From 'Commands.txt':

Quote :
Car Strings:
------------
The /cars command for the startup command line or for
hosts or admins uses the three-letter car codes.

Example:

/cars=XFG+XRG :Allow XF GTI and XR GT
/cars=MRT :Allow MRT5 only

These Car Groups can be used as well:

ALL - all cars
ROAD - road legal cars
RACE - race cars
TBO - same as XRT+RB4+FXO
LRF - same as LX6+RAC+FZ5
GTR - same as FXR+XRR+FZR

The plus and minus symbols can be used in conjuction with these:

/cars=TBO+LX4 :Allow XRT, RB4, FXO and LX4
/cars=ROAD-UF1 :Allow all road cars except the UF 1000

Quote from AndyG :Just out of interest, why does the "full screen anti-aliasing" (is this MSAA?) LFS graphics option disappear in VR mode? It's there for the mirrors, but not for the main display - I wondered if it was just a bug maybe?

It's mandatory to be enabled in VR, so it is removed, instead of graying out.

He has a tendency to miss some kind of reports without even answering. That was on a test patch thread, so he surely was reading those post.

Anyway, if this gets fixed this time, or even a /delay command is implemented, we will be happy.

Good luck having this fixed. I had no luck when I reported it 7 years ago...

Quote from Whiskey :Scawen, as you fixed the issue I had with the scripts I have another report to do (just in case you find it eas and interesting to fix).

In 0.6B version (not tested yet on test patch), if in a car script (XRR.lfs for example) you write
Quote :/press 3

that command will be send before the car is ready, so its lights are not switched on. Maybe you could add a delay to the execution of these scripts to allow the car to be ready to receive inputs Smile

Another one is if you write
Quote :/press esc

you can make LFS don't show you the track after leaving pits/spectating, I guess this would also get fixed with that delay, else, it's quite useless as it only makes the game a mess.

I attach an screenshot showing the actual state of my game. Other players can still see me on track, but I can't see the track even if a disconnect and enter the server again. Once you get into this state you can delete the command from the script, because it makes no difference at all

Quote from killafilla :It's one of the dreams that comes true, but if i could ask a question..

Is it possible to have a pop up headlights on the future, like ( XRT,XRG,XRR) ?

XRR has not have pop up lights for a while. Not many changes in recent years in LFS to miss this one eh hahaha

Quote from nikopdr :It's good to start out with 540 degrees first, just set it in profiler and ingame, with wheel turn compensation also adjusted to 1.00. this setting makes the steering axle more linear, which might be a part of the problem too. in 900* mode if you have that set to 1.00, it goes 1:1 with every car(720 in road cars, 540 in GTR cars, 470 open wheels, etc)

A normal wheel (back in the old days) was 270º. When upgrading to a G25 I upped the range to 360º and shortly after to 450º (this is the maximum for always having both hands gripping the wheel).
After many months I stepped up to 540º (as previous post states, the correct degrees for race cars).

When I got the G27, I had to use H-shifter instead of sequential, so I also went all the way up to 900º. If I'm having the gearbox handicap let's also get use to the full steering range. A decision I don't regret, but it sure took a long time since those initial 360º.

My recommendation for you would be to spend a month or two at each step. Until you reach 540º, then it's up to you to see if you enjoy 720º or 900º.

Quote from Mountaindewzilla :We can already map view rotation to steering, mouse, etc.
I'm curious how useful it would be to map view rotation to the direction your vehicle is travelling.

I think this would be very useful for folks that are intentionally sliding their cars sideways.

Thoughts?

For people drifting, maybe orient the map based on camera angle instead of car heading?

Quote from Racon :I mean inside the jpg - there's different ways to record the colour information. The most common problem is RGB mode versus CMYK mode. For the internet you need RGB mode, and other modes will just display a broken image link. For commercial printing the colour mode must be CMYK, and others come out with screwy colours, and usually almost black (if you ever saw a magazine advert that's just a black square, now you know what they did wrong Wink).

In Photoshop you can tell from the Image > Mode menu. Dunno about other programs, but it should be there somewhere. If it's not RGB, change to that, save and try again.

Adding to that, save it as baseline in Photoshop, using progressive may also cause similar issues with automated uploaders.

Quote from Racon :I appear to be missing something. Cracking AIRIO is OK because...?

Abandonware.

If the developer/publisher/whatever does not sell it any longer, the only way to get it is by cracking it.

