How make lots of gold, boost smithing and enchanting skill, thus level up all in one tip

I got my smithing up to level 70 just by buying iron and leather and making iron daggers and leather braces, but if you enchant the daggers you can sell for a big profit!

Quote :In order to make lots of gold fast you need to do a few simple tasks. Firstly, buy as much Iron bars, Iron Ore and Leather as you can find. Most Smithing stores sell it, most towns have a blacksmith. Once you’ve gathered all your Iron Bars, go to a forge, I suggest using the one in Whiterun because there are 2 blacksmiths in the same building that sell Iron Bars and Leather, they do not share an inventory. Change all your Iron Bars and Ore into Iron Daggers, the Bars cost about 20 Gold each, the Leather costs about 25 gold each. To save yourself cash use the Thief Guilds cowl for cheaper items or anything else you have that increase speech. Each Dagger costs about 60-70 gold to make, they sell for mere coppers. The trick here is to enchant them.

A Guest Hero suggested using Absorb Health Enchantment and it works well but if you can get Banish, that will make this far more profitable. All you need to do it find an item with that Enchantment and Disassemble it, you can then use the Absorb Health Enchantment to Enchant your Iron Daggers with. You need a lot of Soul Gems for this method, you can purchase them from most Taverns. Don’t spend Gold on filled Souls or it’s not worth it, I suggest buying Common Soul Gems or lesser. You can then sell the Enchanted Iron Daggers for 200-500+, the better the Soul, the more profit you can make so if you can catch the Souls yourself, that’s easy cash. Especially if you use a Soul Trap weapon and Azuras Star. I suggest using the Enchanting table in Dragons Reach as it’s easy to get to and the guy there sells Gems. Once you’ve completed this method once, wait 48 hours and make the same trip to each Blacksmith, this time sell the Daggers as you’re buying more Iron.

The trick is to enchant a weapon with soul trap for 1 second on hit, which you will use when the enemy is low on health and then the final hit that kills him will fill a soul gem to use for enchanting these daggers.
The highest sell price I can get is with the drain 18 stamina enchant, makes the dagger worth 650-700! If you had high speech that is

Just got my 3rd assassin hit on me, clearly someone doesn't like me....
Well 2 Dark brotherhood hits, and one of 3 burly dudes. Found the hit contract on their bodies

Oh that head mage, makes a good punching bag to level your combat skills if needed, he can't die, and he's always alone in his room. So no witnesses, and he forgets after he resurrects

Quote from Vain :Did any of those people who like Skyrim also play Morrowind?

I used to try to get into that game but it was extremely unfocused story-wise. Either I felt like I was getting lost in side-quests upon side-quests without making any noticeable progress or I felt like I was leaving out a lot of interesting stuff by focusing on the main-story. Out of about 7 honest attempts to complete the game I never managed to keep at it until the end.

I've been watching videos of Skyrim on youtube out of curiosity and I think it is extremely similar in its gameplay and story.

Is there any improvement over the way Morrowind handled the story?

Vain

I installed Morrowind earlier this year with mods, and visusl upgrades....played it for a few days and never went back. A big yawn for me.

People must be looking at it with rose tinted glasses, but things have moved on since those days.

Quote from Gills4life :I bought a horse but ended up ditching it because I am enjoying going everywhere and admiring the scenery on foot!

Also on a horse I kept running straight into bandits and wolves etc, when I find creeping up and firing an arrow through their skulls more fun. The archery on this game is great. A very satisfying thud as your arrow finds it's target.

If you could shoot bows and slash from horseback it would change things greatly! Especially if we had spears/lancers, and I find it strange you can't, plus animals seem to stand there if your on horseback until you dismount - then all hell breaks loose

Quote from Matrixi :Decided to marry her after long consideration. (Was first planning on Aela at whiterun, then I found out what those people REALLY are!)

Profitable business this marriage, anyhow.

Quote from DevilDare :Not sure actually. Although I would expect most shop owners to do the same.

From a wiki, it seems it doesn't matter if they originally owned a shop or not, they may open one on their own

After the Marriage, your partner will ask where do you want to live and you will have the choice of living with them, or if you have a house, live there. If your spouse relocates to a different City from where they originated to live in one of your houses, they may indicate that they wish to become a shopowner to keep occupied while you are adventuring. If this occurs, you can ask them once a day how the shop is going to receive a share of the profits (approximately 100 gold per 24 hours). You will also be able to buy and sell from/to your spouse as would a regular merchant NPC

I guess I'm not suprised, she's always dropping hints and hiting on me when I'm around....

