Do you know what I don't understand? I tried it with 20AIs on BL1, with 8xAA (that's how I play LFS) and 0xAA. There was no difference in fps! From that I would conclude that my gfx card does almost no work, in other words it has heaps of surplus, the cpu is what limits the fps here (which is btw a core2duo @ 1,8Ghz, please Scawen, implement multithreading).
But: then I lowered the LOD from maximum to minimum, and I gained some ~10 fps! This is totally contradicts to the fact stated above. Ie: If the gfx card has surplus, how do you gain fps from lowering the gfx details?
Hm, wait a second, computing gfx involves the cpu too, even hardware T&L can't leave out that step entirely. So maybe that's the reason? Computing AA requires only/mostly the card, but computing verteces requires more power from the cpu too, and that's already on its max computing AIs and physics.
