While I know that you may well be right I'm afraid that I have not got the time or the know how to get into such activities. All I was looking for (hoping for really), was that someone would be prepared to render the attempt that I have made and that I could then stick it up as a background on my desktop.
I very much appreciate that guys with your kind of skills and expertise may well be put off by my feeble attempts (and may well be annoyed at such a miserable attempt), but I just thought I would give the request a go.

Like I said, there a miserable attempt when compared to all those other fine samples I can see. I did them in "paint" as it is the only bit of software that I got and to be honest was not even sure what I was doing.

I was also looking for a “simple” look in the whole skin and did not want any flashy adverts or anything like that

I know that a lot of hard work has gone in to many of the skins in this post 9my congrats to all), and that mine are most possible the worst of the bunch, however, is soemeone was able to render it for me I would gladly grovel at their feet.

I can only add to the comments above and advise very definitely that the demo is noting as compared to the licence experience.

Like rod said above – there are some good guys out there on the demo, but if you want the real thing get a licence.

Got my vote that's for sure. I reckon we do away with restart and add more "damage" - it is a sim after all and not a game.
Yes, we do want to enjoy it and have fun, but play some arcade game if ya don't want to "feel real"

While I have not as yet read every single post / reply / opinion I just had put “pen to paper” on this topic. How many posts have been made over the years about the realism of Live For speed?. Things like

• this is a SIM and not a game
  
• the physics of the sims / game are not real enough and need to be improved
  or
  
• some other comments as to the fantastic realism of Live for speed
  
  
• Why then to we have re starts at all?

Yes I know that in REAL LIFE the concept of a red flag or re start is there.
But this is for SAFETY reasons and not any other – no lives can be lost in Live for Speed – other than by raised blood pressure if some “person” keeps messing things up.:drunk:

Here my vote / opinion
Re starts CAN be made

• after the top three drives have finished a race
  
• if only one single driver starts a race (waiting for other to join)
  
• if only one single driver left in a race (other have left the server)

NO restarts if

• race has started (subject to 2 & 3 above)
  
• Top 3 positions not yet determined

Lets get really real and award the laurels to drives that get to the end of a race unscathed and not those that keep restarting until they get to a good position after turn 1

Is it spelling or grammar
That will get you the hammer
Or missing the topic or point.

So careful out there and be warned

Once again many thanks for the help.
I am very pleased to advise that the steps taken so far would seem to have made an inprovement. At least with about 4 cars in a race I get 50 frames or so with at least 25 at the start.
Haven't had much time as yet to try out all the suggestions yet but fully intend to do so.
One server in particular made no real improvement at all - anf it had about 4 cars as well. Anyway - will advise further progreess as I get it

OK guys, things are starting to get a bit better. I updated my drivers and changed a few of the settings that were suggested.

I just come off multiplayer and was getting about 50 during the race but better still was the fact that I has NO stutter at the start of the races .
To be honest I was that excited that I forgot all out checking the race but HEY it was fun.

On the subject of closing out background tasks – any further ideas bearing in mind my hesitation to drop the antivirus ? :banana:

Will than not cause problems for me? I suppose I am a bit paranoid about getting some virus on my machine as it has happened before (way back) and I lost a shed load of important stuff and now it’s a case of one bitten twice shy.
CPU overheating?
How would I check that exactly? given I am a bit of a dumb ass with all the hardware techie

I have tested the sim with the 1st lot of adjustments and while it was not BAD I still have low frame rate on starts (get a bit of sound lag as well and gear change is sluggish - was like this before changes as well):eclipsee_
Had a good few car and was able to manage a bit better.
I will try the "sleep" options - which is currently set at 7
any other ideas -

PS - BIG thanks for the help so far

I get about 5 to 12 at the start of a race with about 4 or 5 other cars on track
This speeds up to about 25 or so particularly after the first bend
The best it get to (and this is with NO OTHER CARS about me) is around 25 to 27

OK guys, I hope that some one can assist. I NEED more frame rate if I am to progress further and not mess up other particularly on the start of a race (frame freeze).
To be honest I can see that many have gone before me with the same problem and many replies and suggestions have been posted. However I am still confused.

To assist I attach a spreadsheet with all of my details which I hope can lead to the provision of a solution. The attached excel file gives

• Task list
  
• LFS settings Shots of Grafics, Display and Misc
  
• Computer specs

If anyone can help I would be most appreciative
PLEASE bear in mind I am not exactly a “techie” so go easy and slow OK?

While I an NOT a computer expect can I sugggest the following (it worked for me when I had frame rate problems).
Have a look ot your "task list" and if you see and of these stop them and it should help your rate
"nvsvc32.exe" "alg.exe" "fxssvc.exe" "ctsvccda"

Mine went from about 18 or so to about an average of 45 and if you are already as 30 or so .....
Like I said I'm not an expert or anything like it but is was the only thing that worked for me and I was at the stage of giving up on the sim.

Let's know if it helped

Second up you are RIGHT ON - LFS is the best
Third up - convince all those other to join but as stated in the reply's above you can race on the demo or in the "real" world.
