All I can say is that I first tried to play with Keyboard but I find it's impossible to drive very fast times with it (and I really missed the FF and that's half of the fun in LFS) and so I used a joystick instead (MS Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro) when I was a demo driver along time ago.

But after a few month i noticed that i got aches in my fingers and in the hand (think I just played to much ). So i used a wheel (MS FF USB) and after a week or two I improved my laptimes a lot. I think to use a good tuned wheel is just better then everything else.

It just feels more real then every other steering device to drive a car sim with a wheel ;-)

Quote from speedfreak227 :I remember the first time i loaded up this game and watched the intro movie. it was the first game done in full polygons that i had ever seen. i knew it was something big at the time but none of my friends understood.

anyways. i've been ITCHING to see the intro movie or any of the other cut scenes for years.

anyone got any?

game

speedfreak227

I don't have the intro or scenes of the game but I loved the game (i think it was called in europe also "Out of this World" ) and i really loved playing the the 2nd part of the game called Flashback on my Amiga http://www.thelegacy.de/Museum/4354/

I can't really remember the intro (have seen to many) but i remember it was special at this time.

Quote from MyBoss :as the season is coming to an end, do you plan another DRC season? (with the same cars) I really enjoyed this, so I hope this will continue :-)

I think it's more fun to use different cars for another racing cup.
It's more fun if you have to learn a bit instead of using the same car over and over. The first Cup was with GTI, the 2nd with TBO class cars.

Well let's first finish this one and then let's see what the next challenge is

Quote from deggis :Sad weekend for motorsport. Another death happened in Friday when a J-WRC rally co-driver died in Catalonia Rally.

Yeah Jörg Bastuck died there:

Info:
Aaron Burkart's co-driver, Jörg Bastuck has been killed on the opening day of the Rally Catalunya on Friday, after a tragic accident on the second test.

Burkart and Bastuck went off the road in their Citroen C2 during the first run of the 24.14km El Montmell stage [SS2]. While neither were injured in the incident itself, Bastuck was later hit by the Ford Fiesta of Barry Clark and Scott Martin, which left the road at the same place, striking the German as he was changing a wheel on the C2 Super 1600.

Quote from speedfreak227 :it appears he was so focused on speed that he wasn't paying attention to the track conditions.

That's what i thought when watching it. A few others passed the crashed driver with no problem. Anyway sad to hear.

Quote from BigDave2967 :Think of it another way, he won't be going on a majority of servers if he carries on this way. If you are just here for sarcasm, you are in the wrong place to do so.

Anyway, watch out for him guys and gals, he will spoil your race.

Here is the attachment. Replays on MPR.

The rest of the race is enjoyable to watch.

Quote from tristancliffe :But he also told us that crackers can unload hotlaps.

That's no excuse Tristan and i don't think most proprietaries of something think the way you do.

It's like cracking a programm and wonder that not everything is working well.

Or go to a shop, steal something and then go back there and tell the owner that you will pay for it later when you got the money but you would like to let him know that his product is not working 100%. illepall

Quote from Taavi(EST) :Well i "found" a bug, i unlocked the game with not so legal ways, and i was able to upload a hotlap on blackwood, with EVERY car, doesn't happen on other tracks tho.

BTW: i feel bad because i unlocked the game, i buying it, for that i'm sure, i'm just waiting for my sister to get home, so i could use her creditcard....

You told us all in the official LFS Forum that you have committed a crime by unlocking LFS in an illegal way (and you are not the first one).

I don't understand you guys? illepall

Quote from need :The shifter on my DFP (UK model) isn't movable. It's stuck on the right hand side.

Same here and i don't think there are DFP versions where you can change the side of the shifter freely.

and to BBO: wuouw... great site u made.

Quote from MyBoss :Great site BBO, great to have a place to see the race summary :-)

http://www.LFS-Events.de was only invented for things like the results of the Danish Racing Cup. I was a bit optimistic and so i made it a bit bigger then i wanted and i needed another week for it (it was planned to open it after round 2).

The main problem was to make it look ok (without big gfx etc.) and bring the results to the foreground and to have not much work with it after new results are there.

Anyway nice that you like it the way it is atm. Thx

Quote from MyBoss :T7R|BBO and someone else had a contact and they crashed.

.....and in the mirrors I could see T7R|BBO getting closer and closer lap by lap. Eventually he got so close that he managed to pass me, but I think he did a little mistake or something, and I was past again.

...

Congratz again on your first win m8

1. Yeah that "someone else i had contact with" called "left first chicane curb"

2. Exactly . I was getting closer and closer and started to think if i have enough time etc. and did a few mistakes.

But for me the first race was really really great (except that i lost so much grip in the last laps ). What a hell of a fight. I never thought we all would make it in some situations illepall (see picture). Nice driving there guys.

Quote from Vykos69 :You are lapped, so:

- stay on your line on straight, dont brake or lift as long as other is behind you. Why? Cause this way your behaviour is most predictable, and lapping driver can adjust to that.
- take outside line in turns and let faster pass inside easily.

DONT CHANGE YOUR LINE ON STRAIGHT IF OTHER CAR APPROACHES YOU FROM BEHIND!! THIS WILL CAUSE A MESS!

Gunn, I appreciate your c&p effort But it is actually really really simple.

I totally agree. Actually really simple if everyone would do it like this in LFS

LfS Spectator is maybe the program you meant with "saw a patch". It allows you to follow the racing on a LfS (S2) server without playing on it.

Quote from bo-kristiansen :
..and too BBO and Misko about lap 6... - no hard feelings...
- I made some rubbing and pushing too. - thats racing.

All in all the first race was a great battle.

I'm sorry about braking to late at T2 of lap 5 and hitting you a bit Bo but i immediately slowed down after that corner and let you and Misko pass me again.

In lap 6: I saw that Bo made a mistake in that harpin corner and took my change (i had not really the time to look in the mirror again and i steered in. Maybe a bit to much cause i didn't expected Misko's there). Then he touched my back a little bit and we got a BBoBO (and i was the lucky one who escaped there)

Anyway nice racing with you guys