There is also a girl that owns a store in Winterhelm, near the Mage college....
And what about that female that runs the weapons and armour shop in Whiterun? Free weapons and armour?

Quote from The Moose :I've been looking for a potential wife. I think the virtual hottie above might just be the one.

Is she single? Where do i find her?

Good thinking

I found this town right at the mid top of the map, on the coastline, it has a port with ships etc. I think it's called Dawn something. There is a Towered temple above it on a cliff.
She works at the inn there, daughter of the owner - sings songs

also, don't piss people off. I've had hitman and hitmen take me on, when I least expect it, twice already... one for stealing stuff

The second time was when I was leaving a shop in Riverwood. 3 burly dudes jumped on me as I was leaving the general trading shop, took 3 goes to get out of that. Lucky I had a companion and summoned atronach to help out

I like it though, world is a more alive and interactive

I'm level 13 now and bears kick my ass......

I was admiring the scenery and all of a sudden one came up and 2 shotted me!
I killed a troll, and that was much easier for my magic skills compared to a bear, the speed difference I guess
and having a continous stream of fire and ice does help.

I'm finding it hard to decided which attributes to spend points on per level. I wish I could choose a little of everything

There is a lot of bland terrain and snow in the area where you start, but on the otherside of that big mountain, or maybe the seasons changed, there are some gorgeous visuals and towns

Ahh if only we had GT5 style photo mode with real camera functions...

The Fraps captured pics retain my gamma settings, the game capped ones don't...

Quote from jibber :Yeah, the world is really beautiful to just wander around! I love the rivers and waterfalls especially!

PS: Does your uber-awesome fast PC have an option to resize images?

yes but you lose detail

PC Skyrim tweak list
http://forums.bethsoft.com/ind ... -tweaks-enhanced-visuals/

I added all those tweaks, and boy it sure looks different now! I didn't notice any steam coming off the water before, now it does, and there are leaves falling off trees with the wind!

First time I have seeing rain in Skyrim too, it just went dark all of a sudden

Quote from jibber :I have no idea about the xbox version. On PS3 it takes roughly 10 seconds to load a new area... wow terribly long waiting time indeed!

2-3secs on my PC!

Quote from JJ72 :how does the two hands control work on keyboard and mouse? left/right clicks? really want to go into this but really short of personal time already, I haven't even finish deus ex yet!

yeah default is mouse - left click = right hand, right = left, but you can map it whatever you want

Doing a little bit of sight seeing with my "DLSR" - Skyrim can be pretty relaxing just wandering around, once the high res texture mod packs come out, even more so, the sound/music helps too

Well watching videos of the Xbox version is 3x longer than my PC.
We do have much faster drives and controllers here

I prefer mouse and keys too

Well I can tell you load times are super fast on the PC version, especially reloading and stage changes.
very slow on the consoles...

And none the hiccups and stutters you get in Oblivion, plus draw distance is much better and almost on par with modded Oblivion but at a much higher framerate on my system
20fps is more common on my super modded Oblivion

Interface could use some work, not suited to the PC! Bring on the mods

I think it's much better than Oblivion and Fallout 3/NV

Picked up the Spa DLC this week. After a few practise laps, I decided to have a 3 lap race against the new AI on max aggression setting. Everyone has Hard sports tyres, and I used a 450hp sorta GT4 spec 370z - really enjoyed that, the AI in spec 2.0 is much better, plus I guess being a new track means the AI have better pathfinding files

The AI all act differently. I ended up 5th, and even if I knew the track better, the lead AI was miles in front....
Had a nice battle with the RUF
There were a few times were he came up the inside and just about took me, but he backed off due to a corner coming up

Made a video of the race here

As far as physics go, I find the cars behave much better with ABS off now. You don't get that sudden lurch like they used to from the weight transfer if your wheel is off centre

I could never drift with my DFGT wheel. I'd fish tail into a tank slapper

People say there is more gravity
CoolColJ

I'm finding it more predictable to drift with the control pad, compared to before, should feel much better with a wheel instead of the fishtailing we used to have

Also AI is better in terms behaviour but they are still not that fast
