@giorgobiani554: Put yourself on the place of the owner/s of the server. You wouldn't wanna hand your work to just some random person, just because they claim they will use it only privately, would you? 1st of all - you can't be sure if he won't be just another one of those who said that very same thing and lied. No matter how sure you are in yourself, the server owner/s can't be. They don't know you. They have never met you. And they have made something unique, which you just straightly ask for, giving nothing in return. I can go on like this forever, but I'll stop, cause I hope that you've got the point by now.
The best solution for you would be to request a drift insim app in the forums. Too optimistic, imo, but what would you lose? Nothing.
Honestly? No. But on the other hand, it's worth trying. It only took me 5 minutes after all. If you wonder how such a long post took me only 5 minutes: It's not at all hard to say what's on your mind directly, which is exactly what I did too. ;]
If you don't write as if it's everybody's fault, the guilty ones will think it's not about them. At least that's what my experience with this forum is telling me.
@ConorD1: I've been saying it before too. Just not that directly. But then, people didn't seem to get it(at least not the ones who had to).
-1000. If I were one of the devs I'd give up working on the project because of the community... Stop DEMANDING. Every one that puts themselves on the side of the devs is being called fanboy for what? Because we see how frustrating is for them? They are people too. I am not trying to stand on the side of the game. **** LFS. You're so in love with your little game that when it comes down to finding another hobby - the hobby becomes flaming or demanding from the devs of that very same game. Or are you just mad because your beloved game is not progressing fast enough and need somebody to blame? I'm pretty sure that the devs are tired from complaints and such. I know because I would have been tired too. ****, I wouldn't be only tired, I would quit developing it, if the community is so ungrateful. **** the game, we're talking about the mental pressure you are putting on the devs' heads.
I know that I would treat a community so ungrateful even worse. And yeah, I would definitely understand them if they just silently quit the forums and the development. But from the look of it, those people have no intentions to do such a thing, even tho you are pushing them that way more and more every day. Look how good they treat you, and you just push harder and harder and harder and harder every time something is said. And you expect them to give you updates or be active in the forum as a whole? You just go like "poor us, we have no patch, no report updates, come on Scawen, tell us something new" in every thread he replies. And then you wonder "Why are the devs so silent, maybe they quit developing the game?". Think about it.
PS: Sorry, Antman, it wasn't pointed only at you, I just grabbed your reply cause it was the shortest.
I've seen the same server twice too. It's a very rare bug to happen, and it's not fatal either. Makes your server more popular till the bug fixes itself.
Plus, he stated it as it was a fact, so I thought I'd state my opinion as a fact too. Is it too hard to see(that's actually a rhetorical question, in case you don't understand)?
And calling me a fanboy.. Meh, move on. You're the one getting all nerved and stuff. ;d
While I don't fully agree with dadge, I fully disagree with you, and all your posts I've seen so far. Could you please calm yourself down, and stop with these insults towards people. And if you really are 28, as your profile states, then I have just absolutely NOTHING more to add, because it all speaks for itself.
Maybe you've just had a bit of bad luck then. Maybe just the admins in those servers you joined were offline at that time. Get some more experience. I know that my server is probably nothing but crash-pie all over when there is nobody to keep an eye on the situation. But when I, or some other admin joins everyone seem to be sooo clean and careful, except the stupid ones that think they can get away with everything.
With that kind of behaviour (coming to the forums and straightly telling that 98% of the S2 licensed people are crap), all I can say is: Good luck in finding any friends in the game. The ones you say are friendly are maybe the 2% that are like you. You sure didn't give me a chance to be patient and nice to you with all that crap talk.
register/login -> Cracked servers give you the ability to log in by username of your choice(the official lfs database plays no role in here). So if you want the stats of your users protected in your server(example: don't want people to steal money from each-other in a cruise server), you need to make it so people, who 1st log in with a specific username get the chance to register it. And then if they don't log in with it, they don't get access to the essential commands, or get kicked out of the server. For that, you need an insim tracking those things.
That's why whenever I see register/login in request for an insim, I get very suspicious. ;P
newInSimSettings -> new (space) InSimSettings ?
In "default" you have placed the admin password of the server I hope.
Also, sorry for confusing everyone. The dbProcess file is there, and the mysql reference is supposed to be there too, but the insim doesn't actually save the user accounts. Probably I never reached that point in the project. You are free to delete the MySql reference, and also the dbProcess class. And it should work.
I might actually start the voting system I planned for so long. Now that I have _some_ free time. Thanks for bringing my mind to it again tho.
Speaking of which, let me ask everyone: What do you think of a system that works as follows: Voting for next track is opened for 1 day, until 00:00. After 00:00, when the server is empty the insim changes the track. The track stays like that for 2 days, and on the 2nd day, the whole day from 00:00 to 00:00 voting is opened again. Everyone that joins the server will be able to vote(no more than once of course). Or should voting be opened for both days? Or maybe the track kept the same only 1 day? Also, should we allow voting for the same track?
So, to make it easier to answer, let's make a pattern:
1: Should voting be opened for both days? [Yes/No]
2: Should 1 track be kept only 1 day? [Yes/No]
3: Should voting for the same track be allowed? [Yes/No]
4: If you don't like the idea at all, suggest something different.
5: Go with morpha's idea(the post below). [Yes/No]
Actually, I might just go straightly with morpha's idea, because it sounds really good, imo. Unless of course, there are many people that think that my idea is better. And not much people post in this thread anyway, so I guess the result is clear. ;d
Wow, Stiggie.. Not so much underlined, colored, bolded and italicsed text. The number of the typos was rather small. You're having some progress here. Just one thing bothers me: If you could decrease the stupidity level of the threads you're making... That'll be perfect ..Except the typos, underlined, bolded, differently colored, and italicsed words of course. Oh and less postboning of stuff, and you'll eventually get there ..in a few years. By few years, I mean enough for all the current users that know you to move on from LFS, so that you can go on and impress the new ones with your eye-catching style.
