I tried the demo back when it first came out and I thought it was horrible. If you want a dirt racing game, I'd pick up DTR2 instead, also for $10(plus shipping).

http://www.amazon.com/Dirt-Tra ... qid=1253897886&sr=8-1

I wouldn't say its an all out sim, but its one of the best dirt racing games that I've played. Also the final Ratbag release I'm pretty sure, before Atari took over and ruined the DTR series.

The screenshots make me want to get a PS3 just so I can drool over this game all day long. I'll have to find a store that has it running and if the physics aren't too terribly ridiculous I might be convinced to buy it.

Quote from mumu :Hi,

I have the Microsoft Sidewinder wheel with FF. Should i keep this wheel or buy the Logitech G25? I didn't try the G25 yet. How are these two wheels in comparison? Is the G25 worth the money if i change from MS Sidewinder? Just want to hear some opinions, thanks.

I switched from the Sidewinder to a G25 a couple years ago, there is no comparison between the two really. G25 has better pedals, a shifter, more rotation, and the FFB is so much smoother. G25 is definitely worth the money if you have it.

I don't really get the part about testing the new tire physics out on the Mazda first. Either its right or it wrong, they're going to wait for the community to say whether they like it or not and that's going to decide which physics are better? That just doesn't make sense to me.

I am excited about tire smoke and skids marks though, will definitely make things that much more immersive, especially during wrecks. Trying to get through a wreck on the restrictor plate tracks is going to be a wild ride. Also hoping they can get the C6R done sooner rather than later, I'm really looking forward to that car.

I wish they'd fix the draft on the trucks/impala's, it's ridiculous how hard it is to get away from someone because they get such a big draft off of you on the 1.5 milers. It seems very broken to me.

Quote from Bob Smith :I'm not worried by my student debt, it's just a small deduction from my salary each month. I don't even consider it debt.

I just look at it as an investment in my future. Sure I was in debt when I got out of college but in the long run it is well worth it to have an education and get a good job.

Bros before hos man. Especially in this case, do not miss out on making new friends at college just because you want to go home and spend time with your girlfriend every weekend. I don't hate being out in the real world as much as some people, but some of the best times of my life were definitely spent with my friends in college.

Personally, living in the dorms was one of the best times of my life, I don't think its something you should pass up. I also wouldn't go home EVERY weekend because if you're in the dorms, then you're going to make friends there and want to hang out with them on weekends as well as people from home. Why not stay in the dorms and go home every 2 or 3 weeks? Also, can't you make your girlfriend come visit you some weekends? Like you said, the dorms are the more expensive option, but its a good experience being out on your own for the first time, so I'd say it worth it.

Quote from PMD9409 :Anyone else seeing the new maturity in Kyle Busch? It's coming, it was definately visible after the truck race today, I am hoping it continues.

I don't know, I'm not sure I believe it yet, I didn't see the truck race though. Honestly I'd rather him act like a douche than fake being mature.

Maybe they just haven't done it before. Microwaving bacon is suprisingly effective.

Yes, Denny finally gets the Richmond win. I thought that was one of the best races I've seen all year, the battle for the lead between Jeff and Denny was good, as was the Busch/Vickers fight for that last chase spot.

Hopefully Tony can get it done in the chase, he had a couple bad races lately but they should be strong. My dark horse favorite is Juan Pablo, I like his attitude and his team has really been improving, I wouldn't be mad to see him win. Really, I'd like to see ANYONE but Jimmie Johnson win again, him winning every year is just getting old.

Quote from Liff :The last time I checked, F1 or MotoGP didn't run on the oval. Besides, even if the track only had four corners, your math would still be off.

F1 definitely ran on part of the oval, MotoGP I'm not sure about.

They also just announced V8 supercars and Phillips Island are coming next year.

Sounds like only the Ford is coming, would be really awesome to get the Holden too since they have already done work with GM on other cars.

Quote from Danke :That's interesting. So at the big restrictor plate tracks, did you have a huge pack of cars jockeying for a close second place?

Haha you'd think people would have started doing that. One guy did post that someone took him out coming to the line in a Legends race and his reason was "I didn't want iRacing to steal my win".

Quote from R34GTR :I'm trying to sign up, but it's saying "* Satellite connections are not supported." Even though I know I'm on DSL

Does that actually stop you from signing up though? I think it says that for everyone as a warning.

PMD, 3 month thing still looks like it works for me:

"Your membership registration includes the following promotion:
3 Month Membership Special for New Members - $25
A three month subscription to iRacing, including the basic content."

Probably doesn't affect you road racers as much, but iRacing has FINALLY found the photo finish issue that was giving wins to the second place guy instead of who was in first.

http://members.iracing.com/ifo ... a?messageID=663252#663252

This never actually happened to me but it just annoyed me how iRacing acted like this was not a problem and blamed it on "the speed of light" when no other sim to date has had such a huge issue with not being able to score people accurately.

Quote from Meseplayer :Hi, and thanks for your comments.
I thought so, but then again, you would have to be able to change the gears correctly to gain the 1 second advantage, and thats easier said than done....

MPlayer

It just takes time to get used to. At first you might be slower, just don't give up on it. Eventually you'll be shifting without even thinking about it and you'll wonder how you ever used auto-gears in the first place.

It was pretty hard to root for Stewart when JGR went to Toyota but I did it anyway. If he signs Danica in 2011 just for the sponsorship money without her showing any results in a lower stock car series next year, I will probably be finding myself a new driver. It was depressing enough to know that someone would eventually sign her when she has done almost nothing in the IRL, can't believe Stewart might end up being the one to do it.

Quote from Mustafur :I can't imagen what will happen if in the future there is actually a woman who can drive well, the coverage will be insane.

At first probably, but people would eventually get over it I'm sure. There are a few very good female drag racers in the top NHRA classes now and no one makes a huge deal about it.

Quote from PMD9409 :Ambrose did one noob mistake all race which ruined it for him, thankfully though he made no excuses and just took it like a man (something we are missing most of the time in racing).

He said what, one sentence and walked away? If Busch would have done that he would have been called out for crying and whining. Ambrose does it, and he's a man? Not that I have a problem with him walking away, if I was him I would have been pissed at myself. I just thought it was really funny when I saw him do that after the race and thought to myself "bet if that was Kyle Busch people would be jumping all over him".

Nope, he said right in his interview he tried to cut across the track to get to the inside so he could pit, and that he knew the leaders were coming but didn't realize they were that close. Problem was, Busch was there when he cut over and he took him out, the spotter really should have warned him, but might not have known he had a flat tire, and also didn't know he was going to cut across the track like that.

It was cool to hear Justin talking about using iRacing for training. I always wonder how realistic sims are compared to real life since I will never actually get to drive a race car, and he sure makes it sound like using iRacing helps him out when he gets to the track. I'm just never sure if drivers are just saying things to promote the product.

Quote from BreadC : imagine him becoming sprint champ in 2010

Not going to happen. He's having a great run this year but I don't think he's at the point where he's going to be stringing together championship contending efforts year after year, he probably needs to get on a better team for that.

Yeah the real life series is 50/50 so its hard to say where they'll put it in iRacing, my guess would be road though.
