I agree, I would prefer it if a 1x was simply 4 wheels over the white line, then it's consistant for every track rather than completely made up on a whim. It makes no sense why T5 at Road America is a 1x yet the green astroturf in Graham Hill at Brands Hatch is not.

That's a touchy subject Matt, Rangers had a run to the Uefa Cup Final in 2008 by playing what Celtic fans & the media branded "anti-football", I.E parking the bus and stealing goals on the counter, and Celtic fans were tripping over themselves to say how disgusting and disgraceful it was for Rangers to be playing Football like that. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with it. Obviously we all like watching free flowing attacking football, but I very much appreciate the ability of a team to stop the other team scoring at all costs. It looks easy to sit back and soak up the pressure but it's anything but, if anything you work harder, any 1 slip of concentration and it's a goal and all the hard work was for nothing.

With my amateur team we practice it in training every now and again, and have done it in games before and it's unbelievable hard work. I'm a center-half though so I'm biased .

Haven't found one yet after checking all the usual places, found a pretty good one for RF2 which is quite fun in the DW12 though. I've always loved the A1 ring, far and away my favourite track all the way back on Geoff's GP4. I miss Geoff Crammond.

Does anyone know of an A1/Red Bull Ring conversion?

I'm not really seeing the controversy over this game, I'm playing it on PS4 and really enjoying it. Sure it's not GTA5, but it's a good game in it's own right, graphics are nice enough, gameplay & hacking is good and fun and I couldn't give a shit if a train looks stupid when it's turning a corner. It might not be the best shooter, but I'm having a ton of fun playing it like old Hitman and doing everything with stealth.

As an Alpha it is quite impressive, but the netcode is garbage. Anyone with a slightly high ping bounces and jumps 5 metres left and right constantly, any slight contact at all sends cars absolutely flying. There is still time for improvement, but it just looks like NKP to me and that never really got any better.

We need to get a decent server sorted where LFSers can join without all the pricks ruining it, with decent pings and good racing, just make sure we don't bump each other.

The first race I done, I had no idea the race had started and just saw my car getting punted in the background. Tiny continue button down the bottom is the only way to know, so half the people on the grid don't know the race has actually started.

By the way, is it just me or can you not engage a gear until the lights go out?

Anyone know how to stop F11 drawing a virtual mirror on all 3 screens?

Edit: **** this, its already infested with trolls. 3 separate servers I was on and at least 2 or 3 drivers parked sideways across the track, moving backwards and forwards to block people. Maybe this will be good for Leagues, but back to IR I go. Say what you want about iracing, you don't get people parked sideways on the track.

Can't believe I'm going to say this, but I agree with Dustin, the booking system is not a well thought out idea. I have still not managed to join a server and I now give up, either the server has a 30 minute booking window, which means i need to sit for a full half an hour before I can join the server, or it has a 2 minute booking window which I miss, then the server either goes for a 2 hour practice session with 1 person in the server which no-one can join, or it fills up in 2 seconds flat.

Apparently it will eventually have a "guest list" thing which will let you join the server at any time, but that's only useful for leagues, doesn't help when you're just trying to jump in a pub server for a race.

This seems terrible already, there are no servers with less than roughly 150 ping, and no servers which I can actually join (or book or whatever bullshit that is) unless they're empty. Booking seems a mess, 1 minute booking window then a 2 hour practice where no-one else can join? What's wrong with joining in Practice?

Matrixi, locking at 100fps makes it far less smooth than locking it at 60 or 120(ish) for me, by an absolute mile. It brings in a serious micro-stutter at all times, feels like when I'm going round a corner the car is stuttering round it, it's not nice at all. I actually have the same problem with iRacing, in the 70 - 110 range it's an absolutely stuttery mess for me, 120-124 is perfect and 60 is passable. There is also the advantage of 60fps vs 100fps which lets me bring some eye candy back in.

I never really had a problem with tearing, that's not one of the reasons I went with vsync to be honest. I also didn't actually notice any increase in input lag either, which goes against everything I've ever heard and experienced with vsync too. This is obviously with all the usual nvidia settings (pre-render=1, max performance, LOD clamp).

Been trying Vsync again and actually quite liking it. Before I was running with it locked to 121 or 124fps, but even with graphics on minimum I couldn't hold this even when I was myself on the track, never mind with AI (and this is with a GTX770 & 5760x1080 res). Turned vsync back on, locked the FPS to 60 (to stop it jumping between 59&61) and it seems much smoother than I've ever seen vsync before, definitely smoother than my frames jumping around from 100 to 120, plus it lets me turn the AA&AF back up and actually get a good image quality. Maybe when MP comes I won't be quick enough with the slight graphical lag, but it's basically a new game for me now, I was sick of AC looking like complete shit yet running terribly at the same time.

Nords is brilliant, very bumpy but unreal in the F40.

Hate Zolder with a ****ing passion, just can't stand the place in any car so I'm sitting out this week and driving Indy@Indy. Although, if anyone could come up with a system where some AI decides fault for incidents then I'm sure iRacing would be happy to hear about it. Humans themselves can't decide who is to blame for a crash, never mind trying to program a system to do it.

I agree the MX5 is a piece of shit, which isn't exactly ideal for rookies, but I can't really fault the RUF.

All that bothers me about AC is that running triples wrecks the FPS. Using a 4670K OC'ed and a GTX770 and I've got almost everything turned off to get a decent frame-rate at my res, I could turn a few things on and get 60fps but it's a stuttery mess and gives me a headache after 5 minutes, or use vsync and put up with the input lag, but it really needs 120 ish to get it smooth enough to feel good. Obviously a 770 isn't exactly top end hardware, but it's got more than enough grunt for iR to run at 120 with everything maxed and looking 10x better than AC on min settings.

The 4 or 5 documents I really need to keep and a few bits of uni work are uploaded to a couple of places, and I really don't care about the rest of my stuff, I don't really have anything worth backing up, pretty much everything is just streamed now.
