OK - I checked that line (great thanks for that) and as far as I am concerned did what it suggested.
I have just tried an on line game and

• I can see that it is listed by checking on games listed on LFS world
  
• I also saw a message on screen (in game) "time out connection"

This suggests to me that someone tried to connect but failed

Any more suggestions ?
Am I at least heading in the right direction?

- like I say I am a bit thick on these sort of things

Would it be my firewall ( do I have to know it off) I use McAffe and have LFS set for full access

What sort of a clown would pay that kind of money.
I reckon you would get better value out of a real car than pay that kinda cash for a mock up even it is for the Magnificant LFS

Yep - another conquest for LFS

At the start of a race I get about 8 to 11.
It goes up to about a max of 35 in mid race.
I have tried all I can to get background tasks shut down
M PC spec is
P4 3GH
Ram - 1 gig
Card - Nvidia GEFORCE FX5200 (which I reckon is the problem)

Any ideas on the connection speed?

Having looked at the previous posts and downloaded pingplotter I attach the results. As far as I can tell I have CRAP connection – would you agree?

I will follow the posts here to see how it progresses.
As for me I have done about all I can to shut down all "other stuff" so as so maxamise the frame rate but I still can't get a decent start on a race as the frame rate drops so low and maybe some of the replies here might help a bit

Why the heck would we want an arcade type mod to a racing simulator.
If ya want to play - play a game
If you want to race - drive LFS

It's as simple as that
