up earlier than the one they had Saturday night. Seems like they just want the cars to overheat sooner.
I guess they don't care so much about the two-car draft thing happening, they just don't want it going on for 10 laps at a time like it did in the Shootout. I was kind of hoping they'd do something about it, I don't think the two car packs would be very exciting for 200 laps next weekend.
I saw on the iRacing forums that RU has open signup for 7 hours today, if you've been looking for an invite and couldn't find one you might want to hop on this. I can't actually check the website while I'm at work to confirm it, just thought I'd pass the info along though.
I still don't get this fantasy league. I go to the "My Team" page and I still see "Roster selection will open soon. Come back the week of 2/14 to set your roster for the Daytona 500!". Pretty sure its the week of the 14th now.
The end of the first 25 lap segment was pretty good but when those two groups broke away at the end of the race it was pretty boring. It will be hotter out during the day next Sunday though so I'm not sure they'll be able to push each other for as long as they were last night. Also, bad move by Denny, think he had the win if he wouldn't have gone under the yellow line, it looked like Newman gave him enough room to get through.
I still think that's better than LFS were everyone sets up the brake strength so low that it is physically impossible to lock them up. I did lock them up a lot in iRacing at first too but its just because I was so used to LFS where I'd just slam the brakes to the floor in every braking zone.
Which is dumb. There are plenty of real racing series where viewers can see real time data on driver inputs, not sure why its some closely guarded secret in online racing. Either people can drive or not, you're not just going to magically copy someone else's driving by watching a replay.
