Pole Position on the Atari 2600.

Monaca Grand Prix (I think, it was definately something Grand Prix) on the Master Syster/Game Gear.

Can't remember any racing games on the NES, but everyone knows the great Super Mario Kart on the SNES.

Gran Turismo 1 and 2, Colin McRae World Rally, Vrally, Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit and probably a few others which I can't remember on the PS1.

Gran Turismo 3 and 4, Tourist Trophy, Riding Spirits 1 and 2 (oh dear), TT Superbikes, Colin McRae 2.0, and again a few more I can't remember on the PS2.

The first PC racing game I played was round a friends many years ago (we never had a PC 'til I was about 12/13) and that was NetworkQ Rally or something. The first racing game I had on my PC when I got one was Carmageddon and Midtown Madness. It wasn't 'til I was about 17/18 I discovered the likes of LFS and GPL, and then it's pretty much grew from there. I now have LFS, rFactor, GPL, GTL, GTR, GTR2.

And a few weeks ago I treated myself to a Xbox360 (I know i'm rather late jumping on the 'next gen' console bandwagon) just so I could play Forza2. After having played it round a mates a lot, I had to have it myself.

PS. Anyone fancy a race on Forza sometime, add me on XBL. Same username as on here.

Across America is quite dated now, but all the SCS truck games have that annoying steering bug. You get used to it but it is far worse in ETS, takes roughly 90 degrees on the G25 at any speed and it goes bonkers, whereas most the 18WOS games will get a lot more degrees unless you're at high speed.

As for the brakes, use the motorbrake/jakebrake. It's quite unrealistic in how it slows you down so quickly, but it'll stop you much quicker than using the normal brakes alone.

If you're interested in any of the SCS truck games, i'd say get 18WOS:American Long Haul. It's basically the same as Haulin' but with the addition of a couple of trucks and a new part of the map opened up with a handful of new cities.

ETS was a big disappointment. If you want european trucks then just download some mods for the 18WOS games and put up with the american roads. There might even be some european maps available too, not 100% on that though.

Also, like someone else said above, disappointed in Rig'n'Roll with the release dates being useless and the loss of the multiplayer. That was it's main selling point for me. Maybe they'll release it in a future patch, who knows. Will be good to actually play it first.

Quote from Sponge :Hi all
I see it's already possible to get the new VWS renderd so I was wondering if someone would want to render the VWS Revolution Racing team skin

If possible a front and back angle shot in 1 pic. Also, if it's not too much trouble in 1280x800 and one in a higher res of your choice (surprise me :razz.

Many thanks in advance!

Here you go. Took longer than expected.

Also nice to see R-R still using some parts from the old FIB donor skins.

That doesn't look too bad. The colour of the carbon hood is a bit, wrong looking?

Quote from MiniVan :How do you guys get gimp to work so well, I have it but i cant figure it out and how to do designs and all that crap.

I'm not a GIMP user but the first link Google gave after searching for 'gimp tutorials' was this. Looks fairly promising.

My 'desk' is just 4 or 5 pieces of wood bodged together and then fixed to the wall with shelf brackets.

Simplicity wins.

Quote from P5YcHoM4N :I thought I'd give tilt-shift a try, turns out I suck at LFS and couldn't remember how to get the camera zoomed out a bazillion miles, so it doesn't really work. Although it has given me quite a few ideas for scenes.

I can't remember who posted the tut for tilt-shift, but damn you for implanting your seed in my brain, as I'm going to spend the rest of my life trying to get the technique right.

That would be me. Quite addictive isn't it?

Try it out with some real photo's too. Attached a before and after of a photo I think looks great after using the tilt-shift technique, even if it is black and white.

I might aswell jump on the bandwagon with a skin for the new car, even though i'm not all that bothered about it.

Basically a copy of the XF Advan skin, minus the Toyota badges/decals.

2048 and preview attached.

Already uploaded to LFSWorld.

Enjoy.

Quote from S14 DRIFT :Can I make a request (to the Dev's), that when you patch a game up, please do not include files that we would already have, such as the Steering Wheels used, headlights, custom tyre skins, etc, unless anything regarding these items have changed. I unpacked the installation, expecting it to only add the Scirocco to the LFS viewer, only to find that all of my textures relating to cars had been replaced by the bog standard ones.

Now maybe it's my fault, for blindly clicking "yes to all", but I didn't expect, what is basicaly a patch adding the Scirocco to the viewer and a skin, to over-write all of my hi-res addons. I mean, this 'patch' added a few things for the Scirocco, yet it somehow feels the need to overwrite the dds files for the all the cars. Maybe just something you could work on in the future? But I'll be backing up my .dds file every time a new patch comes out now :hide:

Don't take this the wrong way, btw. I, for one, appreciate this pre-patch alot

Is it that hard to extract it all to a new folder then copy over all your high res dds files?
