I want to follow other leagues examples of a definite sign up confirmation system. From now on all "old" drivers confirm they will take part of the race. This thread opens around a week before the actual race.
I need this info to feed the tracker.

Syntax when sign up:

Real name:

Np Nano, I can understand what you mean ...

After some misunderstandings the start went pretty smooth I think. We have one more occation to see how it works. If it works as it should I write what it says in the first post here into the rules.

Testing the rolling start procedure tonight at 18.00 UTC. Server is up.

Server: LFS LeMans League
Pass: endu1

Qualify: 5 min, @18.00 UTC

Insecure about time zones? Go here: http://www.lfsworld.net/ and look at your upper left. Both UTC and your local time is shown.

Quote from HL_Nano :Very good! !

Some logo to add in the skins?

Thx ..

We haven't worked on any special logos for the car skins. It's up to you guys ...

Thx to R. Kolz too ..

Quote from tomylee :That makes no sense to me. It's more that starting from the last corner the first car can do what ever speed he likes.

The meaning of this is to settle the grid and to keep the cars in formation down the s/f strait towards the s/f line in a speed around 80 km/h. The start should be done calmly this way ... I hope ...

In the rules it says:
4. General racing rules:
1. If the entrant is to get into an accident, the Entrant is prohibited from using "SHIFT+S" to get back to the pits. You must limp your vehicle to the pits.
1a.The entrant, when limping the vehicle back to the pits, must have their hazard lights on (use the number 9 to turn hazards on, 0 to turn hazards off). The entrant, when limping back to the pits, may not block the race line.

2. Entrant is required to pit at least once during the duration of the race, but cannot pit during the first or last lap of the race. Practice and qualification events are excluded from this rule.

I would like to change this to:
1. Accidents
1a. If the entrant is to get into an accident the entrant, when limping back to the pits, may not block the race line.
1b. If the entrant are not able to limp back to the pits, you may use "SHIFT+P". Your total amount of laps is mended together, however you will get 1 lap penalty.

2. Goes out completely. It's up to you whether you want to pit or not.

Any comments?

EDIT: When the rules was written it was SHIFT+S to telepit. These days it's SHIFT+P though. Changed it in the text.

I was thinking we don't need a pace car. Yes of course it would be nifty to have one, but the down side is two: that pace car steals a racing slot and you have to have a driver who wants/can drive it.

I've posted a suggestion for a rolling start procedure and test dates in http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=32484

Rolling start tests
Cawwa
S2 licensed
Test "races" to test a rolling start:
Day1: Wednesday Oktober 17
Time: 18.00 UCT (20.00 CEST)

Day2: Sunday Oktober 21
Time: 15.00 UCT (17.00 CEST)

The procedure for rolling starts:

1. The pole sitter keep a speed around 100 to 120 km/h around the track.
2. Right before the last turn he slows down to 80 km/h and the cars form their selves into the two lines they had at the start.
3. Right before the s/f line the "GREEN GREEN" command drops. At that time start have gone. You are not allowed to pass any car in your own line before the s/f line.

Penalties
1. If a car spins out and rejoins to the track he can rejoin his place carefully. If he courses trouble for others a time penalty of 30s is handed out after the race.
3. If a car pass another car in the same line a time penalty of 30s is handed out after the race.

This text is planned to be in the rules section as well, so any comments about it is welcome ...

Quote from tomylee :I meant to get the permission to start.

The amount of laps stated in the rules are 50 and is to be seen as a minimum. However this track demands the hand full from all drivers and is a rather short one, so I recommend 100 laps.

I would like to see a rolling start for the next race.

Do you think it's possible to do this without a pace car? It would be up to the pole sitter to have a good speed around the first track. A GREEN GREEN command will be send in chat (of course you can't block your messages)

LeMans League starts in season 2

The LeMans league started season 2 last week, on September 26th on the Asian continent. Two classes started this season, the GT1 and GT2. The GT1 class containing the XRR, FXR and FZR started without any restrictions and the GT2 (same cars) with an air restriction to equalise all three cars.

This first race on the Kyoto GP track over 45 laps was the perfect start of the season for Joona Laurila (Mercury Racing). Keeping three FZRs from Cyber-Racing (M.Riekkola, S.Pasic and P.Purhonen) behind him. Throughout the whole race the lead that J.Laurila had was never endangered and even laped J.Šimek from Dynamic-Racing in second position. The podium was completed by J.Ögren (Racingmates) with after a great race starting as eleventh.

In the GT2 class Z.Hajdinjak from team XFR had the best qualification time before M.Björndal (Racingmates) and A.Haro (Team XFR). B.Holmberg starting due to technical problems in the pre-race in last position performed outstandingly during the race and won the GT2 class before Z.Hajdinjak. C.Lluna completing the podium, making it an all XFR GT2 podium.

SouthCity will be host for the second race October 24 which will run over 60 laps. More information about the league can be found in the LFS Forum.

EDIT: So sorry ... there is no place where it says who wrote the report! Thank you tomylee!! A very good race report.
I send it in to lfsnews as well and it's published there ...

The race was finished ... I won ...

EDIT: We can't change the normal way in lobby, only with the /laps command. Somehow the full tens is the only way. (500Servers)

Works ...
At least with the /laps command.
I could change from 250 to 2 after one lap. I wasn't able to put in 249 from the start though, only full tens.

The race time is around 90 minutes, at least for the coming race. No need to change the laps imo.

I really like that suggestion about not continue with your qualifying after a crash.

Race 1 Kyoto Grand Prix

No complaints have been filed.

Never the less I give a sharp warning to D.Tšubenko for using a very bad language.
If we see any of this in the next race from
D.Tšubenko he will get one race bann.

This was the first race with this two class of cars in an open and wide track. Never the less it was more then one issue with contacts between GT1 and GT2 cars due to not showing each other respect or room to each other.

Next race will be a narrow and tight track. If we are going to get a good race there, we need to take more consideration of each other. In this race I will hold the GT1 cars responsible for safe passings to 80%. Of course, if a GT1 car do not show a good racing ethic, that GT1 car will be penalized.

There will be no admins looking at the race live, only admins who look through complaints after the race.

Congrats to CoRe for the win in GT2 ...
Of course congrats to Mercury for the GT1 victory as well.

Thank you all racers, this was a helluva race ...

If the GT1's had problems with the overtaking of the GT2 cars, I just wonder what's going to happen in the next race. If there's not going to be a change with the discipline here this race, I'm afraid, is going to be a chaos. At Kyoto GP the track was wide, shouldn't be any problems with overtakings. Yet it was. How would this look like at South City? Imo we shouldn't race there at all, the track is to narrow and full of hard walls where the GT2 cars prolly gonna end up in, judging from last race.
