Well, it's not mine. A friend has a server, hosted in his parents' office, so I used that to help out for the jump record. But what would the difference be even if I did have one anyway? :P
No, it was hosted by a friend of mine. In the office of his parents. It's a pretty tough machine. With a strong connection too. But the quality is not that perfect outside of Bulgaria.
Tbh, I kind of expected that.
But did they get the LAG (x.yz) thing on top of their cars?
Also, if the bales were hit too often, it sure would lag, cause you know... When "Too many physics objects" message appears some computers freeze up or start lagging awfully. ;p
Or was that just not the case? ;d;d
I am just really curious: How was the host? Did it lag, was it good, was it bad(connection-wise)? Was it acting normally(as in normally, I mean as good as a rented server, from.. let's say 500servers)? Or did everyone lag like sh.t? Or maybe lagged at times? I think you've got the point by now.
When you are GMT+X, you come in the server at 18pm - X ...I think?
Which should be right now actually, cause I'm +3(usually +2, but it's summer time).
Coming in the server, if I'm not too late.
But I couldn't make it earlier anyway.
[E] Noone in. I'm confused.... If you're 3 hours ahead, you should come earlier. That's the first thing, that logic is telling me. But I haven't thought of it any much deeper.
A very basic example: Games like GTA IV and TDU don't run on my laptop, while LFS does. What is your problem? You don't want people to play the game in the way they like to? Come on, you can't be serious...
In fact, all of the aspects of LFS are great. Racing, drifting, cruising, (well, I personally get bored of dragging quite fast, but it's yet funny when you're competing with friends), offroad, offtrack, or whatever more there is. It's all great fun if it's made like it should be.
This is like criticizing someone's food taste. I, for example, don't like mushrooms. I don't like them in my pizza; I don't like them filled with cheese for example. I don't like them at all. But yet, I'm not like "WTF, why are you people eating mushrooms... they taste like s..t!"..
@VoiD: How does a reply like that make YOU mature?
Do you guys know what's cool in cruising? The same that's cool in racing. That's just one word. It spells F-U-N. Do you people still remember that word? When was the last time you've had fun? It sure seems to be like a long long time ago. At least from the look of it.
It might be rubbish for you. On the other side - I don't care much about it.
But they only have 1 thread, so what's the problem? Let them bump it as much as they want. It's not like it's against the rules or anything. At least they are not making thousands of threads to say the same thing in a different way, or to give updates about the team.
On top of all, the appearance of (The Stig) has given me some laugh moments, so I'm all for keeping that thread. He might just decide to kick back in.
Thursday, as I have some free time now. I can't be sure if I will on Sunday too.
By the way, about the server I mentioned earlier - Going to get it up now, so you can test it. The name will most likely be "Not the server for you". If not, I will edit this post. @OP: I will pm you the admin password so you can change the track, allowed cars, etc... All on all - to test the server.
Lol, I badmouth even my own isp whenever I want. And, yes, about you - I can't help it. You come around once every year to offer something and then disappear. Now with LFS server hosting, I just said that so people will at least think before they rent a server from you. I mean think like asking themselves "is this hosting going to be good(speed-wise)", "is there a chance of it shutting down before my paid server's time is over", etc, etc.
Cause, let's be real - You come here and just say "Hey visit our new cruise server" and in a few posts after that you're like "Oh, and by the way guys, we now rent servers". Somehow this... just... doesn't sound.... eh... serious enough to me. Don't know tho, could be just me.
And, ok, here's your chance to change my opinion:
Was there a website for the server rental service when you announced it?
Is there even one now?
Do you have any rules?
What will we pay 2.50 for?
Does the price include a control panel?
Does the price include insim hosting?
Why do you think that we should pick you instead of the LFS hosting companies that are in this business for quite a long while?
How can you prove that this is not just some VPS, rented from a cheap american company?
(I am asking most of those questions, because 2.50 seems like a price that is too good to be true for a service, that has just started.)
And there are tons more questions to be answered before you drop the bomb, by saying "hey we offer hosting too now".
If the game makes you mad, there is a simple solution: Close it, and go find another hobby. That's my idea of how things should be. If you're not having fun, please seek for help from the Leave and Exit buttons, not the forums.
Plus: Having break lights on the fbm won't help at all. Pile ups on T1 are just the most often situations you are likely to encounter, visiting demo racing servers, in ANY car.
We can have tries on both of those days. What's the problem?
Even on other days, if the OP is free too. That way we don't have to take a chance, but we can just use the replay of whatever day was better.
