During Qualy / Not Racing in a group :

Agressive round corners , I am always looking to go faster so when there is no risk at ruining someone elses race I go all out round the corners. The straights are obviously easy and can also play a part in maintaining a lead / catching an opponent depending on how you exit the corner and the set-up of the car.

I do extensive testing in LFS , not just races.

During Race / Racing in a group :

On the straights its no change , still as flat-out as possible hoping to keep right with the ones in front / in front. I will slipstream if I can , anything to keep the pressure on the guy in front.

On the corners its different , I expect braking from the guy in front , so I think ALWAYS brake earlier when cars are in front , if side by side , I do try and get inside and let them know I am there , if on the outside , I slow enough to try and cut back inside , and then concentrate on getting away from that corner with most accel.

Simple.

When I gained a small bundle of points ( 12 ) in the first race of this Cup campaign , I was very unhappy when I couldnt make race 2 or 3 ! due to work , however I was back tonight and next weekend also , so I cant wait.

The race was really quite good for me , having been away from LFS for a bit , I started practicing the combo about 2 hours before the race , which I am not proud of , but am happy with how it all went.

The start was not excellent , I let the engine bog down just a tad at the point when the lights went out so was fighting round the first half of the oval with I think it was XFRDavo or someone. From then on , one or two " moments " i saw up ahead of me into the first turns so I made the best of them by getting in front of drivers that went off-road slightly , and found myself in the vicinity of SR Thor ... and quite basically it just continued like that from lap 2 or so , until the very very end. Absolutely excellent and realy really fair racing from Thor , and I do remember the T7R car of BBO arriving behind us both and became increasingly aware of him. The track itself , with many winding and close turns , means for me having to go from attacking to defending very fast , within the space of 1 straight or between 2 corners , so it was not fun to be in the middle , behind Thor , in front of BBO. But coming onto the oval for the end of one of the laps , I concentrate on attacking Thor , which doesnt pay off for either of us as we go wide coming onto the oval , and BBO went inside and got power down much better , as me and Thor comprimised between power , turning and fighting understeer at the concrete retainer surrounding the oval. After that , I became immediatly happy with finishing behind Thor , for me to take 6th place , any points were great for me just to keep up any form of confidence in my car and my campaign in the MTC.

Look forward to gaining the replay.

Andy Priaulx wraps up the 2006 Drivers World Championship in WTCC racing , making it a back-to-back winning of the Title.

However , winning it in the last race of the last round and by only 1 POINT !!! it wasn't exactly made easy for him.

thats a weird one , but try disconnecting your FF wire to your steering wheel if you havent already.

I am sure there will be a way to sort that problem out but i am not too sure of it.

really really terrible news , and I and I am confident many of the real and LFS karting folk / whole community will be shocked , its terrible for any death of course , but 2 relating to something that we all have an interest in ( motorsport ) is very sad.

Thoughts to BOTH the drivers familes and friends and such for the past week.

yip , cant complain about my position ( 6th out of 7 finishers , with 3 or 4 DNFs , including Ntech's Alan Zadro who crashed out mid-way through )

But with more people in the league it will definately be more interesting , its only 1 race gone , so the League Champion is still wide open and with all the STCC reserves there are , I thought they would be really wanting a chance to prove they can be in STCC , or to show what they can do in TBO class championship.

Still , South City faces up 1 week this evening , and damage limitation in every sense shall be on the cards for the Ntech team.

TML ADMINS - PLACE No 17 is no longer reserved on behalf of Ntech.

I know its quite late in the ( race ) day , but just to say Ntech was unable to find a drive for its car number 16 , and so a 2-car team shall be fielded by them for this season in the League , therefore we have no use for the " Reserved " place that is currently showing on the driver registar , and so it is handed back to the admins / organisers of the series to allow someone else to use or an independant to join the series , its up to you what you want to do with it.

Just to add , could you please correct place number 15 in the registar so that it reads ...

