It would be good to know what ports the above servers in the previous screen shots are set up to.

Can someone please help

Bladerunner have you tried this :

Master port is now selectable in cfg.txt (29339 or 8080)

Just go into the cfg.txt file listed within LFS game folder scroll down about halfway and your probably on 29339 just erase and replace with 8080 and try and see if this works

Thanks Barroso but here in the uk most mainstream suppliers have usage policies or are traffic shaping, this thread is an excercise so hosts can understand better how to counteract the effects of poor ISP's but I agree with you about moving It's just sometimes more hasstle due to Phone packages etc.

OK This is what I get With Tiscali in the UK This is patch W

As you can see I receive access to about 6 -7% of all servers available Shots taken at 7PM

Master Server screens shows I can join 43 with 10 as no reply This is using Port 8080 for Master server as 29339 Will Not Connect
LFSWorld Graph Shows 683 Hosts

This is about as bad as it gets at 7pm with pings of around 50ms at normal non peak times for about the first 30 hosts but I still only get access to a max of about 80 - 90 servers at best of times

To make it worse i'm on Tiscali Max 8Mb line with tel and free calls anytime for £21 / Month

Hope all this helps As I'm Probably a worst case scenario

I'm with Tiscali and only get around 50 servers on S2 in the evenings due to the ports

I know it's port throttling and traffic shaping as they all start reappearing after 11:30pm

I wish that sever admins could choose ports that are known not to have these problems, for instance I can allways get access to Conedodgers and Redline but STCC is hopeless for me

PS. I've had to set the master server to 8080 as the other option 29339 would result in NO REPLY FROM MASTER SERVER between 4pm and 11:30pm

My list is tottaly dependant on the port the host is set up to, I'll grab a sreenie of my access tonight so you can look into what ports the servers are using that I have access to it would then give you a better idea of the problem

Hi Lads I'm very interested in this sounds like just what I need to get me to the next level

Lets just say I'm Mature but a kid at heart with 20 years experience of sim racing found LFS about 2 months ago

STCC Silver Licence - likes different Combo's and just starting to get a smooth style to my racing but could do with a little more help.

So I will keep a look out for your Guru server - at time of writing this I could not find it (the server) I mainly race between 10pm and 1am GMT.

I even shut down Explorer.exe using task manager then after you have finished playing hit Ctrl - Alt - Delete to bring back task manager and then go File New Process - and enter : Explorer.exe and your desktop will reappear.

Try this as I have never had any diverse effects.

I was having this problem with Conedodgers1 - 22 cars on the start line and I am this week upgrading Graphics card as at present I have a Dell with integrated Graphics Getting 10fps at the starts but normally 35 - 40fps during races.

But with this new patch and the starts you will only need 4 or 5 racers with connections that struggle with 28 cars to encounter big problems on the starts.

So it's off to the shops this weekend to pickup a new card because I do not feel confident with my setup at present.

Probably Choke as it only happens during this very busy scenario at the start of races the rest of the race I have no Lag problems It's just inputs at the start seem very blocky and slow.

The Problem I have at starts is with LAG as with a full grid at present on Version (W) sometimes I have to select 2nd gear 3 or 4 times before it will engage losing me valuble time on the starts and I sometimes get swamped by the cars behind me - this is all due to LAG and slow frame rate.

Now Bring this forward to the new patch (W9 or W10) with false starts If I have to select 1st gear or disingage handbrake to launch the car off the line and the above scenario happens then i'm static on the line with the likely hood of causing a mass pile up not being my fault just a problem generated by LAG and with 28 cars starting the problem becomes alot worse than it is now.

My problem seems to be the brake Pedal as it's all or nothing like one big dead zone, Throttle pedal seems much better but because of it's age it maybe knackered as it was given to me by a friend - the connector to the wheel on mine is an S Video connector the small round 5 pin type.

Not all bad though as it gives very good Force Feedback what puzzles me a little though is that on LFS settings I have to have FF as low as 10 - 20% out of 200% any higher and the wheel would give me arm pump Especially in the GTR cars

Big problem i've encountered now being Silver STCC is that i'm using an old Microsoft sidewinder FF wheel (Gameport Version) so I have to use buttons for throttle and brake due to lack of driver support for pedals hence XRT is hopeless and no access to FXO as you need gold I also hate the RB4 I call it the wallowing Pig

hence my slow times on silver and gold server - my career is at a sloooow pace at present

I noticed recently on one server a really fast guy hotlapping AS National Consistently in 1:40xx in an fzr (I was spectating to find out where I myself am losing time) and about 3 laps from the end he came up against a slower guy in the middle of T1 as the faster guy was travelling about 30k faster he clipped the slower guys rear and then promptly tried to vote him off.

Tottaly uncalled for in my opinion as the fast guy has to realise there is slower and more inexperienced racers on track using crap setups and remember they are in a race and should act accordingly.

Remember you fast guys - there is usually someone watching just to learn your lines etc so act like an ass and it gets noted

In the case above the slower driver may not have had a decent setup and therefore was unable to correct his line mid corner or lacked the skill to do so.

Did anyone see Brundle and Blundell going through replays of LH driving after the race on ITV - gives a little insight to how he likes the car to drive a little loose, the two of them were a little surprised on his competance and ease of how LH is happy to drive an F1 that loose being so early on in his F1 career.

IE he already drives like an established F1 driver.

I remember last year in Germany in GP2 when he had a 10 second stop and go penalty and still managed to pass everyone and win the race, From that point on I think Ron Dennis was aware that he needed to get LH an F1 drive.

Personally I think Alonso has been brought in to groom LH into a long term champion, think about it LH has been with Mclaren since the age of 13 thats 9 years and in that time he has won 90% of the championships he has entered, how better to put the final piece of the jigsaw into place than to team him up with the reigning 2 times champion.
