It may seem weird to you 'youngsters' (lol), but dear old Grandad Bladey was the FIRST person EVER to snowboard at Mt Ventoux (near Avignon) in France.
When I got to the station, nobody even knew what a snowboard was...this was waaaaaayyyyy back in the dark ages of 1985, just after I had my eyeballs candied by the James Bond film "A View to a Kill". At the time I was heavily into skiing, and had 'previous' as a bit of a surfer-dude from the north devon coast. To see the two disciplines entwined like that told me that finally somebody had a good idea...so I went out and found a snowboard...had weird fixings at the time, and you couldn't even wear proper ski boots..was more like a pair of plastic straps that you put you toes in and another strap for your ankle...difficult to explain, but.. they worked, sort of!
Ski lifts of the bum-drag variety were out of the question, and as Mt Ventoux didnt have chair lifts, the only way up was ...WALK!!

Obviously at a later date I got a 'proper' board with real fixings, and had about 5 years of fun before I moved back to the UK. (and got old )

I must admit, that when FSX first came out I did have a dabble, but back then my computer struggled with it on anything other than low settings!
I have since got a new CPU/Mobo/RAM upgrade and a new GFX card that _should_ be capable of blowing it out of the water.
One question...Did they ever get the DX10 stuff implemented like they originally intended?

I know that the frame rates could be improved, but why lose the quality for something my eyes cant differentiate between??

[sarcasm] Oh sorry, I didnt realise that the 8600GT had exactly the same chipset as a 9800GTX...maybe I should have saved a lot of money and bought a cheap 8600 and adjusted the clock speeds so that it would go faster than my 9800GTX.
Maybe everybody has been mistaken, and instead of buying a Core 2 Quad, they should have bought a 1.8 Celeron instead...after all...from what you state, they must be the same![/sarcasm]

The 8600GT has a DIFFERENT GPU, a DIFFERENT Chipset, and even a DIFFERENT fan!!

This problem ONLY applies to the 9800GTX, (part number: N98XPZL-1GB), and it has nothing to do with a temporary freeze during installation (which happens while it is installing the PhysX drivers), but a complete and total lockup, along with the fact that you can no longer even boot into Windoze, except in safe mode.

nah....general consensus is that Gigabyte screwed up with the BIOS Revision...the earlier ones and the later ones work fine...apparently it was just the batch of cards with R10 BIOS that screwed up...