" [Ntech]15 FXO " instead of " Calum FXO " , as I will be using the team driving place when racing in this league.

Thanks folks.

This season in the Turbo Mini League the Ntech team have indeed decided to withdraw one of the reserved places and hand it back to the event organisers. A suitable candidate for car #16 was not found and so the team will concentrate on running a two car setup for the 2-month long TML , which perhaps suits us better as well because it will be a good testing period for us to see how things go.

Thanks all for viewing and watching , and keep a look-out for more available drives with Ntechnology sometime in the future , or any drivers currently about to start in an event or championsip can approach us regarding a racing seat.

Thanks

With 28 veiws and no replies , I am gonna add me thoughts

I think the idea sounds quite interesting , going round the course one at a time may be what is putting off a few people , but dont change that as if enough people did show interest , my team would be interested in running in the Championship , if drivers wanted to drive for us.

Thanks

The STCC really must be one of if not THEE most active / driving-enticing League in LFS without much doubt.

So so many drivers have typed up there interest , even after the grid was full from when Becky first fielded the idea right up to this 4 or 5th round now , theres just always people wanting in , its unbeleivable .

Hey ...

I'd certainly be interested in racing a little bit with you , hopefully if we get more people onto that JCB or SR server later today , I think you were on yesterday during the busy races of like 14 or 15 cars ?? but I didnt watch you at all as was with the new teammate hehe.

I would be a little concerned with timezone , in Australia compared to me and Thunderhead being in Europe , also the races being on saturday evening U.K time , is that managable ?

Please also check P.Ms

Thanks

Ntech announce provisional driver line-up for TML
Calum
S2 licensed

The LFS Team Ntechnology revealed their provisional driver line-up for the Turbo Mini League at midday today.

Previously announced driver Calum MacDonald would be taking control of the number #15 Alfa 156 ( FXO Turbo ) as expected , with the hope of one or two podiums throughout the 2 month long League.

Quote :I am very excited about starting under the new Ntech team , it is very realistic here and we have very high standards , with a high quality team in return. The whole team are treating this as their inaugural Championship and so of course everyone wants to prove we are a competitive LFS Team , but also that we must learn alot from day 1 , with many many hours or practice and testing still to go. With aiming to run only 3 cars in the League , we have noticed one or two other teams that have a similar setup , and so that should provide close and exciting viewing , but not too much in the way of rivals ... hopefully.

The new driver , like his #15 counterpart , have not got an abundance of experience in driving the FXO , but both have the motivation and determination to be running competitive times at Blackwood by the end of the week , which is the first track of the season in the TML. Driver Alan Zadro will be operating the #18 car for all races , and Calum added that he doesnt expect the young Croatian to be sitting at the back of the pack either :

Quote :We are both going to push one another to reach better and better times at every track we go too , neither one of us want to be second best at Ntech , this should help us improve our times overall if we constantly battle each other during practice or qualifying. I think its safe to say neither of us will take home any driver trophies for most points out of this League , but if near the end of the season we both have similar points , and perhaps a respectable number of them , then that will be the biggest achievement the team could ask for.

C.MacDonald's car recieving adjustments during Alan Zadro's completion of practice runs at Blackwood yesterday afternoon.

You can expect the new driver to post his comments and thoughts shortly in this topic.

In other news ...

Ntech have just released their driver notes package for their drivers that consists of all the information and procedures the drivers need to know.

There is no set date for the Ntech website launch but when it does arrive it is expected to be an excellent home for the online team.

THERE IS STILL 1 Drive available with Ntech , there has been limited interest in the team which could be expected given the expectations of it all ( too much realism ) but if the position is not filled by friday afternoon the team will resort to running a 2 car package for the TML season , and the remaining place will be given back to the TML Admins to be most probably handed to an independant waiting to join.

Ntech would still like to recruit or even just talk too frequently someone who is expereinced with FXO Setups and knows how to adjust them and work with our drivers in aid of better contesting the TML Championship.

Thanks for viewing of course.
