I really doubt any tweaking program has anything to do with the fact open modding of LFS is considered as a bad idea, especially in this stage it would be complete lunacy when LFS isn't even near complete. It's been discussed multiple times, and might be discussed again, but the conclusion has always been the same for online modding. It doesn't work because it doesn't cost a penny and anyone can have a go. Tweaks have not been a reason for anti-mod opinions. LFS is wip, it's better not touch it when it's not done.
Could you just shut up with this madness which hardly makes sense or has a point and go back to your Volvo tower and let people have fun if they like.
So what if someone is having 12 seconds of silly fun with their unrealistic space orbiting rocket cars? It's completely waste of time to make limitations to the software, that time is better used to make it have more variables and features.
I would rather get my hands on the program that I can make FZ5 to a front or mid engined V12 Ferrari, or make a LX8 than have some stupid limitations. When LFS simulates engines in a better way the ridiculous forces will do their job themself.
No, kids with their 2,3 billion hp mods will be ignored, Benbob the mod will release his ultimate tweak, serious people have serious fun and all is well.
Not saying this isn't very nice, it just needs to get some more values.
Australia is HUGE, so it depends where are you heading to. There should be enough fuel and range to the west coast in theory, but something like Perth BBO mentioned, falls short with about 500 km. I got no idea if that's the only place to land there though. I think you have to land somewhere if you want to the east coast.
But, if they say they do it, I guess have to.
Oh btw, what are you going to Australia for, if I may ask?
The engine size doesn't work as it should I think. It doesn't actually change the engine size for what you ask. And In the XRG for example, you can only have sizes between 1000-1500cc.
Cylinder amount would also be good to have. And all the tire parameters, and well, all the stuff what was in the old tweaks actually. :P
The program actually seems to works on all cars, but it uses either the default or your previous values which make the cars ridiculous anyway, but it does. I managed to get it confused while trying what cars it could do, and it didn't recognize I changed back to a car it supported.
Well those cars would probably fall in the prototype category. It's been suggested countless times, I'd love something like them too. But more important for 24h races would be changing lightning, night and improved damage and mechanical stuff.
Endurance racing is really marginal in LFS, and that's why the focus on development isn't really on it. We eventually might have all the things and bits that would make near as challenging as it should be and would make endurance races even more high profile events because the challenge would be much much tougher.
Team Promotec smells of elderberries btw, they know their promotion I give them that but they stink...I left the team before I joined it because it smelled that bad!
Well, for the record, I've not seen you posting any proof to prove him wrong either and that makes you wrong as him.
You might think you've left as a winner, but you haven't. You just enjoy calling people nazis, and generally just using nasty words at them. Have no idea how you've got away with all that censored words and rude behavior (talking about double standards?) lately. Maybe they still think you are 13 like it used to say in your profile.
What, you are not going to drink yourself unconscious?
This warm weather is ridiculous though. We had +4 or 5 yesterday, in December! It should be like -10! I hope it gets colder as promised for the new year. Some snow wouldn't hurt either.
Yes, they say this happens few times in a century. It's a temporary odd in weather, like having -30 sometimes, not climate change.
No, I just tried to note that saying cockpit view is equally unrealistic than chase isn't right.
I don't care what view people use, however I can't stand it's defended and claimed as realistic as the cockpit view. I mean come on, simulator? Never have heard anyone ever play GTR from chase view, never.
It's the same thing with controllers, mouse and keyboard drivers complaining their controllers aren't supported well enough anymore because they have lift while shifting. They are not a method of controlling an automobile in the same way you don't fly behind your car while driving. I do not understand how this concept of more realistic view can be that hard to understand.
And where the hell is the hardcore people when you need some support? Come on..the volvo man already turned his coat..bloody swedes.
edit.
Smooth edit, I would've stick by with the first version. It was much more nicer. I even bothered to quote it.
Ok, after you've done that you can compare with a second experiment. Train two pigeons to carry video camera behind your car, paint all your windows black and drive it with a monitor in front of you.
There was a hardcore server after patch X release I think. It used a insim program to kick everyone without proper control methods, wasn't a great success though. But maybe LFS and the community wasn't ready for it yet, the clutch simulation wasn't that good back then.
Can't remember what team ran it though, it was "something hardcore", and the tag was red.
But do you need to have it behind your car? The forced cockpit view now allows your view moved around the cockpit quite a lot.