It's not that it suddenly is okay, but it's way less bad.
I'm sure you are familiar with the same thing happening to Richard Burns Rally game. It makes no sense to pay 200€ to some random guy in eBay just because he happens to have the game.

Mafia II was not on sell for a while due to licensing of audio trucks expiring. It was not okay to crack it as the issue may have been dealt with (as indeed was the case, because it's on sale again). EQWorry has had more than enough time to come back with any reply, at this point it's clear that he has left this piece of software completely forgotten.

DisplayPort is the goto port.

It's standard, more advanced than HDMI (in all their versions over time). It supports higher resolution, at higher Hz, and can be converted to any other display output (with passive or active adapters).

That said, use the cheaper one if you want, for your use case it probably won't matter at all.

Quote from Victor :It's not that straight forward a feature I'm afraid. I had a look this week - I can super easily ignore posts made by users, but there's also post counts in threads and forums that would get oos then. It would for exmaple be possible to have a page with 1 post which could be ignored and then you have an empty page. The same with threads started by an ignored user. Do we hide the whole thread? (and then forum thread count is wrong).
So .. it's not so easy I'm afraid.

I'm still waiting for an option to get rid of all posts from some uninteresting users on the forum.

The simplest option would be to replace the content of "<div class="FPostText">" element with a notice that the content is blocked due to your preferences. It would be nice to have a button to see the post, but not necessary at all (you can open a private/incognito session and check if you like).

Quote from Big Daddy :After reading your post I must say that I now realized that the new graphics have a pinky tone. Especially in old/new comparison it is visible:
[...]
My personal taste would be this - and I just desaturated the colors - hope you see the big difference:

I'd rather play with LFS' current/new color palette than playing Schindler's List.

I don't see any pinkish colouring in the new screenshots. It's quite saturated, but I don't see any hue on the picture.

Quote from Eclipsed :To make it more precise - you'll get an additional unlock every friday until you have a total of 2. Every time a new official patch is out, unlock count gets reseted by devs to 3.

Technically on Friday it's reset to 2. No matter how many you have. Right?

Quote from Eclipsed :I suspect they're not, because the bug happens due tyre physics, which means that they will be fixed with the new physics. That's how I understood it.

While that's true (or at least expected by everybody) they could work with current version just by adding a bit of a slope to them. So they don't make the tire change suddenly 3 cm in vertical axis.

And we know that collision mesh and visual mesh is independent, so they could do whatever they want and fix with new version (or have now a workaround and then release the intended version).

Quote from THE WIZARD DK :i get all the good ones... ***siighs***

top left corner...

what can cause this then ? because ive seen this in 0.6R too ?

all it takes is a restart of LFS , but still somewhat annoying.
same as the lights ? atleast then i would get it. but also the screenie is next to a treeline. that treeline went black, how i noticed in the first placed i had this glitch.

"yeees i know its the modded version. thats why i like to know what tracks i can work on and whatnot.so i can clean this install out, lol".

Is your problem only with transparent DDS files?
I'd put my money on corrupt graphic's card driver or a failed overclok on GPU memory.

For me (and I'm not the only one I know of. Different ISP and geographic locations in Spain) it's been taking 30 seconds to load the pages these last days.

In the past I also had that screen, but Retry for live version worked fine. Tho at those times the load time was okay.

Quote from Audionysos :Thank you all for response. I understand that you need more data if you want to be accurate but If a multiplayer replay plays fine for me then it should be also enough data for me to analyze, especially if you are a noob and have +3s lap times. I would just like to get general look on where/what I should improve. It would be nice to just pick any lap from any previous race and drop it in the analyzer but I understand that is not possible... :|

What LFS could do is save your own car ina .spr at the same time it records the .mpr as it does now.

You would get the best of both worlds. Getting the .spr lever of detail from everyone in real time might not be really feasible.

Quote from Sobis :Yeah there seems to be a bug in this thread, never noticed this happening elsewhere. It did say that you were the last to post but there was no post in the thread. But if you search your post history (link), it's actually there. Weird.

Happens when post are deleted, causing the last page posts to go into the previous one. But the post count still makes the paging to create a new one.

Quote from Bila_KHS :You don't understand, this should be a game content, not an external program

Why?
I'd rather have a powerful API to implement whatever crazy idea than have a developer spend time in a game mode that will not be used by most people.

In an ideal situation, devs could release official apps serving as an example/tutorial as well as introducing desired features in the game.

It looks like the pedals are inverted. Also, I don't know your wheel, but by the name of it I wouldn't expect it to have separate pedals, so in LFS you'd have to use combined pedals.
